We spent the last 9 months in full tilt research mode. Hundreds of musicians were polled and three big themes came back with regards to obstacles in the way of living a healthy lifestyle as a creative: knowledge and accessibility of movement appropriate for the artist, having energy to complete the demands of the day and how to stay focused, motivated and in a positive space.
You guys gave us your insight and we thank you. We heard you. We are excited to announce the winter 2021 intake of the Level 1 Music Fit Method: Movement Coach Certification for Music Industry Professionals. This is an accredited program, equal parts personal and professional development, aimed to educate those that are interested in learning how to radically level up their own quality of life and then have the complete understanding and confidence to teach their newly acquired skills to others.
For more information and to apply to the program, please head to www.musicfitcollective.com
In this week's show, we hear from three talented artists that were so kind to spend some time on the Zoom Zoom with us, discussing their perspectives in the industry. You'll hear from Megan Dawson, singer/songwriter hailing from Calgary, Alberta (megandowsonmusic.com), Sudbury, Ontario's Dan Moir and Danny Binnington over in the UK.
All three artists share what things frustrate them the most about keeping the lifestyle top shelf, discuss their recommendations to help others with similar problems and tell us what they want to be remembered for.
This one is packed full of awesome and what's especially cool is that if any of this resonates with you, you're not alone. We created the Music Fi

Let's be real, folks - the music industry is focused around quantity over quality. We have a lot of demands on our time to deliver content to numerous platforms in order to "stay relevant". But do we? Is it possible to have a deeper connection with the people that dig our music? Let's look at what Transit22 has been doing to carve out his career. He's a heavyweight in Calgary's Hip Hop scene with a true, authentic story, passion for his art and connection with his ever-growing fanbase. The pandemic has seen him grow exponentially in his personal life as a father, more connected to what really matters (that whole purpose thing) and in our conversation we get into how that's all dripped into the business of being a lockdown artist.
Learn more about all the radness he's got going on at here, join the "Couch Money Family" for a weekly dose of exclusive, behind the scenes content and stories from Transit himself. Show some love on the socials and be sure to share this out with those you care about. Especially those who need a bit of inspiration in innovating their brand.

I feel like I would have snapped at someone for saying something like that to me when I was in my most workaholic state but now I believe in finding time to recharge to ensure I find peace and can allow my

Progress, commitment to the lifestyle and consistency. That, coupled with the fact that many of us don't know where to look or can't afford proactive services like exercise conditioning are 5 of the reasons why you may not be getting as much from life as you'd like. Our guest today, Joel Porayko - Strength and Conditioning Coach, singer/songwriter and Physical Literacy student at MRU gives us a run down on what he's doing to help remedy that, as well as what's on his typical workout playlist and what exercise trends he's noticed as 2021 unrolls.
Please reach out to Joel to jump into his live online workouts each week or check out his online exercise programming "30 RX" program. Just a dollar a day! Head to the site below, shoot him a note with the discount code "Unicorn" and he'll help you out with your registration.

What the eff does "be well" mean anyway? It seems like this past year has carved out two camps, those who lead and those who don't. Those who lead are free from interruption and the rest are still waiting for someone else to give them permission to do something.
We got to sit down with Matthew Cataldo of Montreal's Sombra, a band that makes music to turn off the lights to. They've been tearing it up this past year, and Matthew shares some of his experiences that lead to the production of "Free From Interruption". We get into how mental wellbeing and health in general plays a critical part in the rock star lifestyle. He's shown the way for others to follow and invest their time into themselves, get all weird and introspective and come out the other side with a laundry list of lessons learned. Alliteration aside, this was an awesome conversation and we're excited to share this as the pilot episode of the brand, spanking new Music Fit Podcast.
Let's do this thing!
Check out Sombra's latest album "Free From Interruption" at https://sombramtl.bandcamp.com/
And hit 'em up on the gram at @sombra.mtl

Well, 2020 has been a ride. Totally a year to remember, learn from and grow. My guest and I on today's show, decide to get into the thick of things with regards to sexual imagery, body shaming and oftentimes subconscious stings that affect our expectations in many facets of our lives. 2020 just highlights it as everything has gone virtual and in an era where digital is "king" (sexist metaphor acknowledged), maybe now's a good time to make it Queen.
And as I mentioned before we start the convo, please reach out if you're feeling the heat and wanna talk. If you're a musician check out these organizations and open up to someone. Completely free and confidential and if they aren't the right fit, they'll direct you to the right people.

In part three of my convo with Doug Piller we discuss a bunch of radical music, how storytelling and Steel Mace Flow go hand in hand, the importance of breath, who Doug specializes with and what's next for him and perhaps the greatest lesson I took from our whole 3 hour chat; why sharing your dreams with the world is the key to unlocking your higher self.

Have you ever found yourself saying something like "Ah, no thanks - It's all good" when someone tried to buy you a coffee? Or when they try to pay you a compliment you come up with some shitty reason they shouldn't have said it ...? I've been there, but now it just drives my bonkers when I hear it. Just say "thank you"!
My guest Doug Piller gets super vulnerable with me as we talk about the stories we've been reshaping and strategies to help you shape yours.

Ever heard the phrase "when you continue to have the same problem that problem is you"?
You can imagine how critical it would be to have the ability to recognize patterns and disrupt the ones that'd kill you in a literal war zone. However, the daily choices we make are often disregarded as life and death situations on their own, until they pile up higher than a bunch of monks in an opium pit. Today on part 1 of my marathon chat with US Marine, Enlifted Level 2, Steel Mace Flow Level 1 with Honors and CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Doug Piller we get into the effects of language on our behaviour, how different coaching styles suit different people at different times and Doug's unique background and how he's learned from his past to move forward to be the best he can each day. This dude's a legend and one of my coaches so I'm very excited to share with you all the power that be with these next few shows.
Please share this one out with someone you care about if you dig it.
