  • MOMocrats MOMochat: The Morning After
We did it. President Obama will have four more years -- with a slightly larger majority in the Senate. That does not mean a second term will be any easier: GOP Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell made that clear last night, and the House remains firmly in Republican control.
But we'll deal with that next week. This morning, the MOMocrats want to relish the very big wins we made: from the Presidency, to the defeat of Tea Party candidates who tried to redefine rape, to the triumph of Senator-Elect Elizabeth Warren... and more.

  • MOMocrats MOMochat: Scarier Than President Mitt?
It's Halloween, but the MOMocrats are not in the mood for celebration. Hurricane Sandy was the worst kind of October surprise: the kind that kills. While the President cancels campaign stops and acts Presidential (you know, doing the job he was elected to do), his challenger claimed to halt his campaign rallies -- and went on to hold a campaign rally. And as FEMA mobilized to help Americans affected by the "Superstorm," news organizations remembered that Mitt said he would do away with Federal emergency services during those endless Republican primary debates. What does he think now that millions of Americans are relying on the agency for assistance? Not surprisingly - he won't say.
MOMocrats Cynematic, Karoli, Lee Reyes-Fournier and Donna Schwartz Mills also welcome California Assembly candidate Sharon Quirk-Silva.

  • MOMocrats MOMochat: 13 Days to Go!
On Monday night, Mitt Romney shapeshifted into a candidate that seemed eerily familiar: the foreign policy initiatives he said he supported sounded just like what the Obama Administration is doing right now. This time, the President was ready for him and most post-debate polls say Obama was the winner.
But with the debates over and the candidates running neck in neck, both campaigns are now in full Get Out the Vote mode... and we're hearing ominous stories of ballot manipulation in the battleground states.
MOMocrats Cynematic, Donna Schwartz Mills, Karoli, and Lee Reyes-Fournier discuss.

  • MOMocrats MOMochat: As the RomneyVane Turns & Run, Mama Run
The Mitt Romney who showed up at the first Presidential debate last week is a different guy than the "severe conservative" who won the GOP nomination. And in an interview with the Des Moines Register yesterday, he flip-flopped yet AGAIN on women's health issues and Roe v Wade. And as usual when Romney "misspeaks," within hours, his campaign corrected his statement to a conservative media outlet. Will the President call him out on this in their next debate? And how will Joe Biden fare tomorrow night against Paul Ryan?
Lee Reyes-Fournier, Donna Schwartz Mills and Cynematic discuss.
Also, Cyn interviews Tulsi Gabbard, Democratic rising star running for Congress in Hawaii.

  • MOMocrats California Special: The Ballot Propositions
What's the deal with the ballot initiatives that purport to raise funds for education? Supporters of Proposition 32 claim that it would bar special interests from donating to campaign without loopholds -- opponents say that's a big fat lie. And what's the big fuss over labeling GMO foods?
The California MOMocrats weigh in on the state ballot -- the propositions, who is behind them and why that matters.
