Dialogue:

同事甲: 劳动节马上就要到了。你打算去哪儿度假呀？

Láodòng jié mǎshàng jiù yào dàole. Nǐ dǎsuàn qù nǎ'er dùjià ya?

Labor Day Holiday is just about here. Where do you plan to go on vacation?

同事乙：每个景点都是人潮涌动，想想就心累！再说，到哪儿去都得抢票，好不容易抢到了，累的都没心情玩儿了。

Měi gè jǐngdiǎn dōu shì réncháo yǒng dòng, xiǎng xiǎng jiù xīn lèi! Zàishuō, dào nǎ'er qù dōu dé qiǎng piào, hǎobù róngyì qiǎng dàole, lèi de dōu méi xīnqíng wán erle.

Every scenic spot is crowded with people - Just thinking about it makes me tired! Besides, no matter where you go it's a huge competition to nab tickets before everyone else, and once you finally get them, you are so tired that you aren't in the mood to have fun.

同事丙：完全同意！今年五一我也打算宅在家里，吃吃喝喝。

Wánquán tóngyì! Jīnnián wǔyī wǒ yě dǎsuàn zhái zàijiālǐ, chīchīhēhē.

Totally agree! I also plan to stay at home during the May holiday this year, eating and drinking.

同事乙：但是好像只待在家里吃饭睡觉也太无聊了。你有没有听过现在的一种时尚度假方式，宅度假？

Dànshì hǎoxiàng zhǐ dài zàijiālǐ chīfàn shuìjiào yě tài wúliáole. Nǐ yǒu méiyǒu tīngguò xiànzài de yī zhǒng shíshàng dùjià fāngshì, zhái dùjià?

But it seems too boring to just stay at home, eating and sleeping. Have you ever heard of a kind of trendy way of vacationing now, "Staycationing"?

同事丙：没听说过。

Méi tīng shuōguò.

Never heard of it.

同事甲：难道我们有代沟了吗？

Nándào wǒmen yǒu dàigōule ma?

(Literally: So there's a generation gap between us?)

I must be getting old..

同事乙：宅度假就是说不去太远的地方旅游，而是在家附近的地方玩儿，甚至安排个一日游什么的。。预算也很美丽哦！

Zhái dùjià jiùshì shuō bu qù tài yuǎn dì dìfāng lǚyóu, ér shì zàijiā fùjìn dì dìfāng wán er, shènzhì ānpái gè yī rì yóu shénme de.. Yùsuàn yě hěn měilì ó!

Doing a Staycation means not traveling too far away, but having fun in places near home, or even arranging a day trip or something. . It's also quite budget-friendly!

同事甲：我老公一定会觉得这是个很不错的主意。他最喜欢省钱了。那你打算怎么宅度假呢？

Wǒ lǎogōng yīdìng huì juédé zhè shìgè hěn bùcuò de zhǔyì. Tā zuì xǐhuān shěng qiánle. Nà nǐ dǎsuàn zěnme zhái dùjià ne?

My husband will definitely think this is a very good idea. His favorite thing is saving money. So what are you going to do on your Staycation?

同事乙：我觉得徒步，骑马，或者彩蛋射击都可以考虑。

Wǒ juédé túbù, qímǎ, huòzhě cǎidàn shèjí dōu kěyǐ kǎolǜ.

I think hiking, horseback riding, or paintball are all do-able.

同事丙：这些活动我也都喜欢。

Zhèxiē huódòng wǒ yě doū xǐhuān.

I also like doing all those things.

同事甲：要不然，我们来个集体宅度假吧！

Yào bùrán, wǒmen lái gè jítǐ zhái dùjià ba!

How about we all do something together on our Staycation!

同事乙和丙：一言为定！

Yī yán wéi dìng!
