This episode is about rejection and how, as a dancer, you actually get better at moving through it.
Rejection comes up a lot. You go for things, you don’t always get them, and sometimes it can feel like it’s happening all the time. And especially as a beginner dancer the whole class experience can feel like a bunch of rejections.
I share a bit about my college experience auditioning for clubs, putting myself out there, and not getting everything I went for. It’s not always about the rejection itself, it’s about how you move through it.
Being a dancer means you’re constantly recovering. You learn how to keep going, how to show up again, and how to not let one moment define you.
Rejection will always be part of life and like a skill we can get better at handling it.
The learning process can feel like rejection too. Like you’re not getting it, not picking it up fast enough, not where you want to be yet.
Dance builds your resilience and your ability to keep going anyway and youll be able to see how practicing rejection at dance will help you deal with rejection in life.
