  • Twin Peaks | Missing Frames #15
    It's happening again.

Shawn has just finished his first viewing of Twin Peaks. John has been a fan since the show first aired back in 1990. In this episode of Missing Frames, the two join forces to discuss this landmark series, its controversial prequel Fire Walk With Me and the first two episodes of the new series/season/revival/whatever. Grab a damn fine cup of coffee, a slice of cherry pie, a log, an arm, and whatever other references you can think of, and enjoy this truly epic entry in the Missing Frames saga.

  • Slither (2006) | Missing Frames #14
Nearly a decade before he hit it big with Guardians of the Galaxy, writer/director James Gunn made a low-budget horror film called Slither. Gunn's 2006 debut might have only made $12 million on a $15 million budget, but through the years it's garnered something of a cult following. To celebrate the theatrical release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the Missing Frames crew decided to sit down and watch Slither for the first time ever. Tune in to find out if this little horror movie managed to slither its way into their hearts.

  • The Fast and the Furious Franchise | Missing Frames #13
This episode contains FULL SPOILERS for the entire Fast and Furious series. If you're not up to date, listen at your own peril.

Missing Frames is back in full force with a doozy of an episode. Inspired by last weekend's release of The Fate of the Furious, Shawn has decided at long last to sit down and watch through the entire Fast and Furious series for the FIRST TIME EVER. Joining him for this supercharged episode is fellow Nerd Partier and Fast and Furious fan John Mills. Tune in (up?) as they discuss this franchise's unique journey from moderately grounded Point Break ripoff to the insane blockbuster action series it has become. Will the epic car chases and Vin Diesel's rippling muscles make Shawn a convert or will he crash and burn? Hop in your Charger, crank up the volume (and the NOS) and ride or die with this new episode of Missing Frames.

  • Power Rangers | Missing Frames #0.01: Between Takes
Missing Frames host Shawn recently had the opportunity to see the new Power Rangers with his wife Sarah. As a child of the 90s, Shawn had something of a moral obligation to see the film; Sarah on the other hand has never seen a single episode of the series. In this Between Takes mini-episode of Missing Frames (recorded on Shawn's iPhone, so please forgive the audio quality), the two of them discuss the pros and cons of this reboot/requel/whatever, and whether or not a Power Rangers movie could ever truly be taken seriously.

  • The Godfather (1972) | Missing Frames #12
On March 15, 1972, Francis Ford Coppola's cinematic adaptation of Mario Puzo's best-selling novel The Godfather was released in theaters. The film was a huge hit, the highest grossing of 1972, and went on to be nominated for nine Academy Awards, ultimately winning three including Best Picture. Today, it is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time, if not THE greatest.

And, wouldn't you know it, Missing Frames co-host Alex Beard has never had the pleasure of watching it. Shawn Eastridge joins Alex on the 45th anniversary of the film's release to watch and discuss this absolute masterpiece.

  • Before Sunrise (1995) | Missing Frames #11
In January 1995, Richard Linklater's fourth feature Before Sunrise was released in theaters. While it was by no means a box office smash, the film, which stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, has since gone on to develop something of a cult following and many have declared it, along with its two sequels Before Sunset and Before Midnight, as one of the defining cinematic romances of all time. It also happens to be one of Shawn's favorite movies.

Join Shawn and fellow Nerd Partier John Mills as they sit down for John's first-ever viewing of Before Sunrise. Along the way, they'll not only discuss the anxiety that comes with sharing a favorite movie with someone who's never seen it before, they'll also swap stories about past romances and discuss the importance of communicating and connecting with one another. Fingers crossed that the pair won't have to wait nine years before they reunite to discuss Before Sunset.

  • The Notebook (2004) | Missing Frames #10
The Notebook is considered by many to be one of the great romantic movies of all time, and what better time to watch a beloved romantic movie than the weekend before Valentine's Day? Will The Notebook live up to its reputation? Only one way to find out. So snuggle up with a loved one and check out this landmark TENTH EPISODE of  Missing Frames.

  • 1984 (1984) | Missing Frames #9
George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel 1984 is one of Missing Frames host Shawn Eastridge’s all-time favorites. And though Michael Radford’s film adaptation (released in 1984) has a decent reputation thanks to Roger Deakins’ stunning cinematography and John Hurt’s esteemed lead performance, Shawn has avoided it out of fear that it wouldn’t live up to his expectations.

    But no more.

Join Shawn and co-hosts Brandon and Lindsey Kendrick as they discuss 1984 and the risks that come with adapting a beloved novel to the big screen.

And remember…Big Brother is watching you…

NOTE: As if 1984 wasn't depressing enough, we got the news that John Hurt had passed away while we were recording this episode. We want to extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family. He was one of the all-time greats and we're glad we could honor his memory with a viewing of one of his finest performances.

  • Labyrinth (1986) | Missing Frames #8
Released in 1986, Jim Henson's final film Labyrinth was a bit of a flop both financially and critically. In the years since it's release, however, it's become something of a cult classic and has an incredibly devoted following. In honor of David Bowie, who passed away one year ago this past Tuesday, Shawn Eastridge has decided to finally sit down and watch it for the first time, and he has recruited Labyrinth-devotee Lindsey Kendrick to guide him through this creative, fantastical world. Did the film live up to Shawn's expectations? Tune in to find out!

  • The Blues Brothers (1980) | Missing Frames #7
The Blues Brothers is one of the greatest comedies of all time. Few films have successfully meshed so many different genres and emerged victorious. It's a comedy, a musical and an action movie; for years it even held the record for most crashed cars in a single film. It's excessive in the best way possible and features one of Carrie Fisher's most memorable performances in a film. In honor of her memory, join Shawn and his wife Sarah as they sit down for Sarah's first ever viewing of The Blues Brothers.
