If you grew up like me, then you always had a steady flow of people around you saying, "now's not the time for that." Whether you are at someone's ritual, talking with a supposed friend, dabbling in a bit of romance, or just trying to mind your own business on a damn Saturday, it always seems as if what you would like to do is put aside for later. The art job is not stable. The new degree will take too long. And, besides, we all know that only certain people are intuitive enough to start a business. So, it is back to the same old, same old for you because, in your mind, you are not special enough to accomplish anything extraordinary. With this mindset, it is no wonder that so few people are successful. I know that may sound like a cliche, but this is no positive thinking nonsense. We are smack dab in the middle of a unique moment in history that no one should let go to waste. I'm not expecting you to do anything amazing. We live in era where words like "amazing" or "genius" are practically stapled to the foreheads of anyone with a few million, and a twitter account. I'm not asking you to excel. I'm asking you to be different. That's right, contrary, otherworldly, out there, not in a conspiratorial way, but in a way that will only make you happy. I want you to stand up, and speak out. I want you to let people know that you don't have to change for anyone, but yourself. I want you to be yourself in its truest form. I want you to remember what it's like to be a kid again. I want you to smile, you know, like you used to, before you stopped caring about your dreams. Why do I want all this for you? I mean, I don't know you. We'll most likely never meet, and I have absolutely nothing to gain. So, what gives? Why the advice? Because I know what I dream deterred can do to a person, and the consequences of such pain are far reaching. Sacrifice may be needed from time to time, but all of the sacrifice should not be coming from one person. I am often asked why people fall for conspiracy theories, and I always respond in the same way. Imagine being happy your whole life, and, then one day, none of it makes sense anymore. There is so much lying and treachery in the world, and it is all just so painful and overwhelming that you go searching for something, anything, to get away from the grind. Perhaps you end up on a particular website that promotes some interested ideas. Perhaps, in a world that is so careless, there is a secret cabal of greedy oligarchs waiting to pounce. Perhaps that is why you feel so inadequate, and on, and on it goes until you don't even remember what it's like to think science is real anymore. There has been a lot of conjecture about conspiracy theories, but at their heart they provide people with a spiritual narrative, a story line where they are saving the world from alien invaders, whether they be legal immigrants or little green men. It doesn't matter. I think that the best safeguard for conspiracy theories is speaking your mind, and by that I don't mean fantasizing about elite child sex rings. I am talking about voicing whatever serious concerns you have about the government in a legit, safe way like starting a blog or a podcast. It's nice to pretend we can't do anything to improve our situation, but it's just not true. We do need assistance, but we also have some control over what immediately happens to us. This means that we can fight back, not with violence, but with our minds. I'm the perfect example. When I started this podcast, I didn't know what the hell I was getting into, but I took a chance. I'm not super rich or anything, but there is real potential here. And, the more I try, and the more I grow, I notice that more and more people are listening. One and a half years ago I was bedridden with severe seizures. Now I am producing daily news for people. It may not seem like a lot. I may not ever be a celebrity. But my voice is in the record. The time is now to stand up and be heard.
