  • Ep81: Hanging with the Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo Club
In a first for the podcast we talk to a group, the Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo Club. Isaque, Hiram, Lee and Jonathan are the men behind the scene sparking, enabling and empowering a group of car owners all over the world. Their expertise on adding forced induction to base model Lancers is fueled by their passion to stray from the beaten path. Owners who would normally just get told to "go buy an Evo" and that they’re “wasting their time”. These guys didn’t listen to that advice and I for one am very thankful that they didn’t. We talk about the origins of the club, the members and where the members are in the world. We talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the base Lancer chassis and the engines and transmissions that come with them. This episode has some incredibly valuable information for all of those out there with a 4B11 or 4B12 powered vehicle and are looking to gain more power from it. The guys also reach out an invitation to join the Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo Club to gain more access to this incredible knowledge base.

Craig's Evo has always been one of my favorites, not because it was crazy fast or anything but because everything Craig was doing to the car was something anyone could do. He sent in an update, what felt like every week, he was constantly grinding and chipping away at his 9 second goal. In this episode I have the honor to sit down and talk to him about this grind and the man behind the keyboard helping him, Soto from Soto Tuning Solutions. We talk to them about when Craig got the car and his original goals with it and why he chose the Evo in the first place. They explain the name behind the Carnage Evo, which may not be what you think. Craig and Soto talk about the numerous setups that they have had in the car over the years. They talk about what it took to run 10s and the struggle to run a 9.
