So when I first got into MLM I had no clue what to do, and that's why MLMs typically have some type of quick start program to get people started in the business, well I attended this a few weeks after joining the company because they had it once every other month or something and basically in the quick start training what happened was we went in at 9AM and they started going through the business, the comp plans and allll the boring details and then explained what the MLM did and they gave us some scripts and ways to pitch and talk to people and after they gave us these scripts and pitches they made us get out our phones and go through the contacts and made us write down 25 people that we are either good friends with or related to and then they said "Ok so now that we have these lists and scripts put together, you guys can do it in here, go into the hallway, go out to your car, do whatever makes you feel most comfortable and call these people and follow the scripts." So I went out to my car got everything together and booked about 12 appointments and went on them and didn't make any money yet because I needed 3 packets completed to move onto the level where I get paid commissions, which is a whole other story about how they sort of set us up for failure but then the guy mentoring me, he's an awesome guy and actually got me into the mindset of sales and marketing and learning all of this stuff, he told me that the way to make money in this MLM is recruit and have your downline do the work and book the appointments for you and there were other people I knew that were in this MLM that were in my social group that were doing pretty well, they weren't the ones that recruited me because I thought this was a job opportunity not an MLM when I went to the hotel meeting but what I noticed was everybody was posting the same thing and saying the same script on facebook and other social medias… And everybody was saying they'd get someone a cheaper deal than the other and I started doing it too because from what I could tell, they were making good money doing it… Till I started doing it and realized they were only making a couple bucks per sale and then when people joined they were getting them in at the lowest level so I figured out they were making like an extra $200 a month after paying for all these home meetings and stuff and in the back of my head I was like there is no way to 1) make this duplicable or 2) make any freaking money off of this…

I thought to myself: I'm getting scammed! And that's what sort of lead me to quit trying to pitch my MLM on the first go around because I couldn't make any money or stand out the way they were teaching me…

So when I started getting into sales and marketing and learning I figured out that this situation I was in where everybody is selling the same product or opportunity, it's all cut from the same cloth, it's cookie cutter and its all the same sales pitch and sales script they call this a red ocean. Essentially what they said in the book was that mostly any business nowadays is in a red ocean and they are all competing on price, and these businesses, including you in your MLM is essentially selling a commodity so the cheapest person or the best person wins the customer.

• Explain on how amazon can beat anybody in pricing, people like Walmart are trying to compete and can't because of overhead of storefronts

And they went into how to stand out from the competition and I remembered learning this from reading the book a year ago and when I joined my MLM I started using this to my advantage and what I learned was that since everybody is selling the same thing I had to create something unique, instead of selling the same product or same opportunity and racing to the bottom on price, I needed to start selling a solution and solving their problems so that's what I am starting to do is NOT following the MLM script or sales messages, I started creating a success path – a form of accountability to follow for my downline to use and succeed with, and I offer them all kinds of other things to help them stand out from everybody else selling the same thing as them – and so far it's worked, I just launched it initially for that 2 week period but I shut it off and am now doing a 30 day challenge to see if I can get this recruiting and product funnel out the door making positive cash flow within the first 30 days so I don't have to come out of pocket to get my business going.

Anyways, The main idea of this episode is for you to stand out, you need to create an offer and I just wanted to share that with you guys, so go do some detective work like I did and find out what the top MLMer in your industry is doing and if you find it let me know and just shoot me a facebook message or something about what the top MLMer in your industry is doing, I've most likely seen it before or seen something similar to it so just send them my way and I can do a critique or something of it on the podcast!

So start brainstorming ways you can add on value to your product or opportunity so you don't have to discount on price, because essentially, when you discount on price you are swimming in a red ocean and when you're swimming in a red ocean there's hungry sharks like the top MLMers that will come and either out pitch or out value you and take your customers.

