We even travel to the mideast! I give a mini-update to the always crazy goings on with layout construction too. We end up talking about the article that Brooks is doing on my layout for RMC.

It’s that time of year again, when the daffodils are popping out and I’m talking with old buddy Dave Owens about the upcoming New England Proto Meet in Springfield, MA (May 30th and 31st.) We discuss his recent trip to western PA for their RPM meet (which bounces from eastern to western PA in alternate years), as well as some of the trials and tribulations of finding the right venue for a meet. More importantly, we talk about this year’s upcoming meet and what to expect there. Rumor has it that I’ll be doing a clinic Friday afternoon…..

My guest for the first show of 2024 is Robert Stafford, who saw me on the Second Section podcast and reached out to me. Bob has an extensive railroad career in areas that we don’t normally hear much about, including work as an Auditing Inspector with the Eastern Weighing and Inspection Bureau, Eastern Railroad Association. What really got my attention is that Bob covered my modeling area and his visits included customers on my layout like Procter & Gamble at Mehoopany, the paper plant at Ransom and the Masonite plant in Towanda, among others. Listen as he tells the tale of his experiences with various jobs, consignees and railroads.
