Let's face it, life is always life-ing and its hard sometimes to navigate the recurring obstacles.
I am here to walk you through what I see as the most common obstacles that prevent my current and prospective students from dancing.
Obstacles are part of the process AND they don't have to stop your progress.

Sometimes we think we don't have expectations... and then we find ourselves disappointed and don’t know why because the expectation was quiet, hidden, unspoken. It was still there all along despite our best efforts to not have expectations.
This episode is the realization that to control it all is impossible. and that our "Suffering exists because of unfulfilled expectations." - (A buddhist philopsophy)
This episode dives into expectations and how they get the best of you.
I help you manage your expectations and how to give yourself more control and live with less disappointment with these 5 techniques:
Expectations are your future control disguised as hope.
Once we learn to release these expectations we get better outcomes and are able to live in more happiness.

The most frustrating thing as a dancer and a person is to feel like you are working so hard on something like a skill and not getting anywhere. I'm here to tell you that this moment, is where the magic is happening! Because when it doesn't feel like its working... it actually is.
I share a story about one of my clients and how she persevered and had a great result and the pleasure I had in guiding her through.
Uncover my secret skill to get unstuck.
Feeling stuck never feels good and never speaks words of encouragement. It makes you question what you really want.
Learning the skill of getting unstuck can help you realize you what you deserve and how bad you really want something.

This episode is the kick in the butt you didn't ask for.
You want it... do you actually have what it takes to get it?
We know what we want and we can make goals, yet we find ourselves not achieving them.
In this episode we talk about having what it takes:
•Showing up consistently with discipline
•Getting gritty (and how I love that word)
•Understanding perspective enough to know what is a distraction
•Building emotional resilience and endurance when it is hard and we want to quit or when things don't go our way and we don't understand at the time
•How to keep showing up even when the results aren’t instant
•And why the long game matters is just as important...
This one might sting... AND it also might help you gain the perspective that this "thing" that you want... you might not want it bad enough if you don't want to do all this... and thats ok!
and maybe you already have what it takes... now maybe you can lean into it with less fear and trust that you will eventually get there if you keep it up!

In this episode, I define your "Green Area" and how every road you take leads you there. (Everyone has one, so don't worry) The green area is your abundant zone, the part of life that feels aligned.
This episode is about trusting your decisions and knowing that if you take a different road you will still end up getting to your "green" because life is constantly guiding your towards the green... your abundant area... or your destiny.
This year, my word of the year is "Decide" and I have reflected on this enough to know that decisions are powerful. I once called myself indecisive and I now have "reclaimed" this word and call myself "thorough". This has more power and is a trait I actually like.
I share about one of my biggest decisions of opening up my dance studio and how the first interaction started from one, funny decision, to call the number on the building. Life softy guiding me towards my green.
This episode is about trusting yourself and knowing that if you take a different road, you are still going to get where you are meant to be... "go for the green!"

Learning how to dance is one thing. Learning how to learn dance is another. You can have raw talent... or you can be really strategic with how you bring information in.
In this episode I talk about:
If you have ever felt overloaded with information when dancing, focus on this and watch how you improve!

Mistakes, mess ups, f*ck ups are not optional.
They happen on stage, at practice, at work and in life. The goal isn’t perfection. (Remember that's impossible because perfection doesn't exist!)
The goal is knowing what to do when something goes wrong… and making sure no one else even notices.
In this episode, I talk about what I call "rehearsing the f*ck-up*", the art of bouncing back in real time, pivoting, and leaning on your other talents to get you through it.
I share a story of my very first DJ experience, a wedding, which had me panicking because something did not go according to plan.
I got through it the way I’ve gotten through a lot of things by using the same tools we use on stage:
→ I leaned on my talent
→ I acted like nothing happened (a very useful secret)
→ And I redirected attention by using presence, poise, and the power of distraction.
In dance, much like in life you can always recover...even more so when you believe that you can.
When you know how to use your other qualities (your stillness, your lines, your energy, your gaze), you create a moment that no one questions... I call it an accidental solo.
This episode is part story time, part strategy, and a full permission f*ck up beautifully.. remember "strong and wrong" like my ballet teacher taught me.

As we honor Mental Health Awareness Month, I thought it would be fitting to talk about the moments when dance is not enough and what you can do about it.
This episode dives into the difference between dancing for an audience and dancing for yourself and why that shift matters when you are healing or triggered.
I talk about what happens when wounds get reopened, you get triggered, and when things feel heavy and dance doesn’t feel like the outlet it usually is.
I share how dance can shift during harder seasons, and how you can learn to dance differently:
→ Dancing inward instead of outward
→ Letting go of performance and choosing expression
→ Honoring the 20% you do have, instead of forcing 100%
I also open up about my own knee journey and how, even though dance is healing, it wasn’t the thing that healed me. Sometimes what you need is a doctor, a therapist, a pause, or a nervous system reset.
This episode is a gentle reminder that dance is powerful, AND you’re allowed to take breaks. You’re allowed to modify. You’re allowed to move slow.
And you’re still a dancer even when you don’t want to move.

We all carry beliefs we didn’t consciously choose to believe. Some we inherited and some we adopted in environments that didn’t give us room to be our full selves.
In this episode, I discuss what it means to unlearn the old stories/ old beliefs that keep you stuck and reclaim the parts of you that you silenced to fit in.
I used to quiet my voice in school because teachers constantly told me I was too loud. For years, I thought being loud made me "too much". I walk you through how I reclaimed this and embraced this quality and how, now, its one of my greatest assets.
I share a small and powerful moment when I said no to something and nothing fell apart. And I realized its fine to set boundaries.
We also get into how, whether you realize it or not, these old beliefs can turn into excuses that keep you from going after what you really want such as dancing!
Unlearning isn’t just about letting go, it’s about reclaiming your power, your voice, your body and, most importantly... your joy!

Let's talk about the ugly stage ... that in between where things feel cringy, awkward, and honestly... not cute.
The part where you are working towards a goal and you haven't seen (enough) progress.
This stage doesn't mean you’re failing or that you're not getting there... it means you’re in motion. The results will come!
Keep showing up through the mess and learn why the ugly stage is actually sacred. It’s where the real growth is happening.
It doesn't have to be pretty to be progress. The ugly stage is you doing it, before its polished or perfected. Its also the stage right before you elevate to the next level.
This episode is for anyone who’s working hard and not seeing enough results. You’re not behind. You’re just becoming.
Let it be ugly
Embrace the cringe
