When I think about grief, of course I (especially given my circumstances) first think about the loss of a loved one through death. I would imagine that is what most people initially think of when they talk about grief.
However, grief at its core is “the response to loss”. We began last episode talking about that a little with Petra, and this episode is chock FULL of such incredible wisdom surrounding this in my conversation with my friend Sarah.
In this episode, we discuss…
- How Sarah navigated a canceled wedding and celebrations amidst the pandemic
How to develop new friendships as an adultWhy there’s a fear about praying specific prayers, and why it’s important toHow to pluck out bitterness when you aren’t being celebrated the way you celebrate othersWhat Lemonade Day is and how we can each learn from the reason behind itWhy your friends need to feel seen
Sarah is someone I’ve always known to bring such insight and authenticity to everything she does, and this conversation is no different! If you have experienced the loss of a life milestone, struggle with bitterness, are curious to hear about grief from a non-death perspective, or relate to any of the things above, this is the episode to listen to.
Also, connect with Sarah for an incredible friendship and beautiful food! @sarahlindsaypogue
