The Twins' visit to Yankee Stadium went about as expected, as Minnesota's streak of winning series against good teams comes to an end. David and Dan discuss the inevitability of it all, but they are especially disappointed in the team's ability to squeak out a win in Game 1 of an otherwise regrettable series. David is disappointed that Bailey Ober and Griffin Jax didn't get a chance to pitch in New York, and Dan questions Rocco's handling of Game 1. Dan asks David a question with trepidation, and David is once again ready to sign half a dozen pitchers to help balance out what looks to be a stellar lineup again in 2022. Now it's on to Boston for the Twins, who will have to make a weird one-game visit to New York to make up for what would have been Game 4 of this Yankees series in mid-September.

After starting the year 0-8 in extra-inning games, the Twins have rebounded to a 10-10 record, including two victories in such contests that earned them this series victory against Cleveland. Who are these Twins? Where were they earlier in the year? David and Dan discuss their recent surge of four consecutive series wins, which has David excited about 2022 once more. Dan would like to see a strong finish first, but he's hopeful that Byron Buxton's return will make a climb back to .500 this season not totally unrealistic. They talk about Jorge Polanco's clutch hits in extra innings, and they wonder why exactly Brent Rooker is still in the No. 2 spot in the lineup while Trevor Larnach is back at Triple-A. Dan accidentally backs into a Miguel Sano comparison he regrets, and David fears asking his co-host any questions after getting verbally shamed for doing so last episode. Thanks for listening!

David and Dan are together in studio for the final time of the season before Dan heads back to Washington.  The boys breakdown the Twins series win against the AL East leading Tampa Bay Rays. This makes it three straight series where the Twins have defeated division leading teams leaving David and Dan to wonder what has happened to this team. David is convinced Pineda didn't get traded due to injury concerns and he's curious how the Twins will address the current lack of offensive production from the catching position. Dan thinks it's time to be done with Jake Cave and he doesn't appreciate David's hypothetical questions regarding the recent resurgence of the Twins. In this special episode Dan, David, and Hoges are all together in the studio recapping the Twins series win over the Chicago White Sox. Hoges regales David and Dan with his tale of running in the race at Target field, and agrees with David that no hitters still matter, much to Dan's chagrin.  Hoges celebrates his first victory in Puckett's Pucks as the listener's pick, and in a turning of the tables Dan finds himself defending Jake Cave in Beast vs. Bench. The optimism for 2022 is increasing in the boys as they discuss the increasing effectiveness of both Jax and Ober, or as David likes to call them, the JaxsonOber combination. Dan is on the road making his way to Minnesota so Hoges is once again in studio. The boys discuss the surprising success of the Twins taking 3 of 4 from the Houston Astros in Houston. Hoges regrets not listening to those around him urging him to take Polanco as his Puckett's Picks for this series and he channels his inner Dan Thompson with his Beast selection in Beast vs. Bench. David begrudging praises Sano for his game winning defensive play and urges Rocco to allow Gant to make some starts in the remaining portion of the season. Hoges wonders if this team will be competitive in 2022 and believes that the Twins trading Berrios makes it more likely that Buxton will be signed to an extension. Yet again, the Twins and Reds play to an exciting two-game split, this time in Cincinnati, which Dan is convinced has one of the best ballparks in the sport. He and David recap the Twins' successful comeback in Game 1 and their  attempt to do so in Game 2, which came up one big hit short. David gets a bit worked up about Alexander Colome's role as closer, and Dan refuses to root for the Braves -- despite their acquisition of Eddie Rosario -- due to something that happened 30 years ago. After trading away two starters and a reliever at the deadline, the Twins could only catch the Cardinals once during their three-game set in St. Louis. Their bullpen depth was clearly lacking, and they only got decent starting pitching when they really needed some great performances. David and Dan recap the deals for Jose Berrios, J.A. Happ and Hansel Robles while looking forward to whether the Twins can actually be competitive next season. But they also highlight strong performances from Jorge Polanco and Andrelton Simmons, whose showing apparently came too late for any teams to actually trade for him before Aug. 1.

David and Dan are back at it discussing the Twins terrible performance against the Detroit Tigers and absurdity of a 17-14 score in game 3. The boys commiserate the lackluster performance of the Twins bullpen and Dan relishes his Puckett's Pick victory due to the stellar offensive performance of Miguel Sano. The Twins drop three of four to the Angels, and fans don't even get to see Shohei Ohtani pitch (though he did hit -- and well). David finds lots to criticize Rocco Baldelli about, especially his management of Game 4, but at least there were some exciting moments in a series that featured three different one-run games. Dan and David wonder about the future of this team regarding Byron Buxton, Jose Berrios and the two Triple-A starters the Twins got in the Nelson Cruz trade. Jake Cave finds himself back on the roster, batting fifth; the Twins squander some good starting pitching performances; and Hansel Robles is nowhere to be found.
