Sometimes a verdict can be met with a lot of anger and resentment. On November 11th 1994 a young man was caught in the crosshairs of an angry mob and, when the trial for his killers eventually came to a close, many were left shocked and believing the court system may have gotten something wrong.

Mental health, while widely spoken about in modern times, did not always have a place in the world and in day to day conversations. In fact, living in the early 1800s with mental illness could be extremely dangerous. On November 10th 1805 a man who was, by today's standards, clearly suffering from mental illness, killed his entire family. A man whose health, when it came down to his punishment, had no place in the court of law.

It’s incredibly interesting finding out what small, seemingly inconsequential piece of evidence can break open even the most cold of cases. On November 9th 1976 a young girl was murdered and left in a cornfield only to have her case grow cold for around 35 years.