Whats up everybody? This is Kyle Federmann and welcome to the MLM 2 Freedom Project and today… we are going to be talking about WHY MLMers fail…and how you can use this to your advantage…

So I mentioned on the last episode that I've invested tens of thousands of dollars into books and courses whether it was MLM, real estate, marketing, or any sort of self development and when I was reading and deep diving into these marketing books I read a couple in a row that sort of gave me this giant epiphany that made me realize WHY people in MLM and network marketing fail and its because most of you are doing what your upline tells you to do and that is go and market to your friends and family because that is your warm leads, and this is completely wrong, and don't feel bad or down on yourself because I was told to do the same thing and I did the same thing, and failed miserably, and when I figured out how the actual top MLMers in the industry were making their money it really pissed me off, which is saying a lot because I'm typically a genuinely positive person who goes with the flow and can adapt to problems that come across my path and solve them and basically when I figured this out I was so pissed off and wanted to quit this business entirely but in the back of my head I thought, maybe there's a paper trail….so I'll start off with how it came into my mind and how I figured this out…

So there was this book I read called the dip by seth godin and in it he talks about in entrepreneurship everybody has some type of "dip" they go into… basically when you go into business your head is high, you're super pumped and excited and in the back of your head you're thinking "oh if I do this this and this" I will be able to pay off my car, pay off my house, pay for my kids school, donate to charities, and then you actually get out into the "real world" of business and start running and then you hit a wall… well I was in this spot and basically when I started reaching out to friends and family like my upline told me to do and I thought this is what I needed to be successful and then I ran out of leads and exhausted my entire warm market, I had family members telling me I was a scammer and trying to steal their money and I hit what Seth Godin call's the dip because I hit a wall and didn't know what else to do to make money and like I told you guys on the last episode, I literally was barely making any money, my girlfriend had this gorgeous condo, was paying all the bills and it wasn't intentional but I was literally leeching off her until I started actually making money and it sucked because I've always been the type of person that wants to provide and put food on the table and I literally wasn't able to… 

But I remembered reading a book called dotcom secrets by Russell Brunson and in the book I remembered reading that instead of trying to pave the path to freedom and success, you just need to model what works and for some reason I had this giant epiphany that I needed to go and find who was successful so I stayed up ALL NIGHT, I had finals the next day for some ethics class and there's no way I was studying for that so I procrastinated my face off and did what I normally did, I came into the house, exhausted from the day of work, studying for finals, and trying to start this MLM business and I had NO energy, not only because of the workload but because I was exhausted from life, and a lot of you may be in the same position I was in, and typically when I came home I would just sit down on the couch and stare at my computer wondering how the heck can I make the money to pay for all the bills, I had this 1991 chevy Silverado that I bought off a family friend for $1000 and have you ever had it where if one thing goes wrong there's just another giant pile of problems? Well I had that, my tire blew out, my radiator was leaking so my old rusty truck kept overheating, I killed the battery on it by leaving the lights on and it reset the security system so I was literally in an airport parking lot sprinting and pushing my truck across it to get it up to 5 or 10 mph so I could hop in and pop the clutch to start it… it was a rough time in my life and everything just kept piling up and what I remember from that night I just tried youtubing some ways to make more sales in my MLM and just started down this GIANT rabbit hole of successful people in MLM and I noticed a trend… 

They weren't going around pissing off their friends and family… they weren't doing these stupid hotel meetings and they weren't pitching any person they thought would be a good fit for MLM… what they were doing was another thing I learned about called paid prospecting… and basically what I figured out about this paid prospecting is that these people were giving out some type of information whether it was a paid course, a free cd, a book, ANYTHING at all on how to recruit and sell your products… and in those products they pitched other things including their MLM… and when I saw this I was livid I was thinking to myself "why the hell doesn't anybody else notice this?" and I started looking into this more and it actually changed the way I looked at the MLM industry and it just started this deep dive so I was in class everyday just looking into the top MLMers and taking notes on what they were doing to market their business and I just kept going through and found that NOBODY in the top 5% of MLMers were marketing their product or opportunity the way I was.

