  • 4PM: Brewers Going for Entertainment or a World Series?
Jim Rutledge and Alex Gravatt hold it down with Matt Hamilton still in the heat of competing for the curling mixed doubles national championship, which isn't going well according to digital producer Krissy Birdsall... As Madison's new home of the Brewers, Jim and Alex G get into the explosive comment from Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio, who was quoted as (rhetorically) asking if it's his "job to win a World Series" or to "provide a summer of entertainment".... They tear into the Attanasio's apparent lack of commitment to winning and the repeated cost-cutting maneuvers of the team during his tenure as owner. Is this cost-cutting and small-market line of thinking something that fans should accept, and how does this compare to the conservative vs all-in nature of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks? They ask today's Siding Unlimited poll question: Would you rather root for a team that's just entertaining every year or a team that goes all in to win championships? During Minute to Win It, Jim and producer Primetime puts Alex G's baseball and geography knowledge to the test, quizzing him on the MLB teams located in the smallest media markets!

  • 5PM: Birthday Boy Matt Hamilton!
Jim Rutledge and Alex Gravatt divert from some of their conversation about Brewers' owner Mark Attanasio's apparent lack of commitment to compete for a World Series and go down the road of the Packers' regular season success compared to postseason success. Before they can fully lock horns, G gets some back up from Birthday Boy and Green & Gold lover Matt Hamilton! They sing Matt a cringey happy birthday, get an update on the results of the mixed doubles curling national championship with sister Becca, and they begin down the road of comparing Attanasio's apparent complacency to that of Packers GM Brian Gutekunst. But, the powers that be get in the way when Matt gets a birthday call from grandma... Jim and G carry on after reconnecting with Matt, as Jim can't get over producers Primetime and Krissy Birdsall's semi-twinning red zip-ups. What's the proper procedure for wearing shirts under a quarter zip or full zip in the winter? They wrap up with Throwing Stones, going from Illinois coach Brad Underwood's decision not to shake hands after losing to the Badgers Basketball team last night (because some of their players had/have mono) before getting to G's favorite topic -- Oreo Cookies!

  • Jason Wilde on JM&M
Jason Wilde joins Jim and Alex G to discuss the continued smoke around Davante Adams possibly returning to Green Bay as well as today's rumor that he'd also consider playing with the Chargers next season. They also get Jason's opinion on where Aaron Rodgers might play next season, if he can still sling it, and if Davante would be more likely to join the Packers to play with Jordan Love or follow Aaron Rodgers to wherever he lands this offseason? Is it realistic to think that Davante would let bygones be bygones after how his time ended with Gutey in Green Bay, and what would be his biggest motivation to re-join the Packers. First, Jason goes over G's head with his 80's movie references, and they get into the nitty gritty of what white noise TV shows that Jason puts on while sports writing! Also, what relationship does G's grandfather have with Al Capone?!?!

  • 4PM: Winter & The Badgers are Coming!
Jim Rutledge and Alex Gravatt hold it down while Matt is still away curling in the mixed doubles national championships. They're joined in-studio by Wisconsin sports aficionado and Jim's co-host of The Jump Around, Pablo Iglesias. They get hyped for the big news that Badgers Basketball big man Nolan Winter is joining ESPN Madison as a weekly guest on The Jump Around for the rest of this season! They get into tonight's border rivalry matchup versus Illinois at the Kohl Center and why Jim is guarding his heart with this Badgers basketball team while Pablo is still all in! Jim and G move into the Packers, discussing the new rumor that former Packers WR Davante Adams would be interested in joining the Chargers! Before getting into the conversation about playing with Jordan Love versus Justin Herbert, they get into the conversation closer to Green Bay... They ask today's first Siding Unlimited poll question: Would Davante Adams rather play with Jordan Love on the Packers or Aaron Rodgers on whatever team he lands with this offseason? Jason Wilde joins Jim and Alex G to discuss the continued smoke around Davante Adams possibly returning to Green Bay as well as today's rumor that he'd also consider playing with the Chargers next season. They also get Jason's opinion on where Aaron Rodgers might play next season, if he can still sling it, and if Davante would be more likely to join the Packers to play with Jordan Love or follow Aaron Rodgers to wherever he lands this offseason? • 5PM: Is Davante's Home in Green Bay or Cali?
Jim Rutledge and Alex Gravatt roll into Hour 2 with a solemn update from Matt Hamilton and sister Becca's match today at the mixed double curling national championship. It was a cold day on the curling sheet in Colorado, but is it too cold to go into work when it's -12 degrees in Madison?!?! Jim and G circle back to today's Siding Unlimited poll questions, asking if the fans think Davante Adams would rather play with Jordan Love on the Packers or Aaron Rodgers on "Team X", and would he rather play with Love or Justin Herbert on the Chargers? Jim and G discuss what would likely motivate Davante to come back to Green Bay, is he more likely to achieve postseason success with the Packers or Chargers, and are the Packers closer to contention if they add Davante or Tee Higgins/Myles Garrett? G tries to take the wheel from Jim leading into Throwing Stones, before Jim turns the tables on him by revisiting G's false accusation of office ID badge theft!

