It's an adventure on the high seas for Alamin's wizarding apprentices, Kay and Jerra, but it's definitely not a pleasure cruise. Only the Ring of Carnac holds the key to stopping Krellia and her pirate and goblin minions. Unfortunately, the ring has been missing for hundreds of years, and the one person who may hold the clue to the ring's whereabouts an odd, reclusive wizard who lives on an island far to the south. Alamin promises to protect his young apprentices on their journey, but, when Kay and Jerra become prisoners aboard a pirate ship where magic doesn't work, their adventure seems like it will end before it has hardly begun!

Entertaining read for fantasy lovers of all ages
I'll admit that fantasy with goblins and wizards is not my usual choice for reading material, but since I had read the previous book in this series (The Road to Nyn), I decided to give this one a chance. I would say that this book is geared toward the middle-grade reader, but it is still entertaining for adults as well. In fact, any fantasy-lover will enjoy the world of Gaspar. I listened to the Audible audio edition narrated by Fred Wolinsky. Though Wolinsky is not my favorite narrator (due to a strange cadence in his "narrator" voice), he is still very gifted at created unique voices for each of his characters. I'm rather impressed by the range of voices he can do. Overall, a fun and entertaining read for all-ages-fantasy-genre-lovers.
    Awesome friends
Kay, Jerra, and all of their friends are back as they must stop the mean witch from setting lose the fire elemental and destroying everything. But they need the ring to stop her the only problem is it has been lost for hundreds of years and the clock is ticking, will a obscure clue from one of Alimin's crazy wizard friends help them?
To say that this book has non stop action is not enough to do it justice, the action really never ends in this book and the suspense at times you can cut with a knife. I had the audio narrated by Fred Wolinsky and he sucks you in to the world and brings you along as part of the team, and at times you really wish you could help them in their quest. Mr. Wolinsky's voices for each of the character is awesome and you will come to love each and every one of them as friends they will become.
    Great Family Fantasy
Having listened to the first book in the series, I was looking forward to listening to this book as well. A lot of times the second book in a series drops in quality, but not this time! This book was just as good as the first one! I don't feel like you need to read the first book before this one, but I highly recommend it. It has a lot of back story that will help you get into this one easier.
This book is mostly geared towards younger children, but I highly recommend it for the whole family. If you are planning on taking a road trip with the whole family, this would be a great story to listen to! Brian's writing style can appeal to most age groups, it's light and funny at times.

    Fantastic !
Sweet Honey is absolutely amazing !! I love to read Cathy's books, if i have problems in my life that i don't want to dwell on all the time then i can dive into Cathy's books and completely forget about it cause your so wrapped up in the character's drama that you don't even think about yours ! It's like escaping into a whole different world full of people you yet have to learn about and sometimes i hear the characters talking when i read the words, yeah that's a bit weird... meh i love reading all the same ! I advise you to defenitley read Cathy's books, all of them i find are so amazing ! I just can't describe it and it's even better with music because there's all types of emotions that people sing about: sadness, anger, stress, happiness, and depression. You can match these emotions with what the story is about or what the charater's are going through, well that's what i like to do !
My sister and I loved this book
Honey Tanberry is such a strong, rebellious character. Unlike every other character, she is habitually off the rails, but you can always admire how sure of herself she is. She is rebellious and moody and totally crazy some of the time, but she's also bright and brave. Seeing her on the inside, and seeing how hard she's tried with everything, it's easier to understand her. It doesn't take away from her strength, but it makes her more relatable.
My sister and I loved this book. It was amazing to see Honey and understand her. My favorite part about her was definitely just seeing how she really feels about her little sisters, Skye, Summer, and Coco. She's so caring and she tries so hard. She really does just want them to be happy, and it was amazing to see her.
Great to finally see the story from Honey's point of view.
It was nicely to finally get to know Honey, as she has caused so much trouble in the previous books and has been so elusive and guarded. We finally get to see her as herself with all her insecurities and doubts. Cassidy's writing is great and her characters are well developed and easy to relate to. And I love the twist at the end ;) ;) 5 Stars.
    Five Stars
I thought Honey was mean and reckless but she really is just a lonely, broken girl...

    My daughter loved it!