So obviously I started looking into how to do this because if you're like me, you can be super introverted at times and make it really awkward when trying to talk to people and I hated that about me, it's a huge flaw of mine that I've been trying to overcome… And when I was going through this I found that a lot of MLMers not only had their own products but they also had websites and facebook pages and other stuff that just provided insane value to get the customer in the door, so they would know, like and trust them. And this one guy I found had a whole website dedicated to teaching people in MLM how to market, so I dove deep into his stuff and also remembered that Russell said in his book that if I want to be successful, I cannot pave the path I have to model what works – notice I said model, not copy, that's stealing. So I started doing it I created a little video course on how to pitch people, some facebook live marketing tips and other stuff and I created what people in the marketing industry call sales funnels... basically it's getting someone in the door and then selling them aka paid prospecting on something that costs a little bit of money in order to qualify the leads. So it was like a little course and I would sell this facebook like script for an extra $3 and then another upsell in the funnel for like $97 and then a book and then something else that offered to join their team. I hope you guys are still following this and can see what this can do for your business.

…Realized they get paid even if they don't recruit someone…

This system weeds out the moochers just trying to get easy money, sort of like a coffee filter…

What I realized is this was the big thing, when people bought they were essentially raising their hand saying "HEY LOOK OVER HERE I WANT YOU TO PITCH ME"

And that's the huge realization, that's how the top MLMers make $ and have the freedom, they don't sit their pitching people on facebook all day or posting stuff all over their wall, they get people to come to them…. I'll go a little deeper into this the next episode and how I figured out to do it, but I want you to realize that your upline is teaching you all wrong and you are playing the poor man's game, and hopefully you realize how much this could help you because I'm sure you're like me and want to spend more time with family and not be so stressed about bills and everything piling up…

But all the dots started to connect and I realized for my upline at the time in that service based MLM I was booking appointments with my warm market and that's who my upline was making the money off of, it wasn't off of their own warm market, the guys that were crushing it were USING ME – and that is what set me off the most because I was being used to find their leads, I hope you're noticing the trend because your upline might be doing it to you – not intentionally but maybe just because that's what they were taught – and it's screwing you over in the end.

What's up everybody this is Kyle Federmann and you are listening to the MLM 2 Freedom Project… So I first got into the MLM business about 3 years ago in 2015 and had an insanely rough start probably like most of you guys listening but since then I've been doing a TON of studying and growing over the past couple months and I just wanted to start this podcast because I've started trying out some new marketing techniques I've learned over the past few years that I think are able to help me recruit and I wanted to document what I'm doing and figuring out what is successful and what isn't successful so you guys can hedge against this yourself and that's kind why I'm here, just to be authentic and help you guys out because what I've noticed in my journey the past 3 years buying thousands of dollars worth of courses and thousands of dollars worth in books, there is a LOT of fluff out there to teach you how to do MLM and I've tried pretty much all of it… All the "tricks and tips" to trick people into joining (which is super wrong to do) and none of them worked so I took a step back and started researching more into the marketing and not so much into sales… 

So like I said, my name is Kyle Federmann and I really want to welcome you to the MLM 2 Freedom project. Like you heard in the intro, I'm going to walk you through the steps I have taken to go from 1 potential lead for my downline every couple months to getting at least 1 person a week to join my downline. But here's a plot twist for you: the system I used... I actually turned it off… And if you're like how I used to be and not getting any leads, you've exhausted your list of the warm market and you're looking for a new way to generate leads with very little knowledge or experience in marketing you may be thinking I'm crazy for turning it off and you've come to the right podcast.

So I turned it off for 2 reasons:

1) I did this for the heck of it to see if it would work and I don't have a system in place to duplicate what I am doing to teach my downline

2) I wanted to walk you, the listener, through step by step on what I am doing so you can follow me along and do it the same way that I am 

So to be clear, I'm not super successful, I ran one marketing campaign for a bought a month that was literally limping along and I was still getting 1 person PER WEEK to join my downline. It's not what I consider a successful campaign but it was something I threw together based on the marketing books I've read and all the courses I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on to learn how to market my real estate business and other companies I've worked for, that I've eventually figured out I can apply it to any business with the same core concepts and have it be super successful. So I just wanted to point out: I'm not one of the gurus out there that is out of touch and "knows everything" about marketing and I never will act like a guru to you because I am in probably the same position you are in, and if you're like me you want to blow up your home based business like I do. I really am making it my goal to take you along this journey in order for you to be successful in your MLM and officially quit your 9-5 like you planned on doing when you first joined your MLM.

