  • Jumia (JMIA) Stock: A Bet On Africa's E-commerce Industry

Jumia has seen an amazing run in 2020 as it's up 530% YTD as of January 7th, 2020. Many people coin Jumia as "The Amazon of Africa", but does that justify its current valuation today? I think so, but there are a few red flags that have kept me from investing so far. After this 20% pull-back from ATH however, I'm looking to build a small position. Let's discuss why.

Jumia Technologies operates an e-commerce platform in Africa. The company's platform consists of a marketplace, which connects sellers with consumers; logistics service that enables the shipment and delivery of packages from sellers to consumers; and payment service, which facilitates transactions to participants active on the company's platform in selected markets. Its marketplace offers various products in a range of categories, as well as access to various services, such as restaurant food delivery, hotel and flight booking, classified advertising, airtime recharge, and instant delivery.

  • Sofi (IPOE) Stock: The Future of Finance

On January 7th, 2021, fintech start-up SoFi (IPOE) announced that they are going public via SPAC backed by Chamath Palihapitiya.

SoFi’s mission is to help people achieve financial independence by getting their money right, providing access to a comprehensive suite of services in a single app that empowers members to borrow, save, spend, invest and protect their money. SoFi’s one-stop shop, multi-product strategy, and leading technology platform, Galileo, place the company at the epicenter of the digital revolution in financial services.

I've been interested in investing in Sofi for a while now. Rumors were spreading last year that Sofi was looking to go public, and upon hearing that Chamath was taking it public I knew I had to look into it as a potential investment. So let's take a deep look into what Sofi is all about, and if it's a good buy today.

  • Fubo Tv (FUBO) Stock: Down 60% in 2 Weeks. Is it a Buy Now?

Fubo Tv shareholders have been on a wild ride this past month as its seen the stock rise from $26 to an all-time high of $62. This was primarily driven by analyst upgrades, most notably from Needham's Laura Martin giving Fubo a price target of $60. Not only a day later, Lightshed's Rich Greenfield came out with a short report with a price target of $8. Shortly after, a few other downgrades came out sending this stock crashing to below the price when Martin gave it an upgrade.

So is Fubo Tv stock a buy today? After this recent selloff, it looks really attractive. On Tuesday, Jan 5, 2020, Fubo Tv just announced its preliminary results for Q4. It exceeded expectations and the stock saw a drastic bounce of 20% from its lows of $24. Let's discuss what Fubo Tv is all about, its future potential, and what I plan on doing with the stock.

2020 was a wild ride for the stock market as it ended the year at a record high, to which many wouldn't have believed it could achieve in the March lows of this year. If this year has taught me anything, is that time in the market beats timing the market.

I'm looking forward to what 2021 has to offer. After watching these stocks perform this year, I'm hoping to start building (or adding to) a position in the companies I'm talking about today.