    Classic
The classic story of Chingachgook and Uncas, Last of the Mohicans brings the story alive, with great narrative, character development and insights - though culturally and time limited - into the relationships between First Nations and the British and French at the time of the French and Indian War. A classic.
My 9 year old couldn't stop reading. We did ...
My 9 year old couldn't stop reading. We did a lot of research trying to get a copy that was going to be worthwhile and this exceeded our expectations.
    Nice edition for young readers.
Very fine edition for young readers. Very well illustrated in hardbound. No dust jacket but a kid would probably just tear it anyway. All in all a very good way to introduce young readers to this classic.
    Classic read
Cooper's tale of 1757 is not only a classic it is also a great description of that period of American history which defined the course of the nation.
    I loved it then
I last read "Last of the Mohicans" when I was six years old. I loved it then, and I got to love it again. It is window into a segment of US history that helped define our nation, minus the spin.

    Great Adventure
It was not comedy though it was funny. It was not sappy though it had drama. Totally, unexpected ending that will break your heart.

    Members Reviews:
~~ Life is just about to become EXTRA-ORDINARY for 13 year old Boone Tackett! ~~
With a detailed introduction of the characters at the beginning, this book does have a rather slow start HOWEVER we persevered and are very glad we did. Keep reading folks, it is worth it!
Boone Tackett, 13, lives a very ordinary life. He's a bored teenager who has been a member of the Great Crossing Baptist Church since his conception! Thinks he has all the answers. His best friends are a girl named Noel along with boys, Wayne and Case. Part of youth group yet spends most of his time zoned out until one Sunday morning. A red light touches his hand and then goes to the stained glass windows, resting on a Bible. Is anyone else seeing what he is seeing?
"To him that worketh not" - words that he has never seen before. Definitely not ordinary!
Who is the strange man in school assembly? Is Boone going mad? Mishpachah (Mish - pa - ca)? Legend or real? What does the beehive stand for? What happens when Boone and Noel find a hidden library? What is that sound of rushing water? Can the two of them convince Wayne and Case that something is truly going on? Will they join them?
SO with that little taster let me further inform you that you need to suspend all sense of reality whilst reading this book. This is a Christian fantasy fictional story. At one point it was truly too unrealistic when Boone had hurt his ankle but still managed to walk miles. The lessons behind the story are excellent though and truly point kids to the danger of only thinking about themselves. You know what I am talking about - the ME mentality!
How's the writing? Okay but definitely not the best. There are some editing errors two of which are the use of the word "breath" rather than "breathe" and "shown" instead of "shone" which really irked me. HOWEVER we read this as a read aloud and it was not off-putting enough for me to put the book down. We are very much looking forward to Book 2 in the trilogy. Yes, the ending is set up for you to want to read the next one. I downloaded this book onto my Kindle. I was not required to write a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz
Terrific book for ages young and old alike
I found out about this book a few days ago as the author was doing a book signing event at a fair I worked in Lebanon. Upon reading the description of the book, my interest was piqued in a way that reminded me of the many imagined adventures I had as a youth and I immediately bought it on Kindle using my smart phone.

The mansion has plenty of stories, too, about fantastical machines and the tragic inventor who created them. About his highly suspicious death. And about the Monster Box, a mysterious object hidden in the house that just might hold the key to escaping this horrible place - and to reuniting Sophie with her family. 11 Year Old Daughter LOVES This Book!
My 11 year old just finished reading The Bone Snatcher and has been talking nonstop about how wonderful it is. She loves the stories inside the story, she adores the heroine, she's fascinated by the world, and is so eager for the next book to come out she can hardly stand it. Great job knocking this one out of the park with your debut, Charlotte Salter - you've got a fan for life with my oldest. (In fact her enthusiasm has convinced the entire household to read it, so we got it on audible too) :)
... daughter over the last week and it was a fantastic story that I even found hard to put down
I read this to my 7 year old daughter over the last week and it was a fantastic story that I even found hard to put down. The enchanted sea, haunting charcters, and twisting plot kept us both reading for hours. Highly recommend!
    Kid Approved
My 11 yo daughter really loved the book. She read a trio of books this week (Wildwood, The Girl Who Drank the Moon, and Bone Snatcher) and Bone Snatcher was her favorite. She thought the mystery of the book was fun and intrigueing.
Atmospheric and Edgy...but In a Good Way
There's definitely the atmosphere of Neil Gaiman in here, and it's much edgier than a typical middle grade novel, which as an adult reader I appreciate and I think kids will too. Great writing, great characters, great book overall!
... 11 year old daughter (who hates to read) absolutely loved this book
My 11 year old daughter (who hates to read) absolutely loved this book. As soon as she finished it she gave it to me to read and is insisting I read it too! It must be good since my cynical daughter is so pleased.