First off, I'm going to tell you what this podcast is NOT going to do: I won't beg you to join my downline, I won't pitch you on my products and I'm not going to tell you to go talk to your warm market… BUT what this podcast will do for you is show you effective MARKETING techniques because by trade, I am a marketer, I'm secretly an introvert at heart even though it can seem like I'm a little bit extroverted and that made it EXTREMELY difficult for me to get into MLM.

But, what this podcast will do for you and how this will help your business is it will increase your traffic, it will decrease the amount of time you're spending selling to your "warm market" and teach you how to actually market. MLM or Network Marketing, however you want to say it has the word MARKETING in it and unfortunately all the MLMs and MLMers out there do is everything but market, they pitch and they sell, I'm going to teach you how to become true marketers. I like to think my type of marketing to be like the movie The Patriot with Mel Gibson, or even his other movie We Were Soldiers… In The Patriot, if you haven't seen it, it is based on the revolutionary war in which the British are taking over the homeland of this guy and they take his son captive and burn his house down, well in the revolutionary war times, the British army fought in lines and they had hundreds of soldiers that they could "dispose of" well after they took the guys son captive he handed his two younger sons rifles and found the unit escorting his son and they ambush the unit using guerilla tactics in the woods and end up getting his son back, but since the British had never fought in the woods and were always used to open field combat and shooting in a vicinity and killing someone, they couldn't kill the guy and he ended up saving his son because he had more modern fighting tactics… This is directly related to MLM, everybody in your upline is essentially telling you "write down your top 15-20 people you think would need this opportunity and go bug the crap out of them"... It is old marketing and sales and does not work, they are stuck in the 90s and can be compared to the British army, my tactics on the other hand are comparable to the Americans in the war fighting to save their homeland and using guerilla marketing or tactics and I do that by not pitching everybody's faces off until they're covered in saliva from your sales pitch, I do it through marketing to people, who I don't even know, who will eventually buy my products and also marketing to people to join my downline.

So, a little backstory on who I am and the how and why I got started in MLM:

Like I said my name is Kyle, I'm 23 years old (yes if you see pictures of me I look like I'm 16 and I'm from Ohio and have lived here my whole life. I grew up in a lower middle class family that always struggled to make it paycheck to paycheck and I always told myself that I'm going to run my own business one day and I'm going to create financial freedom so I can do what I want, when I want, with whoever the heck I want. Fast forward about 18 years of my life to being a senior in high school, there was this kid that always kept bugging me about going to these "meetings" once or twice a month and I was like "dude I do not have the time to go to one of these stupid meetings about a business opportunity, I'm working 50-60 hours a week so I can go to college and pay for it with as minimal amount of loans as possible. Well, fast forward a couple months and I just graduated high school, I have a job cutting grass at a cemetery - best job ever and if it paid well I'd do it the rest of my life- and this same guy texts me and says "hey man a girl I know is having a pool party tomorrow at 3, feel free to come by and you can bring some friends" so in the back of my head I'm thinking "hell yeah, I've been working out since January, it's June and I look ripped, I can meet some girls I've never met, at a pool party with my shirt off and maybe find a girl I can date that is planning on going to college where I am… so I shot him a text back and said "hell yeah I'll be there and I'll bring my 3 other friends, are her parents home and can we bring some beer?" he replied back "oh just hold it on the beer her parents are home we can go chill and drink at my house after" So I, being the immature little 18 year old I was, decided to go pregame the pool party with my 3 buddies because one lived down the street, and remember the party started at 3. It's about 10 till 3 and I'm thinking we will show up around 3:30 so we aren't the only ones there and right at 3 this guy starts blowing up my phone saying "where you at man, this is about to start I want you guys to be here for this presentation" and in the back of my head I'm like what? Presentation? I thought this was a party? So we end up getting to the party around 4:00 and walk into the backyard, gorgeous house, salt water pool, mercedes benz' in the driveway and I'm like hell yeah this is gonna be fun… then when we got down to the party everybody was drinking the same cans of stuff - and I won't release the name of the MLM or trash it or anything I'm just using it as an example - but my friend walks up to use introduces us to all the people at the house and me and my friends just start drinking the hell out of these drinks, eating all the food and being typical high school kids playing around in the pool and doing stupid stuff. Well, turns out 15 minutes beforehand they had a presentation that we missed and they wanted to give us the presentation so fast forward to the end of the party before we head out and the guys like hey, we wanted to give you this quick 15 minute presentation on a business opportunity in case you guys would be interested and if not it's cool we won't force you… so we sat down and the guy went through his whole pitch about how he's 26 years old, has a paid off mercedes that his company bought for him and he dropped out of school, quit his job and does this full time and even bought his mom her dream house and got her to retire… he goes into all the details a typical MLM presenter would go into and all the details of the MLM saying it costs $295, $495 and $695 and you will be able to pay it off in a couple months with sales. Well me and my friends all decided to not do it and life went on.

