Join me for an awesome girl chat with my bestie, Tamara "Tammy" Pagan. Tammy is one of my bestest and dearest friends. She's also someone I can always turn to and talk to who can really relate to the struggles and joys of being a single mama, a working mama, a special needs mama and a friend. It's tough being a Mama so it's important to find your tribe. I hope you enjoy this episode that is in 2 parts. Enjoy Part 1 as we talk all things MAMA!

If you're a Mama, then you're familiar with meltdowns. But if you're a Mama with a kiddo on the spectrum, Meltdowns are a part of our daily life. We spend so much time and effort trying to help our little ones manage their feelings and regulate themselves when they're feeling overwhelmed. But how about you Mama? How do you regulate yourself when navigating our kids' meltdowns? I felt the need to talk about this more so that we can normalize it more. Because adults can have meltdowns too.

Ever wondered what a day in the life of a Mama was like? I mean we all can related to the daily roller coaster rides of Mom Life. But do you really know what we all go through on a daily? I think it's different for us all. Especially, for moms with kids on the spectrum. It's always interesting to me to hear what other moms are going through or what they've found throughout their journey, what works and what doesn't. And even though it may be different for everyone, it's nice to know that we're a not alone, even if we feel alone most days. Hope you find this inspiring, informative and maybe even humorous.

This episode was EPIC. Seriously, if you haven't heard any of my episodes, PLEASE listen to this one. I had a very special and inspiring conversation, with an amazing human being. Mr. Jim Elliott, President and Founder of Diveheart, a not-for-profit organization was kind enough to share with me his journey and all the amazing work he and his organization is doing for people with disabilities. Through his many years of experience as a Scuba Diver and as a Journalist, he has developed a training program that offers people with disabilities the opportunity to learn how to Scuba Dive through a form of therapy called Adaptive Diving. I'm not even exaggerating. There is actual scientific proof and research that has been done on this, showing that through Adaptive Diving, people with all types of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, ALS, just to name a few, have been able to gain back confidence and independence. It really is an amazing story and organization, and I hope you all enjoy this episode.
You can contact Jim Elliott for more information or to learn more about the stories of the people that this community has impacted at:

I am always talking about Self Care for us Mamas. Because we definitely need it to stay sane and healthy both physically and mentally. But how about our little humans? Don't they need self care too? I've found a few ways that you can provide self-care for the kiddos too, especially if they are challenged with trying to regulate their emotions and feelings. These little things have helped me so much. You know your child best so do what's best for them and you.
