On this episode John and Nate dive into three segments of bizarre news items. Normally an educational piece is added but the news has been particularly bizarre.

1) Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, had a plot to have her kidnapped and civil war enacted foiled by the feds.

2) The fly on Vice President Mike Pence head made more of statement then what he had to say in the VP debate.

3) Covid has made its way through the White House. Does this change the game? Implications? Does President Trump make the debate? Are stimulus talks stalled? Weird times.

On this episode John and Nate first dive into the inaugural "Educational Segment" and the "Bizarre Segment". For about 10 minutes the team discusses both the Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates low followed by an analysis for the potential of life on Venus!

The team then segues into a discussion of swing voters in the upcoming election followed by an intense discussion about the validity of Donald Trump's nomination for a Noble Peace Prize in relation to the agreement between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain.

The Big Ten is playing football after the POTUS called on 01 September and heaped on the pressure. Is that laughable, or will it move the needle in The Rust Belt (and thus the nation)?

Welcome back to the ModState Podcast.

On this episode John and Nate begin to take predictions preceding the first presidential debate. The first debate will be moderated by Chris Wallace of Fox News. Will Mr. Wallace be able to keep the two candidates on point? Is 2016 different from 2020? Will the president find himself more defensive as we have seen in his two most recent interviews?

Next, John and Nate move to current political and cultural climate. Is the unrest in places like Kenosha Wisconsin a predictor for continued unrest leading up to election? Finally the team takes the last part of the episode to discuss the Kenosha shooting.

In light of the Jerry Falwell, Jr. debacle at Liberty University, your hosts dive into religion and its role in society in 2020.

Both men differ in their understanding of the origins of morality, and how religion plays a role in society. May this be the first of many discussions on faith in America.

1) Biden/Harris ticket. Is it strong? It doesn't really meet progressive half-way but it will be hard for conservatives to find bad talking points.

2) USPS. Optics anyone? Did we forget this is a service? Also mail-in-ballots. Nate makes a case for Colorado's efficiency with mail in voting.

3) Steve Bannon debacle. Are you shocked? Is is shocking that roughly 8-9 people a year in the Trump orbit are indicted.

4) What is happening with the GOP brand? Will it forever be tied to Trump? What is with the zero sum game?
