Who won Monday’s federal election debate?
It was a debate that at times was testy and featured lots of mudslinging and cross-talk from the leaders, all refusing to give an inch.
But Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau took the brunt of the criticism and the incumbent had to fight hard to defend his Liberal government's track record.
With the debate behind them, the leaders are fanning out on the campaign trail this morning.
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau will be talking about climate change during a visit to Iqaluit before flying back to Toronto.
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer and New Democrat Jagmeet Singh are spending the day in Toronto, where both parties are hoping to take seats from the Liberals.

46% of British Columbians feel lonely sometimes: survey
A new survey commissioned by the United Way has found 46% of British Columbians say they sometimes feel lonely, 38% say they feel isolated from other people in their community, and 41% say they don't have many people to talk to in their neighbourhood.
However, the survey found giving back in a group, whether it be donating time or money, increases feelings of fulfillment.
Regionally, Vancouver is home to the highest number of people reporting a strong sense of connection to their city, while people in the Fraser Valley and Northern BC are more likely to volunteer in groups many times per year.
The online survey questioned 800 adults around the province between September 13th and 18th.

Toronto no longer offering new licences to payday loan outlets
Starting immediately, Toronto won't be issuing any new licences for payday loan outlets amid concerns the companies are "predatory" toward low-income residents.
The major regulatory change was approved through a unanimous 20-0 vote from council last week, alongside other recommendations for the city’s payday loan industry.
A 2016 report from Vancity found there was a 58 per cent jump in the number of people in the province using payday loans.
In 2015, Maple Ridge passed a bylaw to ban any more payday loan and cheque cashing businesses from opening shop in the city.

Blood clots can be deadly yet most people wouldn’t recognize the signs and symptoms of them as they would a heart attack or stroke. A person can be completely healthy and have one. One in four deaths worldwide are related to blood clots.
Every year, there are approximately 10 million cases of blood clots globally. In the US and Europe, blood clot-related events kill more people than AIDS, breast cancer, prostate cancer and motor vehicle crashes combined. Medical conditions and surgeries can significantly increase risk of blood clots, as can cancer, pregnancy, even a hospital stay without surgery.
Given the grave, potentially fatal consequences of undiagnosed blood clots and the long-term effects of suffering from them, St. Paul’s Hospital’s Thrombosis Clinic is hosting two free public education sessions on Wednesday, Oct. 9 that will outline the symptoms and risk factors of blood clots. This is to mark World Thrombosis Day, which takes place Oct. 13.
