Mental strategies are so useful. In my experience training clients so far, I've realized that many people cannot get out of their own way.
I was like this too.
Here's the thing, you can know all the information, do all the "right" things, and still not lose weight.
You MUST shift your mindset.
Today I discuss a mental strategy I began to implement to never give up again!

Losing weight does not have to be as tedious as we (as a society) make it out to be. We can simplify it.
So I decided to do just that.
When I began my fitness journey I DID NOT want to track calories, however I didn't know anything about food, so I did it.
Then about a year ago, I got extremely lean, and lost a lot of fat in the process, so I began to reflect how I did, and i created what I'm now calling my Pillars for Effortless Fat Loss.
For you my good listener it's available for free, along with this episode.

Today I'm sharing the 5 things that I used to get more comfortable at the gym. These honestly don't even just apply to the gym, this could apply to you as well if you're at home working out.
1. Wear Clothes You Like
2. Accept That You're Going to Mess Up
3. Practice Exercises You're Unfamiliar With
4. Focus on Why You're There
5. Be Your Biggest Supporter

What happen when you say you'll start the diet monday?
When you say you'll go to the gym on monday?
When it's just one cheat meal, I'll get back on track tomorrow?
And you don't do it. It begins to erode the trust you have within yourself, and that is something that you'll need to achieve your weight loss goals!

When it comes to nutrition, it doesn't have to be super complicated. It's one of the things I work with my clients on the most.
Keep it simple.
Fundamentally speaking, if you focused on 80% whole foods, and prioritized your protein above all else, you'll have way more success rather than obsessing over food.

Today, I sat down pondered the 5 biggest takeaways from my own health and fitness journey.
I've learned SOO much, and I'm only just getting started.
The cool thing is you can all learn from the mistakes I've made, so I wanted to share the 5 biggest lessons I've learned my own my own experience!
1. Mindset - What story are you telling yourself about yourself? It matters. If you believe you're unworthy of losing weight, if you believe you're not good enough to look better, if you always see the fat person in the mirror, then that's always going to hinder you.
2. Habits - Your eating habits will reflect your weight, your activity habits will reflect your fitness level, your income will reflect your working habits. Habits dictate long term fitness results.
3. Clarity - BE VERY CLEAR about the goal you wish to achieve, wanting to lose weight is not enough. How much weight would you like to lose? How do you want to feel? Where do you want to see the changes?
4. Sustainability - Is your training & nutrition working well for you? Can you sustain it long term? Do you ENJOY it?
5. Mobility - Oh man.... this one. 23 Year old me needed this, but he sadly neglected it! Being able to get into good positions while training is important. Flexibility will never be enough. Be sure to work mobility often.

I've experienced many things in the last year, and luckily I've created a smaller circle of people who have help me along the way.
It's a powerful thing, having a community of people who will be brutally honest with you, especially when you need it the most.
I recently had a conversation with somebody who enlightened me on how my actions come across and this has changed EVERYTHING.
So I encourage you to listen to this episode, really digest it, and ponder the same things I did.

The biggest lesson I've learned through my fitness journey, in business and through coaching is I'm not a patience man.
What this realization empowered me to do was to seek mind shifts to begin empowering me
Because of this I came up with concept of being AGGRESSIVELY PATIENT.