Fast forward to about sophomore year of college, my girlfriend and I got a cute little puppy and she worked night shift as a nurse so somebody needed to watch the dog during the day so I moved in and watched the dog and went to class while she worked, she was doing pretty well with her income but I was making like $700-$1000 a month working at a marina and I was strapped for cash, I'm talking I owed school about $2500 and had no idea how I was going to pay for it so I went onto craigslist and started looking for job opportunities to increase my income, I eventually found one and went to this hotel meeting and sat in front of this pitch for an MLM and it was I think $49 to join and all you had to do was book appointments, it was a service based MLM. I got a couple appointments booked, got running and after a couple of months I was in the hole another $200 and I was all out of leads, I ended up starting my second semester of paid internship so I didn't need the money anymore and kind of put it to the side. 

So my goal has always been to buy houses and apartment complexes and get cash flow monthly, I started doing all kinds of research into it and everything and got on the ground running got a couple deals where I bought a house for a dollar and flipped it for $10k with no work into it and was STILL strapped for cash and was going into my final year of college, I was still living with my girlfriend and was in my opinion worthless because I've always wanted to provide and I wasn't getting the income from my side hustle in real estate and my internships were paying like $14 an hour while going to school so I had no time for anything else, I started reading into marketing and ran across this thing called sales funnels and it was my 'aha' moment because I figured out I could do this in any market I tried. I had a guy a couple weeks later approach me saying he wanted me to do marketing for a business he was starting so I agreed, we went on for about 4 months and he stopped responding, I got busy with my flips I was doing and kind of just stopped worrying about doing it. Then one day randomly, the same guy in my upline called me and was like "hey kyle! I have this amazing opportunity, this is another MLM, it's just about to get started and if you join you can be in the top of it and just recruit your warm market and make a quick million and just hop from MLM launch to MLM launch." Then it clicked, I could use these sales funnels in MLM to recruit people AND sell products and I WOULDN'T have to use my warm market and I could stay in this MLM and not hop to every new launch…

So fast forward to mid-2018 and here we are, I work full time 9-5, which increasingly seems like it's getting to be more like 6-5, I do still buy houses on the side that I try to turn into rentals and I am about 2 months into joining this MLM that I know I'm going to kill it in because I am doing something that NOBODY else is doing and I'm teaching my downline the EXACT process I am using so that they can do it and be successful as well.

