On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Mark are joined by author Tanner Roberts. Tanner is a conservative millennial, and now author, who has some great insight into economic issues and politics in general.

Chuck and Mark start off by discussing Tanner’s new book, Dumb Politics: The Political Rhetorical and Blissful Ignorance of a Generation, that focuses on today’s political landscape.

Tanner’s book details some of the reasons that we have high tensions in politics and a growing ignorance among the younger generations. They discuss some of the ignorant and emotional rhetoric used to promote policies today.

Their conversation continues with the economic consequences of the policy proposals of the Democratic hopefuls running in 2020. They discuss how it would target the middle class and eliminate all economic growth. Their conversation also covers the reasons that the younger generations are in support of these policies.

They finish up today’s show by discussing the importance of responsibility and why entitlement has drawn younger generations to socialist policies. They discuss the importance of having the right mindset and speaking up about personal beliefs. Their conversation also touches on the importance of supporting conservatives in the media who come out to share their views.

Born in Houston, Texas, Tanner Thomas Roberts has always had a passion for learning, reading and politics. Tanner graduated from Texas A&M in 2013 with a B.S. in Economics and received a Business Economics Certificate (BEC) which focuses on integrating the practical skills taught in Mays Business School with the analytical tools of economics. Currently, Tanner works as a Director of Business Development at a technology consulting company overseeing some of the largest sales growth in company history.

Tanner’s book recently hit the shelves and brings together many different aspects of politics today. In his book, Dumb Politics: The Political Rhetoric and Blissful Ignorance of a Generation, Tanner T. Roberts explains the origins of dumb politics and how to recognize when we are bombarded with the language of the left so we can raise a generation who will give a hand up rather than expect a hand out. A rabid focus on equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity preys on a citizen’s feelings to promote policies. Because of dumb politics, its ideologies have infiltrated other aspects of our society: education, culture, economics and immigration.

Tanner is a musician and enjoys writing music on both guitar and piano. He enjoys being terrible at golf and living an active lifestyle. At a young age, he began collecting comic books and continues to be an avid collector to feed his inner nerd.
