  • CineKuest Video Episode 15: Rocketeer/The Shadow

In this episode we have a continuation of the Bday month of Roland picks. Rocketeer, anyone? Little bit of The Shadow, if you will? Hellz yes!  These movies got it all! Jetpacks! The power of the darkness! Genghis Khan wannabes! Nazzies! Jennifer Connelly (of course)! Alec Baldwin with a monster schnoz! Join us as Rey and Daniel tug-a-lug through the many many merits of the beautiful Jenny. She’s no Margo Lane though, hard as she doesn’t try. Now that’s a class (and sass) act for ya. Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of preverts? The Shadow, probably. We chose…wisely for the movies…poorly for the Connelly Effect (obsession, rather). The well-endowed thoughts of Lamont would probably agree (have to watch to get that one).

  • Anatomy of Mixtape Episode 12: What JAZZ is to Me

Here we go for some soul. For the month of May, we celebrate zeh b-day times for Roland. As such, he felt like throwing a curve–let’s do some JAZZY JAZZ …because I know a lot about that (hell to the no). A slight last-minute tweak threw in some blues too. I mean, it was this or pirate/circus metal….hehehe! So time for the finest of fart-knockage. Breathe deep. This episode was hella fun-mostly for me. Thankfully, we have Daniel to bring us some knowledge and true effort (jazz hop?!?), while the Nancy Nay-Say Cousins took a big Cleveland steamer (nuts and corn) on what “jazz means to me.” The humble purists strike again! I mean, it’s good some people know what they’re [trash]talking about. We were out in Dallas for the Frightmare Weekend convention, and Sweet Baby Rey thought it was a good opportunity to try and record at Joe’s place. Just to give him a little taste of the bullshit that happens before, during, and after a setup (random goblins in the machine). Still, the booze was good, the company was amusing, and I was happy with my picks. Have at!

  • Fat Food for PHAT People Episode 10: BrewKuest II

On a one-way trip to chugga-liciousness, Round 2. Observe the alcohol soaked fruits of Jamie’s brainchild loins. Drink in the majesty with the rest of us-guesting Bryan… again-as we crack out the percolator (this stuff is DARKNESS) and muddy through the strong stuff. No beer shits here, folks. SEVENTEEN PERCENT? One round here, please. This is some fancy pants stuff! We waste no time subjecting and sacrificing our taste buds for the cause. As all true judgery demands, the struggle is real. These beers were brewed in motor oil. Drinky drinky, boys and girls!

  • CineKuest Video Episode 14: Class of Nuke’em High

Time for the second of our cheese-gorefest Tromathon treks. This time we’re treated to what happens when the honor society goes full-penetration (it’s not good–hence, the implication). It gets even worse better when they get ahold of the radioactive gonja and start passing around the glowing yellow spliffs (did they sprinkle some crackmeth innit?). See what happens when people hulk out with six foot boners and insta-trimesters. Shit demons, that’s what. No, really. Couldn’t make up this stuff if we tried. Get ready for an Atomic High courtesy of the “Youth of Tomorrow”.

  • CineKuest Video Episode 13: The Meteor Man

Join us as we dive into one of the “first black superhero films!” (Maybe, we really don’t research such things) This star studded cast is nothing to scoff at. It’s a shame this movie doesn’t get much attention. It’s not great, but its got mojo! Meteor Man has unique super powers and a genuine desire to help the community even if it means putting a brief music on hold?

P.s. 40 Hands Dan falls asleep again for a brief moment.

  • Anatomy of Mixtape Episode 11: Roadtrip Mix

Road Trip Mix! None of that 99 bottles trash for the love of boredom (unless you’re 10……or a sadist). Just about everyone had a track with “highway” in the name-one of us even picked chiefly from songs using that singular condition (keeps it interesting). Join El Rey, 40 Hands Dan, Axel Roland (inflicted but not self-imposed), and D-town Joe (he hates it), for a quick and brutal shit-talking marathon of songs we think peeps should blast on the road. I mean, we like ‘em. Try it out. Or not. Bust out a sleeve of Ritz, cuz this one brings the cheese!

  • Fat Food for PHAT People Episode 9: The Taste of the Sea, Men!

For the love of lent, even. On to honor the traditions of…….we just wanted an excuse to eat a ton of fish. And sardines (again). As always, we combed far and wide (/s) for the very best (only your biggest, cheapest sandwiches, good sir) of the fried sea-slice. Extra tartar-sauced, for our (mostly) fish-loving taste-technicians. Not a lemon in sight, either. Wash it all down with a beer. Unless you like fish-breath. In which case, ew. More beer. Did we mention no lemon? If you’re looking for high-brow humor, piss off. You read the title. Now get ready to laugh it down (relax the throat for maximum enjoyment).

  • CineKuest Video Episode 12: The Night Porter

For this special episode, which dabbles in a new realm of cinema, we join Idanya, co-host, D.A. and all the time favorite guest, Ron as they explore debatable titles that have made it past the graces of cinema snobs! This episode is about The Night Porter, which holds place as spine #59 in the criterion collection, yet has been considered “infamous” and “notorious” for its subject content. Does it deserve to be part of the meta film collection series? Let’s discuss!
