In this episode, I share my experience with the concept of "emotional safety" and cognitive dissonance in my marriage to a narcissist. 

Many people who have been involved with a narcissist will tell you that the emotional safety they felt during their relationship was only an illusion. In truth, there is no sense of security because it takes little to nothing for the person on which your love and attention have depended so greatly to turn against you in anger or frustration. The experience can be traumatic but also teaches us valuable lessons about what we are willing risk pursuing relationships that I otherwise would not go near - even when those risks seem worth it at first glance.

I wasn't sure if I should talk about this at all, since sex is a very private and vulnerable topic for anyone, but I feel that this was such an important aspect of my marriage to the narcissist. Narcissists view sex very differently and they use it to gain power and narcissistic supply, not to connect and be intimate with their partner. In this episode, I share my journey with sex with the narcissist.
