The Bronx Bombers lived up to their name, though the Bomba Squad roared back in the 9th inning to steal Game 3 and avoid the sweep. The Twins get a big series from Nelson Cruz, Miguel Sano and Jorge Polanco, but once again the starting pitching is suspect. David and Dan discuss Randy Dobnak's poor outing and what Rocco Baldelli should do with the rotation going forward. They also discuss the impending return of Byron Buxton, they pine for the return of Luis Arraez, and they question whether Nick Gordon should have been playing centerfield much more than he has.

David and Dan reunite after an episode apart and muse about whether there's any reason to rush Byron Buxton  back into the lineup of this bad baseball team, which just lost two of three to the lowly Orioles. They discuss the latest iteration of the Twins outfield, and Dan criticizes as 'wishy-washy' David's latest idea for a rule modification. Does Nelson Cruz have anything left? Is the Twins' injured list better on paper than their lineup of healthy players? At least, though, there's the Rogers-Robles combination and Trevor Larnach's quest for 20 homers to look forward to the rest of the season, as the guys shift their mindset to building toward 2022.

For the first time this season, the Twins earn a sweep, and they have won two series in a row for only the second time this season. Dan and David applaud Rocco Baldelli's management of the pitching staff, a task made easier by the bullpen's improved play. They question, though, whether Jorge Polanco should have played this series at all considering his injury, and they wonder too whether by the All-Star Break veteran Nelson Cruz will still have a place on this team. But they were heartened by Sano's big blast in Game 3 as well as the eighth-inning rally in Game 1. Has Rob Refsnyder earned himself a spot on this roster long-term, even after Byron Buxton returns? And, past all previous hopes: Could the Twins, now 20-29, be like the 2019 Nationals and crawl back into relevance after a dreadful start?

David and Dan discuss the Twins doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels and the three-game series against the Cleveland Indians.  The Twins split 1 and 1 in LA and take 2 of 3 in Cleveland which causes the boys to struggle to keep their hope in check. The Twins broke both their 7-inning game losing stream and their extra-innings losing streak much to the delight of both Dan and David. Dan loves watching Arraez play baseball and hates the way the MLB scheduled the double header. They discuss whether Randy Dobnak is here to stay and who on the Twins roster is anywhere near 100% healthy. David make  a surprise pick in Puckett's picks and believes that the MLB hates its fans. Miguel Sano's three-homer effort in Game 2 is certainly the highlight for the Twins, who can't solve Lucas Giolito in Game 3 and fail to win a series yet again. Yet again, Dan insists that a no-hitter is no big deal, much to David's consternation. The boys also discuss the consternation on the field over the unwritten rules of baseball and the hubbub surrounding Yermin Mercedes' 9th-inning home run against Willians Astudillo in Game 1. David wonders whether the season is truly past hope, and Dan somehow works a Mary Poppins reference into a show about baseball.

David and Dan discuss the Twins failure to win yet another series, this time against the Oakland A's. While the Twins came away with one victory the losses were not simply due to poor pitching and lack of timely hitting, no the Twins mixed it up a bit by working in fielding errors to secure another series loss.  David questions the timing of when his heart will align with his mind in admitting the Twins poor outlook for the season, and Dan does a 180 on his feelings for Sano. The boys discuss whether Kirilloff and Larnarch will be difference makers on the team this year and whether it's time recall Ryan Jeffers from AAA. Thanks for listening!

David and Dan discuss the Twins terrible series against the White sox in which the Twins went 0-3. The offense and the defense refuse to both be good in the same games and there are more questions than answers regarding the Twins bullpen. David is upset with Simmons for breaking a rule little leaguers are taught, and Dan is impressed by the recent performance of Willians Astudillo. The boys try and keep up high spirits and optimism, but as the season continues to push forward hope is getting harder to find. Sights are now set on the upcoming series against the Oakland A's and Dan is convinced Trevor Larnach is going to play a pivotal role in returning the Twins to their winning ways of 2020. A rainout postponed the rubber game of this series until mid-July, and so the Twins will get two days off to consider their struggles and how to fix them. David and Dan take turns dissecting the bullpen's problems, while Dan wonders whether Miguel Sano's time in Minnesota is coming to an end. But there are at least some optimistic signs from the play of Josh Donaldson, Jorge Polanco and Max Kepler. Now if only the Twins could get some hits with runners in scoring position.
