Hello Mamas. Well, in keeping with the family traditions that so many of us endure each and every year, we finally decided to make our very first pilgrimage to the "Most Magical Place on Earth". But was it truly the most magical place on earth? I don't know about you Mamas out there, but for us mamas with kids with special needs, in particular, ASD, it wasn't so magical. Not to say that it wasn't a great time had by all,
but it definitely did not turn out the way I thought it would or how I had pictured it in my mind. And even though, in true Enneagram 6 fashion, I was prepared both mentally and physically for this adventure, at the end of the day, it wasn't that bad. Hope you enjoy this 1st part of our Family Fun Pilgrimage to the World of Mickey Mouse.

I'm so happy to be back to talk about my favorite time of the year. OCTOBER is here baby! For many reasons, this is one of my favorite months and time of the year. Which includes, Halloween, the start of the holiday season (well in my world it is) and birthdays galore, including yours truly! Woohoo. So, if you're like me and love to celebrate Halloween, etc.., the I hope you all enjoy this episode, as I talk about how I prep for the upcoming festivities.

"Life as a Mama shouldn't be so ruff'" . But it is and instead of always stressing over the constant cleaning up and picking up of toys, clothes, food, etc., the overflow of the never-ending laundry pile, the sticky floors, the leftover toys in every single room, or the bathroom takeover by your toddler, let's take a moment and remember that this too shall pass. I know that eventually I will be able to just sit and have a phone conversation without interruption, I will sleep, I will always know where the remote control is, I will finally have my own space in the living room and there will be no more toys to pick up. But there will also be no more hugs and snuggles, no more overflowing joy when I come home from work, no more sing alongs with Alex during breakfast, no more reading story books and no more little human crawling in to bed with me because he had a bad dream. So I don't know about you Mamas, but I'm gonna' embrace the chaos.

Just a quick Blip on expectations and how we Mamas perceive our motherhood journey. Expectations vs Reality are two totally different things. Motherhood is not what you perceive it to be. For me, motherhood was not what I dreamed of. But that's not a bad thing. Sometimes, we focus too much on how we think motherhood should look like, and we don't realize that how it actually turns out to be, is just as amazing!! So don't sweat it Mamas. Just because your kid's first birthday, or their first day of school , or their first trip to Disney, is not how you thought it would be, doesn't mean your kid is not happy and that you're not doing a great job. BELIEVE me!! You are doing amazing!

Anyone ever feel like just staying home and not socializing. Well, I have always been an introvert, but I don't know about you, but ever since the Global Pandemic Shutdown, it's been hard for me to get myself out there. Now more than ever I feel that social connection is crucial but not always easy for us Mamas. Can anyone else relate to this?

Well the kiddos are going to back to school. At least down here in the South they are. So how do we all feel about this? Some of us are experiencing the Back to School Blues for the very 1st time and I know it's tough. Some of our kiddos are heading to PreK, like my little one, Kindergarten, High School or College. It's a very euphoric and proud moment as a Mama to see our little ones moving on to their next stage in education. But it's also a crazy and chaotic time, getting everyone and everything ready and getting everyone back on their routines. So how are you all coping?? Let me know. Hope everyone is having a great day.
P.S. I've recently incorporated meditation in my daily routine and although, I was never a big fan of meditation, I'm so glad I tried it. Check out my favorite app on IG @insighttimer or download the Insight Timer app.

Today's episode doesn't really have an agenda. I just felt the need to share and check in with all my Mamas out there. Sometimes, having an outlined agenda for a podcast episode isn't as important as just showing up. Hope you're all enjoying your summer.

Sooner or later, Grief will affect us all. During these trying times, enduring a global pandemic, and losing loved ones, relationships ending, jobs and homes being lost, I feel like we've all endured grief at some point or another. So I felt the need to talk about grief and how it's affect me and how I've handled it. This wasn't an easy topic for me and warn you...I do get a bit emotional. But I promise you, I tried my best not to make this episode a very sad and depressing one.

I really didn't have an agenda or a specific topic for this episode. June has been a very emotional, busy and monumental Month for me full of milestones, endings, beginnings and remembering my Dad and all Dads of the world. After all, they should have a month too.
