You cannot take away my rights. You're going to have to call the police officer. You're gonna have to...excuse me. Excuse me."
    MARINE: "Please step back."
WOMAN: "You can temporarily detain me, I don't care. You're not even in the correct uniform. You're gonna have to detain me. You're not going to take away my rights."
    STORYLINE:
U.S. Marines stationed in Los Angeles stopped a woman wearing a hooded jacket from crossing a bridge on Friday.
The presence of Marines comes after protests erupted last week over immigration raids.
Maj. Gen. Scott Sherman, commander of Task Force 51, who’s overseeing the 4,700 troops deployed by President Trump, said the Marines finished training on civil disturbance and are starting their operations by replacing National Guard troops.
The National Guard soldiers can then be assigned to protect more law enforcement agents on raids, Sherman said.
About 200 Marines out of the 700 deployed to the protests are in the city, Sherman said. They have all undergone civil disturbance training.

  • Rescue effort underway in Ramat Gan after Iran's missile hit building trapping residents, AP explain
    (14 Jun 2025)
    RESTRICTION SUMMARY:
    ASSOCIATED PRESS
    Ramat Gan, Israel - 13 June 2025
    ++NIGHT SHOTS++
    1. SOUNDBITE (English) Sam Mednick, The Associated Press:
    +PARTIALLY OVERLAID+
"This is Ramat Gan , it's a suburb of Tel Aviv that was just hit really hard by missiles that came from Iran. You can see behind me here, this area is cordoned off. This balcony up here, we were just told that we needed to get out of the way because first responders were worried that it was going to fall. Over there, that we were just pushed away from, there is a house completely, the entire front is ripped off and we're told that there are 15 people about who are trapped underneath the house right now. First responders are trying to get them out. They went into the safe room when the missiles came and they are now trapped in there. There's a lot of elderly people in this area. This is one hard hit area, but as you drive through the city of Tel Aviv, you can see fire trucks and police that are tending to other incidents. Here you can just see debris and glass all over the floor, burnt out cars, houses that are damaged and destroyed, and first responders right now are just scrambling to make sure everyone is OK."
    2. Various of destroyed building
    3. Destroyed car
    STORYLINE:
15 people were reportedly trapped inside a collapsed building late Friday in the Tel Aviv satellite of Ramat Gan as projectiles launched from Iran rained on central Israel throughout the day.
The wail of air raid sirens and the rumble of explosions could be heard throughout Israel on Friday night, and Associated Press journalists documented explosions as Iranian rockets hit Tel Aviv, the commercial hub of Israel.
Hours earlier and again Friday evening, Israel launched strikes across Iran that targeted its nuclear program and military sites, killing several top military officers and raising the prospect of an all-out war between the two bitter Middle East adversaries.
It appeared to be the most significant attack Iran has faced since its 1980s war with Iraq.
As the Iranian rockets descended on Israel, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed not to let Israel “escape safely from this great crime.”
The strikes came amid simmering tensions over Iran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program.
For years, Israel had threatened such a strike and successive American administrations had sought to prevent it, fearing it would ignite a wider conflict across the Middle East and possibly be ineffective at destroying Iran’s dispersed and hardened nuclear program.

Marcos Leao, 27, said he had walked past a piece of caution tape just outside the heavily-guarded building when he saw a U.S. Marine sprinting toward him. He had been listening to music in his headphones at the time, he said, and did not hear their initial orders to stop.
“They told me to get down on the ground,” Leao said. “I basically complied with everything they were saying.”
Members of the Marines and the National Guard then placed Leao in zip ties, detaining him for more than two hours, before releasing him without charges.

He was forced to leave, he left voluntarily and then many people were wondering, where was Khaby Lame. Well, after all he is here in the city of Americana having fun with all those kids. So the mystery is now solved.”
    4. Various of Lame, playing at a children slide
    STORYLINE:
Khaby Lame, the world’s most-followed TikTok personality, appeared at a charity event for children on Friday alongside AC Milan footballer Emerson Royal, just days after leaving the United States following a run-in with immigration authorities.
In a lively and relaxed atmosphere, Lame played “futebol de sabão” — a popular Brazilian game involving a slippery, soapy inflatable soccer field — and was cheered on by the crowd, made up mostly of children.
The event took place in the city of Americana, about 78 miles (125 kilometers) northwest of São Paulo.
Lame left the United States after being detained on June 6 by immigration agents at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa.
The Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, according to a statement from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Lame, who has more than 160 million followers on TikTok, is expected to return to Italy.
He has not commented publicly on his detention or his departure from the United States.
“Today is a special day for them (children),” said Paulo Eduardo Dias Junior Dias Junior, city councilman who organized the event. “I’m sure Khaby will return to Italy very happy, and Emerson Royal is very happy to provide this for the children of the city where he once lived.”

    12. Lame signing t-shirts and throwing them back at the crowd
"Today is a special day for them (children),” said Paulo Eduardo Dias Junior Dias Junior, city councilman who organized the event. “I’m sure Khaby will return to Italy very happy, and Emerson Royal is very happy to provide this for the children of the city where he once lived.”
