After that, what happens if Cale Makar misses a few weeks with his upper body injury? Which teams can the Avs defeat in the playoffs without Makar in the lineup? Who do you want to see in the first round?

0:00 - The Avalanche doused the Calgary Flames 9-2 last night at Ball Arena and scored multiple power play goals! Plural! It was almost a perfect night, except for one thing. Cale Makar left the game and didn't return because of an "upper body injury." We haven't received any updates yet. How concerned are we? How concerned did Coach Bednar sound in his postgame presser yesterday?

13:52 - The Lions signed Center Frank Ragnow out of retirement late last season, but he didn't play a snap for them because he didn't pass his physical. He had a Grade 3 hamstring strain! Turns out, he had to pay back part of his signing bonus. The Lions claim that they've made other players do this before, like Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson, so the precedent has been set. Really? Come on, Fords. You guys aren't low on cash. Let the man keep his money.
After that, George Paton spoke at the NFL Owners meeting yesterday and said he likes the RB room. Of course he's going to say that. But, we're not sure we like it as much as he does! There's still plenty of room for improvement.

The New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns were given the market rights for Vic's Motherland.

0:00 - Man, the Avs took care of business yesterday! They SMASHED Calgary 9-2 at Ball Arena. That's what good teams are supposed to do to bad teams (take note, Nuggets). The only bummer was Cale Makar leaving the game with an "upper body injury." Hopefully it's precautionary and nothing more.

15:41 - George Paton and Greg Penner both addressed the media at the NFL Owners Meetings yesterday. They were asked about everything from Bo's ankle to JK Dobbins to Jaylen Waddle. How does the Broncos Braintrust feel about their roster?

34:04 - Radko Gudas of the Anaheim Ducks laid a dirty hit on Auston Matthews a few weeks ago and it ended his season. The Ducks played the Maple Leafs again last night, and Gudas played specifically so he could serve his pennance. Opening puck drop, Max Domi dropped the gloves and whooped Gudas left, right, and center. But it begs the question...why didn't anyone from Toronto fight Gudas THE NIGHT THAT HE HIT MATTHEWS? Why did no one defend their TEAM CAPTAIN?
Players have to stick up for their teammates. It's the same reason that Vic wants someone to lay a HARD hit on Lu Dort to set the precedent. You mess with the Jokic, you get the horns.

0:00 - The Nuggets are in the thick of a 6-game win streak. They've been playing some bad and/or injured teams, but 6 wins in a row is still 6 wins in a row. How good are the Nuggets right now? Are they a championship team finally?

14:50 - After UConn's thrilling buzzer-beater victory over Duke, Dan Hurley got up in a ref's face. He didn't yell or scream or anything. But he shot the ref a [blank]eating grin, and then went face to face with him! Damn near touched foreheads. Shouldn't that have been a technical? Why wasn't it called? That could've given the win back to Duke.

After that, Vic has trouble navigating the maze that is Home Depot. Don't we all?
Oh right, SPORTS! The NFL Owners meetings are underway. Robert Kraft fully supports an 18-game NFL schedule with a few stipulations. George Paton met with the media and praised his roster which remains mostly unchanged from last season.

0:00 - Baseball is back! Hope springs eternal! Unless you're a Rockies fan. They started this new season 0-3. Got swept by the Marlins. They lost every game by 1 run. Are there any silver linings? Have we seen ANY signs of progress whatsoever?

15:07 - The Nuggets are on a 6-game win streak, and that's nothing to sneeze at in the NBA. But, it doesn't change the fact that defense is still a problem for the Nuggets. They let the Utah Jazz drop 129 points on them IN BALL ARENA. And oh by the way, Utah is actively trying to lose games. But don't take it from us. Take it from the best basketball player on Planet Earth. 

31:59 - Oh, by the way...Mile High Stadium was POPPIN for the inaugural Denver Summit FC home game. The game itself was a snoozer, but the vibes were immaculate. Oh, by the way...why does Jared Bednar never get any love for Coach of the Year? Oh, by the way...an airplane got stuck on the tarmac, and there just happened to be a high school choir on board. How long could you survive being trapped on a plane with a HS choir?

0:00 - The Nuggets beat the Jazz on Friday, then followed it up with a thrilling win over the Warriors last night. They're now on a 6-game win streak. And yet, Brett still doesn't feel fully comfortable with this team. Is he being unfair? Is he using the wrong tone?

15:18 - Duke lost to UConn on a last-second heave. A heartbreaker backbreaker. Both? Both. The Madness of March never disappoints. Unfortunately, Brett is incredibly torn when it comes to the outcome of that game.

34:26 - The Avs fell to the Jets on Saturday. Not sure what to make of that one. Another weird goalie interference penalty...the guys looked sluggish and Bedsie was shuffling the lines to get something/anything going...Whatever. On the bright side, Moser gave us another BUTTER MY BUTT for Parker Kelly's goal!
After that...Vegas fired their head coach out of nowhere and hired John Tortorella. That's quite the choice by VGK!

Our Moser, Lombardi and Kane Drop Tournament continues today with the Round of 32! But, we're doing things a little differently. All the drops have been sorted into groups of 4. Only one drop will emerge from each group. It's a group stage knockout round. So for those keeping score at home, we're skipping the Sweet 16 and heading straight to the Elite 8, baby.
Yesterday, we worked our way through both the Vic & Moser Regions. Today, we're tackling the Brett & Nelly Regions. Which 4 drops will advance to round out the Elite 8?

But he's not the first athlete to use that name. An NBA HOFer beat him to the punch years ago. Oh, by the way...Brett's sick of Tom Brady. Dude needs to shut his trap (unless he's calling an NFL game).
