Moody Presents

Welcome to MOODY PRESENTS with Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute and Senior Pastor of New Life Community Church in Chicago. Today we continue in Nehemiah chapter 5 where Nehemiah, in the process of the huge rebuilding effort of Jerusalem, rebuked the church and its leaders over questionable and unjust money handling. There needed to be reform and he called them out. Many of us also need this same message and Pastor Mark takes us there next.

We are continuing the current series in the book of Nehemiah…and it’s all about rebuilding our lives, families, churches, our cities… Nehemiah had a burden and a vision about rebuilding his city, but first, had to rebuild the church there so that God could then change the whole city.

Today we’re going to tie all of this into things that you and I struggle with on a daily basis.  Pastor Mark likes to call it, “dealing with internal struggles.” Yuh see, every building effort has to start from within. And one of our main internal struggles is dealing with our finances just as Nehemiah did as he worked to rebuild. We talk about money in this message… and seeing as 20% of what Jesus taught on was money, it’s worth going over! Especially as it relates to how Nehemiah dealt with it.

With part 1 of The Battle Inside the Wall, here’s Mark Jobe in Nehemiah chapter 5… with today’s MOODY PRESENTS.

Welcome to MOODY PRESENTS with Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute and Senior Pastor of New Life Community Church in Chicago. Any military general will tell you that a good strategy is key to overcoming the enemy. When it comes to moving forward with God in our spiritual lives, the same is true…opposition will come and weaknesses exposed. Pastor Mark says that we need to protect those vulnerable areas while we’re working at our call or it could all come to a grinding stop. We pick up today where we left off last time in Nehemiah chapter 4 where we’ll continue learning solid principles in the rebuilding process.

We’re in a verse-by-verse study of the book of Nehemiah and we’re at the point where Nehemiah has been given the go-ahead and is contemplating the first step in the rebuilding process.

Pastor Mark will help us correlate the rebuilding of the walls and temple of Nehemiah’s day to the restoration of our lives.  Most importantly we will see the the initial steps, the plan, if you will, dictates how all other steps will be aligned.  So…it’s important to get started in the right way.

Join us now in Nehemiah chapter 2, starting in verse 11. Here’s Pastor Mark Jobe with today’s MOODY PRESENTS.

Welcome to MOODY PRESENTS with Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute and Senior Pastor of New Life Community Church in Chicago. We are in REBUILDING mode here on Moody Presents where we are learning how we can overhaul our lives, our cities and our world.   A big part of that rebuild is timing.  You’ve heard it before… timing is everything. Nehemiah had a burden, something that gripped his soul. He knew he had to act, but there was a patience there as well.  When it comes to rebuilding we can jump in too quickly so we want to give some steps to take while we WAIT for the proper time

The title of the message today is, “The Hand of God” and our Bible text is Nehemiah 2. Follow along, and when you have time read it and study it on your own. Thank you for listening to Moody Presents.

Welcome to MOODY PRESENTS with Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute and Senior Pastor of New Life Community Church in Chicago. We are continuing our study of the fascinating life of Nehemiah. His heart was stirred for the destroyed city of Jerusalem and he became burdened to do something about it. He just wasn’t sure what… or how. There’s much to learn about the process he went through with God to discover those next steps. Today, Pastor Mark picks things up in Part 2 of Owning The Ruins and what it means to act on a heart that is burdened to rebuild.

It's time for MOODY PRESENTS with Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute. We’re currently studying the Old Testament prophet Nehemiah—it’s all about Restoring vision, reviving hearts and rebuilding churches and cities. That sounds like a big task!...BUT  we have the blueprint and an example in Nehemiah of how to do it right. It all starts with “owning the ruins”. We need to act when God moves in our hearts and we have a success story to follow.  We find that story in Nehemiah chapter 1, here’s Mark Jobe with today’s MOODY PRESENTS.
