    STORYLINE:
Palestinian families were yet again evacuating southern Gaza on Friday following an Israeli military strike targeting an area in Khan Younis.
Taking the few belongings they still carry with them and strapping the onto donkey carts and trucks and are once again forced to leave parts of Khan Younis that the Israeli army ordered to evacuate.
The Palestinian death toll from the 20-month Israel-Hamas war passed 55,000, the Gaza Health Ministry said Wednesday, and hospitals said at least 21 people were killed while on their way to aid distribution sites.
The aid system rolled out last month has been marred by chaos and violence, while a longstanding U.N.-run system has struggled to deliver food because of Israeli restrictions and a breakdown of law and order, despite Israel loosening a total blockade it imposed from early March to mid-May.
Experts and human rights workers say hunger is widespread and that the territory of some 2 million Palestinians is at risk of famine if Israel does not fully lift its blockade and halt its military campaign, which it renewed in March after ending a ceasefire with Hamas.

  • Interceptions seen over West Bank skyline as Iran and Israel continue firing missiles
    (13 Jun 2025)
    RESTRICTION SUMMARY:
    ASSOCIATED PRESS
    Ramallah, West Bank - 14 June 2025
    1. Various of interceptions and explosions seen and heard from Ramallah following missiles launched from Iran towards Israel
    STORYLINE:
Explosions were heard and seen from Ramallah, West Bank early on Saturday, following the Iranian retaliation against the deadly Israel attack in Iran.
Israel launched blistering attacks on the heart of Iran’s nuclear and military structure, deploying warplanes and drones previously smuggled into the country to attack key facilities and kill top generals and scientists - a barrage it said was necessary before its adversary got any closer to building an atomic weapon.
Iran retaliated late Friday by unleashing scores of ballistic missiles on Israel, where explosions flared in the skies over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and buildings shook below.
Israel’s ongoing airstrikes and intelligence operation and Iran’s retaliation raised fears of all-out war between the countries and propelled the region, already on edge, into even greater upheaval.

    STORYLINE:
U.S. Marines have been seen standing guard at a federal building in Los Angeles on Friday.
This comes after protests erupted last week over immigration raids.
Maj. Gen. Scott Sherman, commander of Task Force 51, who’s overseeing the 4,700 troops deployed by President Trump, said the Marines finished training on civil disturbance and are starting their operations by replacing National Guard troops.
The National Guard soldiers can then be assigned to protect more law enforcement agents on raids, Sherman said.
About 200 Marines out of the 700 deployed to the protests are in the city, Sherman said. They have all undergone civil disturbance training.
