They talk about the Olympic sports that most average joes could pick up (if they dedicated their life to it). • 4PM: Olympic Paywalls Are Anti-Fan!
Jim Rutledge & Molly Brown roll for the second straight edition of Jim & Molly while Matt is still off celebrating the summer Olympics in parts unknown. Jim & Molly begin the show with their own celebration for the over-achieving US Women's rugby team and star Ilona Maher, even though their not allowed to replay any of the calls/clips from the team's iconic Bronze medal win. Jim rails against NBC's stupidity for not allowing people to re-share their Olympic content, an Molly asks why the Kelce's have to be involved in everything including the Olympics? Actor and comedian Hannibal Buress joins the show in-studio while in town for his pop-in show at Comedy on State tonight! Jim & Molly begin asking Hannibal about his wide-ranging background in movies, standup comedy, music, writing and more - including the Eric Andre Show, writing for SNL, owning/operating his own performance venue, and working in the MCU! • 5PM: Is It Win NOW for Green Bay Packers?
Jim Rutledge & Molly Brown continue to collect themselves following a fantastic appearance from actor/comedian Hannibal Buress in Hour 1. They finally shift to today's Packers topic, as Jim reacts to a point that Evan Cohen made on X/Twitter that seemingly re-affirms Jim's takes on Super Bowl winning QBs. Jim asks if the Packers best chance to win a Super Bowl with Jordan Love is in 2024 (while he's still on a cost-controlled contract)? Jason Wilde joins Jim & Molly to talk everything from intro music to the Olympics to the Packers! Jason begins asking why his nickname for producer Primetime Wollersheim (aka the sommelier) never stuck, and he discovers the well-hidden nickname of his longtime colleague Jim Polzin of the Wisconsin State Journal. Jim also shares some of his fascination/fandom for the US Women's rugby team and their star player Ilona Maher. They talk about the Olympic sports that most average joes could pick up (if they dedicated their life to it). Molly also asks Jason about the perception that the Packers still just have it "figured out" with developing QBs after signing Love to a mega-deal, and Jim asks Jason if this season is the Packers' best chance to win a Super Bowl with Love under center? Throwing Stones includes takes about the Brewers sticking to their financially-reasonable philosophy at today's trade deadline and the idea of a "family section" for air travel. They wrap up the show with Jim's advice for nervous flyers like himself.

  • 4PM: New Expectations for Love
Jim Rutledge & Molly Brown hold down the show while Matt's away on his annual fishing vacation. They react to the news that Jordan Love is now officially tied for the NFL's highest-paid QB (which broke immediately after Friday's show...) With the expectations of a massive payday now finally here, Jim & Molly discuss what the new bar needs to be for Love, how many "clunker" games he can afford to have with this salary, and why he'll need to overcome historical precedent to lead Green Bay back to the promised land. They also react to the take from Evan Cohen of Unsportsmanlike, who's betting that Jordan Love will have made the most money in NFL history by the time he retires. Jim also makes the case that Jordan Love isn't even the third-best QB in his own draft class! Also, should Jordan Love get the benefit of being able to hide his growing pains while sitting for three years, unlike his peers like Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert.

  • 5PM: Jordan Love Pressure Dial
Jim Rutledge & Molly Brown roll into the start of Hour 2 with further conversation about if Jordan Love should be considered a top 3 quarterback in his own draft class. Jim says that Tua could have the doubter eating "dolphin"/"tuna" soon if he starts to win in the playoffs, and Justin Herbert is head and shoulders above Love. Matt Hamilton calls in from his own fishing trip in parts unknown to give his first on-air thoughts about Love's contract extension, including why Love deserved the deal and why he's hopeful but still very nervous for Love. Jim also asks Olympic gold medalist Matt Hamilton if he remembers the names of other gold medalists the day after their win, and they talk what olympic sports that most average joes could go far in if they picked it up from a young age - equestrian, golfing, badminton, fencing and more all catch the disrespect! Throwing Stones includes Molly becoming a college football girlie this fall and Jim educating the masses about the Last Supper. They wrap up the show with a quick shoutout to a lonely Jesse Nelson at tonight's Great Dane Huddle.