My major epiphany happened when I started looking into WHY the top people in MLMs were successful, and it all lead to the same thing, they were selling a book or a course or something that leads a prospect through a "sales funnel" and gets them to eventually join their downline. When I saw this I started digging into all the top MLMers in all types of different MLM markets whether it was beauty related, health related, and even service based MLMs and started seeing the SAME EXACT TACTICS were being used to not only recruit people into their business but to also sell the products, WITHOUT pissing off their family and friends. So for the past 2 months I have stopped all production on my own real estate business and have slowly cut down hours at work dedicating time to "hack" the process they are doing so not only I can use it but so I can share it with you guys and help you hit your goal of quitting your day job and giving yourself the freedom you were looking for when you initially started MLM.

What's awesome about when I started trying this new type of marketing is I didn't know what was going to happen I threw darts at a board hoping they'd hit and I don't know what happened but I woke up the next day and slept in a little because I was up working late on my own business and didn't happen to check my phone at all and I actually didn't have any email alerts because I remember I had to reset my password and then when I got into work it hit me I was like oh shoot I forgot I launched that last night… and I went into my email I had set up for my MLM and had about 6 new emails from the $8 I spent on marketing about people who had wanted to join my team and I was like WHAT?! IT'S SERIOUSLY THAT EASY? And I turned it off because I had no content or anything to help them be successful, so I'm currently working with them and teaching them on the side what I'm doing and I'm going to have them implement this also and start following the podcast so we can build a community around this that can also help you guys.

This podcast isn't meant for the super successful, ultra tech-savvy person. Yes, I'm 23 years old but I am an idiot when it comes to advancements in technology sometimes, I tried setting up a wordpress blog and website for my real estate company and couldn't figure out all the coding and everything and just gave up, so don't be worried if you think you aren't tech savvy or anything because these sales funnels are built literally with a drag and drop tool on a special membership site I use and I'll teach you guys how to do it as well so you won't have to spend $20,000 on a team to build you a sales funnel through special websites and you won't have to spend months getting a website set up.

This whole process won't take the personal aspect out of business and it won't ruin the relationship part, I'm actually going to teach you in this podcast how to create better relationships with people that you don't even know and haven't even met, which will help not only your wallet but also help you as a person and that is my goal with this podcast.

So hopefully you enjoyed some of my ranting and my soapbox about how I got started in MLM and I hope some of you can relate, I'll probably be releasing one podcast, hopefully two per week with some training stuff you guys can use and I will try to update you with things I am working on in my business so you can also stay in the loop and follow along and hopefully become a top recruiter and sales person in your MLM.

This is Kyle Federmann and I want to welcome you into the world of true marketing for your MLM, this is stuff that unfortunately your downline hasn't taught you and honestly it is so new age for MLM because in my opinion MLM is stuck in the 70s and in this episode I wanted to share my story about my journey in joining an MLM and how I've gotten where I am today and you guys may be able to relate to this so I wanted to just welcome you into this movement because this isn't going to be a normal podcast, it's more like a project and it's something that will be able to help you get on the ground running and selling like you never thought you could, I just think there's a ton of podcasts and youtubers out there in the MLM space that are teaching stuff but they haven't been in the MLM industry and all their tactics are outdated and they just keep telling you to bug the crap out of your friends and family so I'm letting you know now I'm not going to pitch you on my MLM and I'm not going to tell you to go talk to your warm market because I honestly hated that and if you haven't tried it yet I want to save you from having the embarrassment that I had. I hope you guys are excited to start this journey with me so let's get started I'm super pumped for this and hopefully I bring enough value that you'll go with me along this journey and become a top MLMer like I'm trying to do.

