Marshall played for the Denver Broncos for two years and the New York Giants for three years. He played college football for the University of Georgia and is a member of the University of Georgia Football Hall of Fame.

Following his collegiate gameplay, Marshall was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent from 1992 to 1993. Marshall was then signed by the New York Giants from 1994 to 1996.
