A rainout postponed the rubber game of this series until mid-July, and so the Twins will get two days off to consider their struggles and how to fix them. David and Dan take turns dissecting the bullpen's problems, while Dan wonders whether Miguel Sano's time in Minnesota is coming to an end. But there are at least some optimistic signs from the play of Josh Donaldson, Jorge Polanco and Max Kepler. Now if only the Twins could get some hits with runners in scoring position.

This may have been a new low in the Baldelli era: The Twins lose three of four at home against the sub-.500 Rangers. David and Dan discuss what was a very winnable series in Cleveland, where the Twins come away with one win and a pair of close losses. J.A. Happ's start and the Twins' resurgent bats are certainly highlights, and David thinks Game 3 of this series was just the sort to get the Twins back on track. But Dan continues to be concerned about a bullpen that has few trusted arms right now. The boys wonder whether Rocco Baldelli knows the basics of mound visits, and they consider who might be sent back down once Max Kepler, Kyle Garlick and Miguel Sano are able to rejoin the team -- perhaps as early as this weekend. The Twins great start to the series with a no-hit bid by Happ is soured by dropping the next 2 games against the Pirates. Still missing both Kepler and Simmons among others due to COVID, the Twins struggle to get any sort of offensive production. First no bats, then no pitching. Short a handful of players and with two games postponed due to COVID, the Twins go 0-4 in California. David and Dan both rag on the Twins for bringing in the infield with Mike Trout at the plate, and they wonder if this is the time when Rocco Baldelli finally just leaves Luis Arraez at the top of the lineup. Dan finds some silver lining in the Twins winning Game 4 and in Miguel Sano's show of power and patience, but David has none of either argument in this episode. About the only bright spot in David's mind was the start for Michael Pineda, and maybe the return of Josh Donaldson. What began as a promising series ended with two late-inning duds for the Twins, as David and Dan discuss on this episode.
