The purpose of chastisement is to move us towards holiness and produces the peaceable fruit of righteousness. The purpose of the Bible is to train us and equip us to look more like Christ. We must put our hope fully upon the grace of Jesus Christ.

The wages of sin is death. When we leave the will of God we are chastised. Hebrews 12-11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful- nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

When we abide with the Lord our joy will be full. Our relationship is based upon Holiness. Do we love God because of what we get or because of a desire to pursue Holiness- Holiness is profitable because it is scriptural and always available for instruction. Then we find peace and contentment.

Subjection to Christ isn't discussed much in Church today. Scripture tells us to pick up our cross and follow Him. In order to do this we must deny ourselves and give full control of our lives to God. We must live according to His purpose.

As a child of God we are chastened. We sometimes go through trials that make us more like the Lord. We must endure, abide, remain and last. If we do His will we will bear the fruit of righteousness.

We are to look more and more like Christ as our walk with Him deepens. It is no wonder our Father chastens us. Sometimes we are chastened for reasons of sin in our life and other times it purely for spiritual growth. This glorifies God.

We are to honor God by walking and following His commandments. There is a danger in drifting We have a responsibility to pursue holiness.

The world hated Christ before it hated us. They had no cause to hate him just like they have no cause to hate us. When we face trials and tribulations we should look to Christ as our example. As we take a a stand the world watches us. We should be steadfast in all that we do for Christ.

The life that Christ lived was serving God which was the motive of His life. The joy that was set before Him was finishing the task of God. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.We should live our life in obedience to God while considering our future home in Heaven.
