  • Doug Jones and the Alabama Miracle
Tuesday night's stunning victory by Doug Jones in Alabama on the first night of Chanukah struck MOMocrat Donna Schwartz Mills as something of a holiday miracle - especially after pronouncing to her co-hosts that she was certain that Roy Moore was going to win. Today, Donna eats her words as she and partners Aliza Worthington and Karoli discuss the aftermath of the special election and other pressing issues, including: today's ruling on net neutrality, the Republican attack on the impartiality of the Mueller investigation, the tax bill, and the failed attempt by right wing dirty tricksters to frame Chuck Schumer for sexual misconduct. Politics from a progressive point of view, produced by Engender Media Group.

  • The Tax Bill is a Turkey - And It's Likely to Pass
The MOMocrats took the week off to celebrate Thanksgiving with family, and in that week a lot seemed to happen: More sexual harrassment allegations against powerful men in government and media, a possible Michael Flynn deal, an FCC intention to end net neutrality, an ever more powerful missile test by North Korea - and a hurricane of terrible Trump tweets. So it would be understandable if Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills were too distracted to pay attention to the tax bill being debated by the Senate today. But they weren't, and they will talk about it in this week's political podcast from a progressive point of view. An Engender Media Group production.

  • Men Behaving Badly - The Senate Edition
As the MOMocrats went on the air last week, news broke of Roy Moore's past predilection for dating (and assaulting) underage girls when he was a 30-something district attorney in Alabama. That story has dominated this week's political news to the point that few of us have given much thought to the awful GOP tax bill or whatever it is Trump did on his Asian trip. And today, Al Franken is on the hot seat for inappropriate behavior in his past life as an entertainer, with calls for the influential Democratic Senator to resign. MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills will attempt to navigate the minefield of changing standards (for the better - we hope) as they talk politics from a progressive point of view. An Engender Media Group production.

  • After the Elections: Good Day, Sunshine
The nation still faces the same problems it had one week ago, beginning with the party in power and includes the rift among those on the left who are fighting to win the country back. But the resounding citizen participation of this week's off-year elections (especially in Virginia) give renewed hope to MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills - who promise that there will be basking in this week's political podcast from a progressive point of view... before they go into the litany of those problems we mentioned above. An Engender Media Group production.

  • The More You Know: Paul Manafort Edition
The MOMocrats return from a two-week lay-off with the situation eerily the same: The news cycle is crazy fast. This week began with the indictment of Paul Manafort and two others from the Trump campaign, and each day, there are shocking new revelations. Congress is still trying to pass a tax cut for the rich and sell it as a benefit for the middle class. The President is quick to condemn a terrorist attack by a Muslim immigrant but still thinks that when white nationalists terrorize, there are good people on both sides. And the Democrats have their own problems with a new memoir from Dona Brazile. Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss all ifrom the progressive point of view. Check back here an hour from airtime for a list of the topics. An Engender Media Group production.

  • If At First You Don't Succeed in Congress, Sign an Executive Order
Trump promised to get rid of Obamacare on Day One - and soon discovered what the rest of us who pay attention already knew: Healthcare is complicated. And it isn't easy to erase a law that has helped millions of Americans obtain health insurance for the first time, even when you've gerrymandered the rules so you can do it with a simple majority. So he's taken to destroying the law by shortening the enrollment period, eliminating budget, taking the enrollment website down for maintenance on weekends when people are most likely to use it... and now, refusing to pay the subsidies that help people pay for the higher premiums that have resulted from all the previous measures. MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills have a few things to say about that, as well as reports that this president's mental state is increasingly erratic... and how those whispers about invoking the 25th admendment are getting louder -- from actual Republicans. Also an extensive conversation on the fallout from the Harvey Weinstein revelations. Politics from the progressive point of view, produced by Engender Media Group.

  • Las Vegas Was the Site of Real American Carnage
Donald Trump's inaugural address tried to make the case that American cities are rife with "carnage" in the streets, which he dogwhistled was due to immigrants and people of color. The statistics of mass shootings in the US prove otherwise, and Las Vegas is just the latest and most horrifying example. Once again, the message of GOP talking points is "now is not the time" to talk about reasonable gun safety legislation. However, Congress has quietly withdrawn a proposal to allow citizens to purchase silencers (which was originally scheduled for a vote just before members of Congress were shot during softball practice). And there appears to be a willingness of some Republican Senators to talk about banning "bump stocks," which the Las Vegas killer used to modify his semi-automatic weapons into non-stop killing machines. MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills will also talk about the non-Vegas news of the week: including Puerto Rico, the Russia investigation, and the gerrymandering case before the Supreme Court. • Is Puerto Rico Going to Be Remembered as Trump's Katrina?
Help is finally on its way to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands - a staggering nine days after Hurricane Maria became the SECOND Category 4 storm to hit the US territories in the space of a couple of weeks. There's a lot of speculation as to why it has taken the Trump Administration so long to respond to this disaster, and MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills have their own theories. We do think Trump was more interested in disparaging peaceful protests of police brutality by NFL players, the crazy Republican election run-off in Alabama, yet another failure at repealing Obamacare... and a tax "reform" plan that will only benefit the wealthy. Politics from a progressive point of view produced by Engender Media Group.

  • Ways the New Obamacare Repeal Bill is Like the Walking Dead
The Senate Republicans have one last chance to repeal Obamacare before September 30, and by golly -- this time, they are determined to do it. If the saga of taking away healthcare from Americans reminds you of a zombie movie, you are not alone -- and if this one passes, we are ALL gonna be the Walking Dead, say MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills, who talk about actions you can take right now (even if you live in a blue state with Democratic Senators). Also on discussion this week: The disasters in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the United Nations... and the continuing saga of Aliza's disappearing Black Lives Matters signs. Politics discussed from a progressive point of view by the MOMocrats - an Engender Media Group production.

  • DACA May Actually Make America Great Again
Could Trump actually do something right by making DACA law? Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi think so - even if it will still be a huge hurdle to get a bill approved in Congress. In the meantime, MOMocrats Aliza Worthington, Karoli, and Donna Schwartz Mills are enjoying the angst yesterday's announcement has caused among the #MAGA crowd. They discuss this and other political developments of the week - including Bernie's healthcare plan and Hillary Clinton's new book - from a progressive point of view. An Engender Media Group production.
