Bereavement is something that affects all of us at one time or another. Child Bereavement UK are a national UK charity setup to help in two specific times, for children who have been bereaved and for parents who are bereaved of children.

In this conversation we talk about the important work that the charity does with people of all ages along with sharing stories of some of the coping strategies of those who have suffered from bereavement.

For the last 2 years I have run a project called A Life A Day, offering a free call to 365 people over the course of each year.

We made the project bigger in 2019 by adding in the idea of "Paying It Forward" and in 2020 I intend to make it exponentially bigger still!

It Takes A Village will involve many other people giving their time, attention, efforts, products or services to those in need with the aim to impact several lives every single day throughout the year.

In November 2019 I was invited to speak for an organisation called BIGGA, the British International Golf Greenkeepers Association.

For this talk we wanted to look at a broad spectrum of mindset and mental health topics, but particularly focusing around the big issues that affect all of us.

We are becoming increasingly aware about the statistics surrounding male suicide nowadays. But statistics only tell us part of the story.

There's a lot of truth in the fact that thinking (and especially acting) positive can have a massive impact on you. But the problem is negativity comes natural and positivity... well... it requires WORK!

That leads us to believe it's not natural and it's not "us". Or maybe we get into the swing of it for a little while and then negativity creeps back in and we revert to our old ways?

Positivity is a skill! A skill that needs regular investment, just like any other. If we don't invest in it then negativity will naturally come and bite us in our collective arse!

He launched his own podcast "Just Man Up Social" with the motto "Silence is not the answer, laughter is" and a goal to help more men open up and normalise the conversation around mental health.

I'm back from Peru! And although I wanted to come crashing in with an awesome episode about comfort zones that will have to wait.

Right now I feel it is important to highlight how for some of us doing awesome stuff is an invitation for somewhat of a rebound.

I'm on that rebound right now and I figured that the best way I could serve my audience was with a bit of honesty and vulnerability.

Fergus Crawley is a mental health awareness advocate and activist who (amongst other things) uses brutal fitness challenges to raise awareness of mental health and particualrly male suicide in the UK.

This November Fergus is taking part in not one, not two, but three epic fitness challenges in aid of MoVember. He also has an epic moustache so he is Movember through and through.
