Moser, Lombardi and Kane

It's finally time to crown a champion in our 2026 Moser, Lombardi and Kane Drop Tournament. Who will cut down the nets once and for all? Will it be Mary and her little clam? Or will it be Moser cheerleading like Bill Belichick's girlfriend?
And as is tradition, we need to look back on all 64 drops who competed for eternal glory in our One Shining Moment. Thanks for another successful tournament, everyone.

0:00 - Jokic's shot over Wemby to bury the Spurs was epic. SportsCenter Top 10-type shot. MVP-type shot. But what was also encouraging from that game was how the WHOLE team played. They got contributions from the entire roster, top to bottom. Whatever slump Cam Johnson was in is OVA. They're proving they can win all sorts of games in different ways.

14:53 - The Avs play differently in front of Wedgewood. They keep hanging Blackwood out to dry on the breakaway. Wedgie is absolutely Goalie #1 in the playoffs.
After that, the Nuggets are hosting the Blazers tonight. The Blazers are...not good. That #3 seed in the West is squarely in sight, now that BOTH Luka and Austin Reaves are injured. Tonight's game is a must-win for the Nuggets. What are the keys to a victory?

0:00 - To be the man, you gotta beat the man. Wemby can't beat the man. We've known it all season long, but Saturday's performance solidified it for us. Jokic is the NBA MVP. It's not Luka. It's not Wemby. It's not Floppy Foul-Bait McGee. It's Nikola Jokic. But, realistically, do we care? Is it worth investing any energy in the MVP conversation?

After that, the Avs have all but won the Central. Their victory over Dallas on Saturday was the final piece of the puzzle (technically, they haven't locked it up but come on...they locked it up). Assuming the Avs are the 1 seed, who would their first round opponent be? What are some possible scenarios?

32:04 - Oh, by the way...the Final Four TV broadcast was a carvinal. Why did we have Will Forte doing a goofy bit and the Chainsmokers performing during the friggin Final Four? Oh, by the way...a baby was born this weekend during an Oilers game. At the arena. Yes, a woman actually brought a child into this world inside the Edmonton Oilers arena. Oh, by the way...Bucci argued that Zach Werenski should win the Norris Trophy...because of how he played in the Olympics??

0:00 - It all came down to Jokic vs Wemby. MVP on MVP. And Jokic sunk an impossible fadeaway dagger right in Wemby's face. Wemby's like 10 feet tall, and Jokic launched a ball OVER his head. With a hand in his face. While falling backwards. Ballgame. Unbelievable. The Nuggets needed that win in the worst way and they got it. And oh, by the way, just give Jokic the damn MVP already.

16:12 - We don't care about yesterday's Avs loss to the Blues. Whatever. On Saturday, they needed a win over Dallas and they got it. The Central is done. Your Avs wrapped it up. Not officially, but I mean...it's over. 

32:52 - How 'bout those crazy home run robberies by Jo Adell? Three in one game! And they were legit ROBBERIES. All of them.
After that, the National Championship game is tonight! UConn vs Michigan for a chance to cut down the nets. We're all rooting for Michigan right? Because we can't stomach seeing Dan Hurley win a 3rd title, right? We're all on the same page?
But more importantly...it's the national championship of OUR ML&K DROP TOURNAMENT! Mary Had a Little Clam vs Moser Cheerleading Like Belichick's Girlfriend for all the marbles.

It's the next stage of our Moser, Lombardi and Kane drop tournament! We're onto the Elite 8 today BUT with a twist. We're doing a knockout round. 2 groups of 4 drops. Only 1 drop will emerge victorious from each side of the bracket to advance to the National Championship on Monday! Who will it be? Will the only remaining 1 seed make it to the Natty?

16:56 - It's an incredibly important Double Dip-a-Roo on Saturday for our Avs and Nuggets. If the Avs beat the Stars, the Central is all but locked up. If the Nuggets beat the Spurs, the 3 seed becomes a real possibility in the wake of Luka's injury. The Lakers don't have a chokehold on it anymore. 
After that, Royals Catcher Carter Jensen overslept and was late for a game. He made it before first pitch, but he was scratched from the lineup. Italian baseball hero Vinnie Pasquantino had some blunt comments about his rookie teammate after the game. 

33:55 - Who survived the brutal Elite 8 Group Stage Knockout round in our Drop Tournament? Which 2 drops will fight to the death on Monday in our National Championship game?
After that, it's our favorite part of the week DRUNK TAKES! We take clips from throughout the week, slow em down to half speed and it makes us sound like we're hammered.

0:00 - Sean Payton did something at the NFL Owners Meetings that he hasn't done in a while. He got snarky with the media! We haven't seen Snarky Sean vs Reporters in a long time! It's like reconnecting with an old friend.
Also, LeBron hung out with some golf YouTubers (since he's into golf YouTubers now) and absolutely ripped the city of Memphis. He said the Grizzlies should be relocated to Nashville. Turns out, he's not the only NBA player who feels that way.

14:33 - Luka Doncic went down with an apparent hamstring injury yesterday. We thought the NBA Western Conference playoff picture was pretty much set in stone. Well that's DEFINITELY not the case anymore. Are the Lakers actually a desireable playoff opponent if they don't have Luka in the lineup?

33:15 - Oh, by the way...how does Luka's injury affect the NBA championship betting odds? Oh, by the way...Tom Brady lied to us about his diet. AGAIN. Oh, by the way...a minor league baseball team is going to play a game inside an abandoned prison?

15:22 - We get it. It's a long season. The Avs looked disinterested last night. They couldn't get excited about playing the worst team in the league. But the job's not finished. They're not locked into a playoff seed yet. Seeding still matters. They HAVE to care about these last few games. They can't lose interest. Focus up, boys. Let's go.

After that, the NFL released new data that might explain an uptick in concussions last year. And it makes no sense. Feels like a total red herring.

15:39 - There are no positive takeaways from last night's Avs game. Even with that killer 3rd period and thrilling comeback. Nope. Nothing good about last night when you're this late in the season. Avs head coach Jared Bednar said it himself postgame. 

31:41 - Oh, by the way...a collegiate softball game got interrupted by the Artemis II launch yesterday. So the players asked the umpire to stop the game so they could watch the rocket. Absolutely the right thing to do. Oh, by the way...the NFL referees are making some ridiculous demands. Oh, by the way...one of the Mix 100 morning show hosts has a problem with everyone in the building referring to Coach Sanford as "Coach" all the time. In the workplace. Where he's not coaching.
