The Arts are in for big changes as my guest, Susanne Puerschel and I start making an impact from the inside out. The beliefs that we are plagues with aren't just the beliefs we as artists have. These beliefs are infecting the companies we are working for too.

  • Movement Heals with Ricardo Barrett

As performers we are told what to do and how to do it.

My guest this week, Ricardo Barrett, shares his incredible journey of finding his own way of moving and connecting the body back to the heart. In this conversation Ricardo tells his story of how he found his passion for the stage as well as how he started to find his way back to himself when on the outside his life looked great, but inside he felt like he didn't know what he was doing anymore.

Ricardo attended the American Musical and Dramatic Arts Academy in Los Angeles and after graduating was a three year member of The Jamaica Junior Theatre Company as well as The Company Dance Theatre, under the direction of Tony Wilson. Then in 2015 he left for the Martha Graham School and became a member of Graham 2. During that same time he performed Amanda Kreglow’s “In The Midst of Dying” on TED Talks Live “War & Peace”,  along with multiple Graham and contemporary works by choreographers like Adam Barruch and Virginie Mecene. Ricardo was a member of the second Company for three years and an Apprentice with the Martha Graham first company for 2 years. Ricardo is currently a member of Alison Cook-Beatty Dance, Buglisi Dance Theatre and Dzul dance as well as a trained actor and dance teacher who loves to explore different forms and styles of artistic expression.

This conversation was filled with incredible energy, synchronicities and more. Make sure to share this with a friend so they can get in on this energy too!

  • Let Go of the Timeline

Creating a plan and a timeline can sometimes bring you comfort, but when things don't work out exactly according to your plan it can lead to a lot of disappointment. Coming from a former micromanager and obsessive planner, I know what it's like to feel like I need all the details of my life. After completely exhausting myself by making plan after plan I finally realized that I was missing the moments that were right in front of my eyes.

When you surrender to the Universe miracles happen. They are already happening and the more you let go, the more you'll notice them.

    Return to Broadway Program:
If you're unsure of how to get back to rehearsals and performances after a year+ break, you're not alone. This is the first time performing arts has had a true off-season, and no amount of dancing in your kitchen or at-home workouts can really prepare you for the real thing.
This is an 8-week program designed for performing artists to get back to the stage physically and mentally. Using the same training principles and processes as other professional athletes with the knowledge of performing and its common injuries, this program will get you fully prepared for the demands of performing on stage.

  • Unedited Bonus: Pleasure is Power

This is a completely unedited mini episode. I have been having INCREDIBLE realizations and breakthroughs around pleasure, sensuality, divine femininity and my obsession with manifesting my soulmate. I felt SO called to share my thoughts with you guys that I got out of the bath and immediately started recording... like legit sat on my floor naked and just started talking haha!

As a mentor it can be easy to put up a front and only talk about things that you already know, but as a human being I think it is important to share the things that you are coming to know. This bonus episode is me experiencing this sense of knowing for the first time when it comes to these topics. This is a conversation straight from my second chakra.

    Enjoy!

  • Bye Bye Hustle Culture!

Hustling ain’t cute anymore and that mentality has GOT to go!
This industry romanticizes the “grind” and the “hustle” as being worth it and fun... but is it?
I've been there thinking it's a badge of honor to be working so much you barely have time for a  day off. In truth it's just exhausting and  it isn't fun at all! That's why I wanted to bring up this topic and shed some light on why we are so addicted to it.

If you like this episode please rate and review the podcast so that more people can find it. Also share it with your audition buddy. The only way to eliminate the hustle mentality is for everyone to start realizing there is another way so spread the word!

  • There Are No Norms with Sheina Raskin

This week I am joined by a new friend I met through Instagram! Sheina is a dancer and traveler from Melbourne, Australia. Although she entered the dance world quite late in the industry, at 20 years old, she realized that it was her passion and went to all lengths to make it a part of her life. Fast forward a few years and she was teaching and performing abroad while also freelancing as a content creator. She created a lifestyle that gave her the freedom to travel and now she teaches dancers how to do the same. Her mission is to help dancers go from accepting the 'struggling artist' mindset to a lifestyle of freedom.

In this episode we talk about comparison on social media and how to handle that as a dancer and as you use the platform as a source of income. We also dive into Sheina's travel and how she has made her mental spiritual and emotional health a priority over the last year.

If you like this episode, make sure to share it with a friend or on Instagram and tag Sheina and me. Thank you for choosing this podcast it means the world to me!