  • 4PM: Best Badgers Basketball Team since 2015?
Jim Rutledge holds it down with Alex Gravatt while Matt Hamilton is away for the week curling at the mixed doubles curling national championship. They recap a pretty busy sports weekend without football, first getting into their reactions to the lackluster NBA All-Star weekend and what needs to be improved. Then, they get into a HUGE win for Badger Men's Basketball team who took down #7 Purdue at Mackey Arena on Saturday! They size up how far this electric 2024-25 squad could go, but Jim wants to pump the brakes on some people's comps to the 2014-15 team that went to the national championship... They ask today's first Siding Unlimited poll question: Is this the best Badgers basketball team since the 2015 national runner-ups, and is this the best team Greg Gard has fielded during his time as UW's HC? How did Matt Lepay compare/contrast the two squads while on Wilde & Tausch this morning, and why was Brad Davison's era the "lowpoint" of Gard's tenure, according to Jim? They finish up Hour 1 talking about their favorite moments from last night's SNL 50th anniversary special, and they ask their second Siding Unlimited poll question: Who is your all-time favorite SNL character (not actor, but CHARACTER)?

  • 5PM: Aaron Rodgers the Backup QB?
Jim Rutledge and Alex Gravatt continue holding it down on this Monday while Matt Hamilton is off curling in the mixed doubles curling national championships. Jim and Alex wrap up their conversation about if this year's Badgers basketball team is the best since the 2015 national runner-ups squad, and they take a moment for Jim to call out "BIG WEATHER" for not giving us the real temperature outside when they leave out the "feels like" number. They shift into some former Packers QB talk, reacting to ESPN's Bears reporter Courtney Cronin floating the idea of Aaron Rodgers going to Chicago to become the backup/mentor for Caleb Williams. Would Aaron be a good backup QB, was he anything more than "professional" in his relationship with Jordan Love, and Jim is predicting that Caleb Williams will have a winning record versus the Packers for HOW LONG??? During Throwing Stones, they jump on Giannis' take that the NBA All-Star format could be better if it was Team USA vs Team World -- though let's not make the theoretical stakes TOO HIGH for any charitable aspects... Jim and G wrap up talking with Jesse Nelson and Jon Arias for some Crosstalk with the Great Dane Huddle, as they float their idea for Jesse to "participate but not initiate" when speaking as the producer on W&T!

  • Evan Cohen on JM&M
Evan Cohen joins Jim and Matt to talk about all the "winner" QB drama he stirred up around ESPN Wisconsin. Evan explains why so many people missed the essence of what he was saying with the take that "winner" isn't the first thing he associates with Aaron Rodgers. Evan also gives Matt and producer Primetime credit for finally nailing this whole radio thing. Jim also gets Evan's take on yesterday's Siding Unlimited poll question -- Do you think of Aaron Rodgers or Evan Cohen as a bigger "winner"? Also, what is the first word we associate with the Packers franchise, what other QBs does Evan associate with "winner", are the Eagles just the Packers on steroids, and is Rodgers' time with the Jets the worst 2nd act to a career of any of his QB peers?

  • 4PM: Getting High on Love!
Jim Rutledge and Matt Hamilton hold it down for their Valentine's Day special (as it's the last show before Matt is out to curl in Colorado for a week). Time apart makes love grow stronger, but Jim thinks Valentine's Day is amateur hour of romantic holidays. They discuss the best days to celebrate with the ones you love, and Jim "earnestly" asks producer Primetime to provide the view for the single fellas whose heads are hitting the pillow along. Matt also gets excited for USA hockey crushing Finland in the 4 Nations Face-Off this weekend (even though he can't remember the name of the event...) Evan Cohen joins Jim and Matt to talk about all the "winner" QB drama he stirred up around ESPN Wisconsin. Evan explains why so many people missed the essence of what he was saying with the take that "winner" isn't the first thing he associates with Aaron Rodgers. Evan also gives Matt and producer Primetime credit for finally nailing this whole radio thing. • 5PM: Wisconsin Sports Fan Heartbreak
Jim Rutledge and Matt Hamilton roll into the heartbreak hour of their Valentine's Day show. Following Evan Cohen's appearance and with his shared distaste for this "hallmark holiday", Jim makes the case that Valentine's Day isn't even the worst day to be dumped on/before. Jim, Matt, and producers Primetime and Krissy discuss the worst holidays to get dumped before. Prime shares his expertise as the extremely single guy on the show. They continue discussing heartbreak with today's Siding Unlimited poll question -- Which Wisconsin sports team left us the most heartboken after failing to meet expectations: the 2011 Packers, 2011 Badgers Football, 2014-15 Badgers Men's Basketball, or the 2008 Brewers (aka the CC Sabathia team)? Which program/franchise is most unlikely to ever get back to a championship (aka Badgers basketballl..)? They play Molly's Game, and Molly Brown really phones it in with her NBA All-Star weekend props and lines. They go Poll Dancing, answering questions about Valentine's Day traps and the most important piece of good sub sandwiches. Matt wraps up Valentine's Day by describing the dazzling details of the dinner he's gonna make for wife Jen, brought to you by Metcalfe's Market!
