Chapter 1: Trudeau's four-year campaign to get Canada a UN Security Council seat ends as vote begins tomorrow

Voting to determine whether Canada will win a seat on the United Nations Security Council begins tomorrow. The Trudeau government wants to win this seat badly, and Canadian ambassadors have been lobbying international contacts for months.

That was the bleak conclusion of a report from the BC Financial Services Authority yesterday, and they were pretty explicit about the reasons for it.

Chapter 3: First evidence that a drug can improve survival rates for COVID-19

A couple of months ago, President Donald Trump was touting the drug hydroxychloroquine as a potential treatment for COVID-19. That never materialized, but now a study out of England is showing that the steroid ‘dexamethasone’ can improve survival rates among some of the worst cases.

Luna Kim is graduating from Westview Secondary School in Maple Ridge. After graduation, Luna plans to major in the Life Science Program at the University of Toronto. She would like to pursue a career in teaching. Her favourite subject in school was biology. The statue of Gassy Jack in the Vancouver neighbourhood of Gastown was vandalized; someone threw red paint on the old statue. It’s since been cleaned by city crews but it is now the latest local statue to become the target of those who say it’s a symbol of indigenous oppression in British Columbia. 

Jill Bennett spoke to Niki Reitmayer who shared some of the history of Gastown. Sheryl Rivers is a woman from the Squamish First Nation who recalls the oral history of Jack Deighton's 12-year old wife.