When I initially got into MLM I was at an insanely stressful point in my life, and you guys may be able to relate to this, but I was making anywhere from $700-$1000 a month working at a marina and I would be driving to work every day about 30 minutes away and I had this old beat up burgundy colored red truck, and in the summer it would be in the mid 90s sometimes even feel like 100 degrees with the heat index and the A/C was completely shot and didn't work so I had to roll the windows down manually, the dang thing for the window snapped off and it seemed like something always was going wrong. But the thing that was the worst about the windows was because when I opened the windows and any time I went over about 30 mph if any of you remember the older cars with that felt lining that was glued to the ceiling, it would usually come loose and I had that happen so any time I drove over 30 mph, that felt ceiling would flap and smack me on the side of the head and I actually didn't even have a rear view mirror because any time it got over 85 degrees, the adhesive for the mirror would lose its stickiness and the mirror would just fall off so when it cooled down I would have a giant crack all the way across the mirror when looking into it and honestly I thought I had bad luck but to make matters worse, my muffler had a giant hole in it and I didn't have the $600 to fork up for labor and materials for it to get fixed so when I would drive anywhere I would get out and have this like buzzing noise in my ears because my truck was so loud from the muffler it literally sounded like a nascar truck, like I don't know how else to explain it but life was ROUGH and it was embarrassing driving this piece of crap around that sounded like a nascar but didn't even go nearly the speed of one. Every day I was waking up hoping that school would still let me go to class even though I owed them $2500 and to make matters worse, I couldn't do anything to help my girlfriend out.

She's about 4 years older than me and had a full-time job as a nurse at the time and she's always lived comfortable, she had a brand new jeep, a newly built condo, hell she even bought the dog that I told her and kept PROMISING I would surprise her with eventually, and I realized I kept making all these promises like "I promise this business will work and I'll get enough money to pay off our school debt, buy us our dream house" and EVERYTHING that I … and hopefully you guys dream of having as well. And I just started having these worries in the back of my head like "how much longer can I do this?" "Is she going to leave me because I'm not keeping or fulfilling any of these promises I'm making?" I literally felt like a complete failure guys, I made all these promises because I wanted to start a family with her and not have to worry about money, let alone be able to buy this gorgeous ring I've always wanted to get her and I just didn't want to ever worry about money because growing up that's what all the arguments were in my household, it was ALWAYS about money and how my parents didn't have it… I'm not saying they were bad parents at all, they raised me to be a pretty decent kid I like to think, but they were working 2 or 3 jobs each to be able to pay for a private education and they helped me shape who I've become today. I just always wondered what it would be like to not have to worry about money. 

That's why I got into MLM, to solve my issue with money and help me create a business that had residual income because I assume many of you have read it but I read rich dad poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki and he always said "the rich don't work for their money, they have people work for them and have people make the money for them." And shortly after reading this book it opened my mind up to new opportunities and what was possible.

I eventually started looking for another job to get some cash in hope of actually being able to buy my girlfriend a Christmas and birthday present to avoid being embarrassed again and I came across this ad for a job on craigslist… it said be your own boss and make $400-$700 a week and I was thinking to myself this could change my life, I could pay off $2500 of school debt and start saving money so I called the ad and it said to go to this hotel meeting and at the time I never heard of hotel meetings in MLM so I reluctantly dressed up, put my worn out khakis on because I couldn't afford to buy new ones, and went out to this hotel meeting. I got the typical MLM pitch and ended up joining because it was only $59 to join so I thought I would be able to do it fine.

I started on this journey to become successful in MLM so I could prove to my girlfriend that all this hassle and embarrassment would be worth it. I got started and dropped about $800 on getting licensed and everything and booked a couple appointments and got 1 deal out of it… but to go out on your own you needed 3 assignments completed and as soon as I thought I had made it in the clear I was $800 in debt and fresh out of leads… I went to all my friends and family and they were all annoyed and didn't want to do business with me and to be honest, they were pissed at me because I kept pitching their faces off about how I could help them in their situations. So the issue now was I didn't know how to find anymore leads and then a couple weeks later I ended up getting a paid internship so I didn't have this giant pit in my stomach of not being able to live and I just stopped marketing my MLM to my warm market and basically stopped the business altogether.

