The head of the World Health Organization says the number of cases of the new coronavirus in China continues to decline. Outside of China, 87-hundred and 39 cases have been reported from 61 countries. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says the W-H-O is not ready to declare the outbreak a pandemic.

The World Health Organization is raising the risk assessment of COVID-19 to ``very high'' at the global level.  The WHO’s Director-General says there are now 43-hundred and 51 cases of the new coronavirus in 49 countries.

Battle over private health care draws to a close after almost a decade in the courts 

A constitutional challenge by a doctor who argues patients should have the right to pay for private care if the public system leaves them waiting too long is expected to wrap up today in a Vancouver courtroom.

Dr. Brian Day began his battle a decade ago against the British Columbia government. The case started in B.C. Supreme Court in 2016 and final arguments are scheduled to come to a close today. 

Day, an orthopedic surgeon, has centred his battle on arguments around B.C. patients having a right to pay for services if wait times in the public system are too long.
