A Palestinian UN envoy broke down in tears over children dying in Gaza, delivering an emotional address to the Security Council on Wednesday (28 May) as he described the "unbearable" suffering of Palestinian children amid the ongoing war.

Riyad Mansour struggled to hold back his emotions, saying that he has grandchildren and he “knows what they mean to their families”.

Slamming his fist on the table, he said that Palestinians all around the country are “outraged” by the loss of life.

Mr Mansour said more than 1,300 Palestinian children have been killed and around 4,000 injured since Israel resumed military operations in Gaza following the collapse of a ceasefire in March.

Sir Keir Starmer was accused of letting Nigel Farage live "rent free" in his head by a reporter during a press conference on Thursday (29 May).

The prime minister warned Britons against the Reform leader's "mad" economic plans during a police speech.

Nigel Farage’s “fantasy” economics will lead to a Liz Truss-style economic meltdown, Sir Keir Starmer will warn, after the Reform UK leader set out his party’s proposed policies.

The prime minister is expected to urge the public to reject Reform UK’s calls to use “family finances” as a gambling chip on “unfunded” tax cuts.

This comes after the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) said the party’s pledge to increase the income tax personal allowance to £20,000 a year could cost between £50 to £80 billion a year.

Speaking at a press conference in central London on Tuesday, Mr Farage said his measures were “aimed at British families” as he announced plans to scrap the two-child benefit cap and fully reverse the winter fuel payment cuts.

Donald Trump says Harvard University should have a 15 per cent cap on the number of foreign students it admits and that the Ivy League school needs to show the administration their list of students accepted from outside the United States.

Speaking on Wednesday, 28 May, Mr Trump said, “They should have a cap of maybe around 15 per cent, not 31 per cent. We have people want to go to Harvard and other schools. They can't get in because we have foreign students there.”
