  • Bridging Generations: Embracing Intergenerational Wisdom and Authenticity for Unity

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever felt the sting of generational shaming or struggled to bridge the gap between the wisdom of elders and the zeal of youth?

Our latest episode of Mindfully with Mishi is a heartfelt call to action, inviting listeners of all ages to foster a space where growth and understanding can flourish.

Tunmise and Ola will guide you through stories and reflections that shed light on the cyclical nature of generational conflict and the importance of breaking free from these patterns.

This week's conversation delves into the silent battles we wage with our pasts, pondering how the trauma from unfulfilled desires can cast shadows on our present interactions.

We'll confront the complexities of parenting, workplace dynamics, and societal roles, emphasizing how self-awareness can be a powerful tool for intergenerational healing.

It's an exploration of mutual respect and understanding between Gen Z, millennials, the silent generation, and everyone in between, where I bring to light the Yoruba proverbs that have guided many through the intricacies of age-old wisdom and youthful innovation.

As we wrap up, the focus turns to authenticity and how a lack of it can fuel mistrust between generations.

I'm here to remind you of the importance of loving ourselves and each other, no matter the age, and to challenge the narratives that have, for too long, divided us.

The thread that weaves through our discussions is one of curiosity, authenticity, and love – a triad that transcends generational stereotypes and paves the way for a unified and compassionate community.

Join me on this journey of living mindfully, and let's embrace the collective wisdom that each generation brings to the table.

  • Journeying Beyond Attachment for Serenity and Personal Evolution

    Send us Fan Mail

Reflecting on a moment of revelation, I realized the profound peace that comes from embracing the ephemeral nature of life's experiences. Alongside my co-host Olamipo Akinola Dawodu, we journey through the delicate intricacies of emotional release in our latest episode, examining how letting go can transform our existence into one of serenity and contentment.

We're not just talking about romantic entanglements; this is a holistic approach to loosening the ties binding us to people, dreams, and the material world.

Our conversation delves into the courage it takes to navigate the silent aftermath of ghosting, the resilience to trust again, and the strength required to reconstruct understanding with someone who's left without a word.

We share personal stories that illustrate the transformative power of clear communication and the redefining of relationships, guiding you through spaces where you're celebrated, not merely tolerated.

The episode is a testament to the growth that comes from embracing change and encouraging listeners to foster an environment conducive to their well-being.

We wrap up with a promise to dissect generational shaming in upcoming talks, ensuring our table hosts a mosaic of generational perspectives.

I also recommend poignant literature that's touched us, like "There's Heaven for Bad Girls," and hint at the sequel to "Living Mindfully: A Journey to Being."

Our discussion stands as an invitation to a voyage of self-discovery, where we learn the art of self-love, build resilience, and find peace in the transient beauty of life's tapestry. Resources for navigating crucial conversations await in the show notes, a compass for steering through the seas of personal transformation.

  • The Quiet Interlude of Introspection as a New Chapter Unfolds

    Send us Fan Mail

As the calendar pages turn, it's not just about inked resolutions but the very essence of introspection and growth that comes with a new year.

I've felt the waning fervour of January's promises myself, facing health hurdles and a birthday that prompted deep reflection on where I've been and where I aim to go.

So here's a heartfelt invitation to join me on a two-week journey without new content from Mindfully with Tunmise but rather a time to recharge, reflect, and prepare ourselves for the conversations ahead.

It's a chance to set intentions or recalibrate them, not dictated by the date, but by the readiness of our spirit to embrace the year's voyage at our own unique pace.

In the spirit of reflection, we revisit the candid discussions about masculinity with guests Hanamel, Sean Ambassador, Femi Jubal and Emmanuel Bright Effiong, whose openness and courage have left an indelible mark on our community.

As I prepare for this brief interlude, I'll curate and re-share some of our most stirring stories for those who might have missed these gems.

Remembering Alan Rickman's portrayal of complexity as Professor Severus Snape, I'm reminded of the delicate balance between light and dark, a theme that will continue to resonate in our upcoming explorations, including the nuanced topic of generational shaming.

My book, "Living Mindfully: A Journey to Being," stands as a testament to the labyrinth of living with bipolar affective disorder and is an invitation for you to support this journey towards a mindful existence.

Have you ever felt confined by the traditional roles society has scripted for you?

My guest, Emmanuel Bright-Effiong stylised as Emmagination, walks us through this very feeling, as he shares his quest to step away from being a husband, a father, and a provider, to explore alternative identities.

Together, we navigate the labyrinth of masculinity, societal pressures, and the desire to shatter expectations, providing a fresh perspective on the power of social experiments in expanding our understanding of this complex world.

Men's mental health is an area that often goes unnoticed, brushed under the carpet of societal norms that discourage emotional openness.

We journey through this topic, shedding light on men's mental health, and the urgent need for increased awareness and support.

We also challenge the clichéd notions of men as logical beings and women as emotional ones, advocating for emotional expression without fear of judgment and understanding the people around us as individuals, not mere gender stereotypes.

Our exploration doesn't stop at societal norms and mental health.

We dive into the world of love languages and their significant role in parenting, particularly for boys.

Be it the concept of positive masculinity or the importance of liberating men from the shackles of societal expectations, our conversation is bound to leave you pondering.

We also delve into the importance of mindfulness, self-love, and open communication in relationships, offering listeners a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of gender expectations.
