0:00 - The Avalanche took care of business last night and locked up the Central's top spot! Nazem Kadri got hurt, but Coach Bednar made it seem like it's not serious. Scott Wedgewood also got banged up from a collision in the net, but he's fine. Postgame, he told Moser and Ryker that he got the wind knocked out of him. That's all.
Have you ever have the wind knocked out of you? That's probably happened to everyone at some point, right? No matter how many times it happens, you never get used to that feeling.

13:42 - Oh, by the way...we got an ACTUAL brawl in an MLB game yesterday. Like, REAL punches, tackles, you name it. Oh, by the way...Michael Malone addressed the media yesterday for the first time as the head coach of North Carolina hoops.

28:16 - Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar joined us this morning! We let him sleep in a little bit, but he still had to wake up and talk to us, unfortunately. Does Coach have an update on Kadri? Paul DePodesta, President of Baseball Operations for the Rockies, chatted with PHD yesterday. And he's saying things that Brett's wanted to hear for YEARS from someone in the Front Office. He's shifting the mindset and attitude of the team.
The Avalanche can't face the Wild or the Stars in the first round because those 2 teams will face each other. So, who DO we want to see the Avs face?

First of all, the Nuggets snatched the 3 seed from the Lakers, since LA is struggling wihtout Luka and Austin Reaves right now. Second of all, the Memphis Grizzlies are resting EVERYONE today. They'll barely bring a roster of warm bodies to Ball Arena tonight. Losing to this G-League Grizzlies team tonight is inexcusable. Take care of business, strike while the iron's hot, and inch closer to stealing the 3 seed from the LakeShow for good.

0:00 - It hasn't been a pretty win streak to say the least. But the Nuggets have won 9 GAMES IN A ROW! Count em! For months, we've said we won't believe this Nuggets squad can win a title until they prove otherwise. Have they proven anything during this winning streak?

32:08 - SERIOUSLY, Vic does NOT care about space travel! Back to sports...North Carolina hired Michael Malone to coach their basketball squad. We think this will be a great fit in the portal era. Malone always wanted rosters full of veterans that are ready to roll. That's what the portal brings! Open up the checkbook and let's ride.

0:00 - Guess what?? The Rockies don't suck! They're not winning a World Series this year but they're not incredibly horrible! That's a win. You'll take that every time. Aside from a couple bad innings here and there, they've been incrementally better this year. And that's all you can ask for.
After that, Avs PLEASE just win one more game. Beat the Blues tonight, then sit Makar, MacKinnon, Landy, Necas, etc until the playoffs. Bubble wrap your big dogs and get ready for Lord Stanley.

14:18 - Congrats to Michigan! They won the Natty yesterday and prevented Dan Hurley from cutting down a 3rd net. But something about the new NIL/Portal landscape of college sports in general is a mystery to Vic. Simply put...why do these big donors give a ton of money to the sports porgrams at all these schools? Ultimately, what's the point?

34:27 - Oh, by the way...there's an 81-year-old Dodgers fan. Season ticket holder for 50 years. Doesn't own a smartphone. Doesn't know technology. The Dodgers just announced they don't print physical tickets anymore. They're only digital. What's this guy supposed to do? Oh, by the way...the Las Vegas Aces did their best impression of Kawhi Leonard and his Tree Farm, and the WNBA is investigating. Oh, by the way...in 1919, a Yankees outfielder battled an Ostrich in an eating contest and won.

0:00 - They never should've been down by 18 points at home against the lowly Trailblazers in the first place BUT what a comeback by the Nuggets! Man that was awesome. They've now won 9 in a row. And yet...Brett still doesn't know how to make heads or tails of this team. It feels like the Broncos all over again. They're winning but is it sustainable? There's that good ol' sustainable word again.

14:57 - The Avs have lost to a few bad teams recently, but they're still in a good spot. They still win the games they need to win. Tonight is one of those. Go to St. Louis, get a W, wrap up the top spot in the Central, and cruise into the playoffs.
After that, Bill Kennedy is our favorite NBA ref now. He loves adding a lil mustard to his calls whenever he hops on the mic after a review.

32:30 - North Carolina just hired Michael Malone to be their next head basketball coach. That's an interesting move, to say the least. Malone absolutely could've and should've gotten another NBA coaching gig. He won a title. And yet, he ended up in college. That being said, he's the perfect coach for the portal era.
