Dakota is back from the Creative Educators Conference in Dallas, and she's got thoughts.
We talk about some of the speakers she heard from, what makes a good conference great, and most importantly, we discuss the major marketing misstep we see in the course selling world (and the ethical implications of it).
Come do it like we do, and ride the rollercoaster that is More Than Creative, The Podcast.

Part of More Than Creative's ethos is we never do something for others that we haven't first done for ourselves. In order for us to confidently offer the Content Campaign service to our clients, we had to try it ourselves.
This is our review of our first More Than Creative Content Campaign. We talk about the planning and execution of our idea, and the unexpected challenges but potential benefits of the effort.
We aren't afraid to pull back the curtain and let you get a peek. Come check it out on Episode 013 of More Than Creative, The Podcast!

It's that time of the year, and it's planning for quarter number two!
The MTC team did a lot in Q1, and we are ready to do even more in Q2. In this episode, we cover what we are looking forward to in the upcoming quarter, but also some of the things we are proud we completed in the last.
Quarterly planning isn't all about the future; it's also about reflecting on the past. Come listen to us do both in this episode of More Than Creative, The Podcast!

Not only have we been launching and building websites, we've also published—and will be publishing—a monthly newsletter for one of our clients.
We talk about some of the potential pitfalls when it comes to sending newsletters and the endless benefits, and in signature MTC style, we obviously talk about wherever our thoughts take us.
Come ramble with us on EP 011 of More Than Creative, The Podcast!

The team has been busy, and we wanna talk about it!
We recently launched a website for a local custom builder, so we figured we do our review of it on the record. We talk about how we balanced creativity and website norms, whether it makes sense for you to have an About page or not, and more.
Of course we stray off the path a little bit, but it's all about the journey, not the destination!

What is content even supposed to be? Yeah, maybe you can end up being an influencer in some aspects, but your real passion (and money maker) is your business, so where does content fit into that?
Well, content is about opening the doors to a conversation — and giving people who you don't know yet something to ask you about.
Whether it's Weston and the weather or Dakota and Dune, helping a conversation's cold open be a little more cool can all be done through content creation.
Check out this and more in the most recent episode of More Than Creative, The Podcast!

Creativity and the blank page can be daunting. Where do you even start when you can start anywhere? All the options can keep us stuck and unable to move.
How do we fix that? Restrictions. We share examples about how restrictions have launched music careers and lead to critical success, and the ways you can restrict yourself to get the thinking started.
Sometimes all we need are some guidelines to get the pen flowing.
While we know rabbit holes can be endless, they can also be fun sometimes.
So what do you say, Alice? Wanna come down this rabbit hole with us?

This week on the podcast we are talking all about the Super Bowl! Commercials, the halftime show, and the game. We talk about the highlights of the commercials and some of this year’s biggest stinkers (but did they really fail that bad since we’re still talking about them?).
In classic MTC style, we drift all over the place and end up talking about the music industry, PR, and who’s better, Taylor Swift or Bob Dylan and Beyoncé?
Figure out the answer and more on EP 007 of More Than Creative, The Podcast.

We all know that sometimes life happens and things just get in the way. We move, have babies, change business models, and a plethora of other things, big and small.
But how do we keep our head when it feels like the world is spinning and we can't get a grip, and how do we prepare for life changing events when we see them on the horizon and can't do anything to stop them?
Weston and I talk about panic in EP 006 of More Than Creative, The Podcast, what it feels like to panic, how it can be made worse, and how you can get out of it, or at the very least steady the ship through the storm.
If you're feeling panicked or you have recently, let's take some deep breaths together and have a listen.

This week we discuss creative and genius, how successful marketing tells stories, and the value in consistently making time to think and create.
Come join us in the break room! We look forward to you hearing the discussion.
