Gary Hurley of the Fisherman's Post is a busy dude.  He started, in 2003, a free weekly paper for fishermen by fishermen.  Since then he has added fishing schools, paid fishing reports, fishing tournaments, and a podcast.  All while continuing to teach at his local college and still fish a bunch.  Always interesting and busy, Gary is an everyman for this century.

Our guest for Ep 18 is Keith Tongier, aka The Drum Bum,  of TW's Tackle in Kitty Hawk, NC. The Drum Bum is one of the most knowledgeable guys we know when it comes to fishing.  He always has his finger on the pulse of what is biting and where.  What we did not know is that Keith is also one of the funniest guys we know.  You will have to forgive the editing in this one.  We were slapping the table while laughing and the mics were peaking constantly.  We finally gave up trying to keep him on point. It wasn't until near the end we actually got around to talking about his tackle company Drum Bum tackle.  His rigs and lures can be found in  most local tackle stores and on the web at www.drumbumobx.com.

We try.  We really do try.  We thought it would be a breeze putting up a podcast.  It isn't. Not even close to being easy.  Two guys with families, other jobs, and both who fish over 200 trips a year.  Well, the good thing is we really enjoy doing them when we get a chance.  In this episode we talk about Dave's tournament win and his big sailfish he caught while flounder fishing.  All in all we just ramble for over 30 minutes and don't teach you a thing.  Enjoy!

There are a handful of guys Dave and I agreed we had to get on this podcast to build a base because they have been doing the fishing gig so long they bring immediate credibility whenever they speak.  Capt Bryan is one of those guests that was placed in the "gotta have" category.  Bryan has probably forgotten more than Dave and I know about inshore fishing.  Bryan has forgotten so much he didn't even remember when i told him about the time he made my day for me.  If you like to hear stories about some of the biggest names in this business this two part episode if worth your time.

Capt Bud Bishop is what is known as a "Guide's Guide."  Some guys just have a natural aptitude for finding and catching.  Bud is one of these.  In this episode Bud lays out for us his rotation of locations that he guides at throughout the year; making him one of the few full time watermen.  Bud also drops the bomb on me as to what he did before he went full time.  I would never have guessed.

Ep 14 focuses on the almost non existent cobia fishing season we had on the OBX of North Carolina.  For months we get excited and prepared for this and then it more or less doesn't happen.  But, as a guide we can't sit back and make excuses and not go.  We still have to catch and put our clients on fish.  Somedays it is easier said than done.