Since then in 2015 when I started I've been investing tens of thousands of dollars into myself like I learned to do in rich dad poor dad and I eventually learned this marketing tactic that is able to work in any business… One day a guy that went to the same gym as me asked me to help him market his business for a percentage cut so I decided I'd help because I had all this marketing knowledge, after a couple months he just stopped responding so I was like alright I guess I'll stop wasting my time on this and at this point I had put money into the business a little bit and was back living paycheck to paycheck, I started to get this feeling that my body just increased by 100 pounds and it felt like this giant weight was put onto my shoulders because I thought this opportunity was the one that would relieve all my worries about stress and get me enough money to help provide and begin to start a family…

I just sort of grinded through that spring wishing I could find something to get me out of this mess, and one day I got a call from the guy that presented at the hotel meeting and got me to join he said "Hey Kyle, haven't heard from you in a while, hope everything is going well with your real estate stuff, I've got another opportunity for you and I want you to be under me in this, it's an MLM in prelaunch and we can join, it's only $59, we can recruit our warm market and then make our millions and find another MLM to bounce over to. In the back of my head I was like this could be it… but I can't. I can't keep recruiting and pitching my family and friends, it is hard enough trying to be social because I'm such an introvert but I can't pitch my family and friends anymore. And then it hit me, one of the courses I had bought taught me how to market to other people in MLM and all they said was "The pioneers are lying face down in the sand with arrows in their back, they are the ones that figured out what works and what doesn't, so go and find them and model what they are doing."

So everyday when I got home from work and literally all weekend I started searching into what the top MLMers were doing and they were all doing the same exact thing… they were all pushing out tons of free stuff or smaller paid items to get the prospects in the door, and one of the guys even went into detail on how he does it, he called it paid prospecting. So I kept this in the back of my head and thought ok, this guy is super successful in MLM, instead of trying to create my own road, I will just follow what he does and tweak it so it is my own thing… so every night I would come home from work and work my face off trying to get this done and there would be multiple nights a week where it was about 1 or 2 in the morning and I would just pass out because I was trying to set up everything myself in wordpress.

Eventually I got a couple deals done in the real estate stuff I was doing on the side to get some cash to buy my fiancé the ring I wanted to give her and was going to do it on vacation when we went out to Lake Tahoe in California. I had just gotten this landing page stuff set up to where I could hit run and then hopefully let the leads just trickle in and get recruits on autopilot… So I had a 2-week trial for this software and I planned it so leading up to vacation I could start it and run it and get the software to pay for itself so I stayed up all night on a Thursday while my fiancé was working and hit launch… Well since I stayed up all night I have this weird condition that if my body does not get at least 5 hours of sleep I will pass out if I sit down until my body hits 8 hours of sleep – I don't think it's a condition I think it's just that life was so rough so I ended up going to bed at 2, woke up at 5 like normal to go to work and then just passed back out… I woke up a couple hours later and it was 9:00 and I was like holy crap I'm so late for work so I rushed in and got to work and it hit me about halfway through the day that I forgot to check and see if my launch worked so I hurried up and got on my email and saw 4 people had put in an application to join my team. In under 12 hours. And I just sat there, almost started to cry and was so excited because what I did, it completed shifted the viewpoint on how to be successful in MLM.

I actually shut that off because I found a better software to set up what we call these sales funnels, I had to go on vacation to propose to my girlfriend, who is now my fiancé, and I didn't have any idea of how to teach my downline how to do this so they wouldn't be successful as well - so I just had to turn it off. But I'm actually doing the rework of it now and starting to teach them how to do the same thing and I'm just going to be documenting this process because it can be hard to comprehend if you're seeing the finished product from a top MLMer doing it.

So that's all I got for this episode guys, I just wanted to let you guys in on my story and where I've come to find this point of realization that we don't have to pitch to our warm market anymore, it doesn't have to be like that and we can still get invited to family parties… without the embarrassment of them saying "oh are you a millionaire yet?" "hows that scam working out for you?" And I'm so excited to be able to sharing this with you guys and hopefully you will get a ton of value out of this podcast, I'll start going deeper into the process and step by step things I'm doing in the future so you can follow along and hopefully implement this yourselves and I'm actually planning on creating a little bootcamp I made one weekend that has 5 videos in it that goes through step by step on how to set this up so if you want that, I haven't figured out how I'm going to send it out yet but will be able to send it to you on a cd or flash drive or something to allow you to download it to your phone or computer and take it anywhere so you can listen and learn.
