Interesting Story... Not good male narration!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Could not finish going through the whole book, managed to get until chapter 4. The story was enjoyable, but the male narrator was not a good choice for this book, plus it always was like it was recorded in an empty bowl. :S

Would you be willing to try another book from Charlotte Byrd? Why or why not?

I was going over her other books, but then again the narration is not making it easy.

How could the performance have been better?

The girl was OK, but the guy was just not the right fit for the book.

So so

The male Narrator isn't the best. Either he has an accent he is trying to cover up or speech problem. He is no York that's for sure. The story isn't great either

Male Narration is Awful!!

I am disappointed in the male narrator. He sounds like he is just reading a book. I could only get to chapter 3. I then skipped to the next chapter to hear the female narrator, she was fine. I will be returning this book.

Members Reviews:

Perfect timing.

This story was so beautiful to me. I totally felt the love between these two people and it was a feeling everyone should experience. Of course the heartache of an unexplained ten year separation is difficult to get over, but when you've loved someone the majority of your life, it doesn't just fade away. Forrest and Claire put their love to the test in this book. Broken hearts, death, lies, fear, uncertainty...all of it surrounded this couple. One is trying to pull it all back together while the other is pushing away. Watching this battle of the hearts was hard, and it was gritty, but in the end it was well worth it and I loved every minute of it. Fantastic job Mika, please keep the stories coming, I'll be waiting.

Story of second chances and ultimate forgiveness

Tattooed Hearts is an endearing story full of second changes, redemption, and forgiveness. It portrays betrayal that will require characters to forgive lies that were given to them their entire life. It is also about what you think you know may be different than reality.

The main characters, Forrest and Claire, were well developed characters. Each portrayed traits that gave the book so much depth. Their weaknesses and strengths showed throughout the story line helped make the plot rich and as a reader it was easy to follow the flow as well as keep your attention.

I would recommend at some point you read the other books in the series. Each book characters are seen again in Tattooed Hearts. I will be going back and reading previous books so I can gain the understanding on how each couple came to be. The struggles of the couples seen in each book would make you understand the relationship by the time you get to Tattooed Hearts.

I highly recommend this series to lovers of romance. Also, Tattooed Hearts carries a theme of differences that a character felt as an African-American/Asian child that mother's job is to maintain a home, and the family she lives with. It is just light as not to overwhelm the reader. I loved how this was written.

Well, done!!!

Tattooed Hearts 2

There was so much happening in this book, that to just write about Claire and Forrest isn't fair. I gave it a rating of five. This is the first book that took me a long time to read. I did enjoy the two main characters, thought it took forever for him to realize he still loved her.

Members Reviews:

Fantastic Series!

What did you love best about Rastor?

I love Lawton's perspective! And being able to read/listen to his perspective gives me a different side of Lawton, that Connor helps with as well narrating this book. Lawton seems more down to earth, not this unreachable meat head that is full of himself.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lawton of course! How dedicated he is, laid back, and realistic. His instincts are very attractive as well, he can read people, even the fake ones.

What about Connor Browns performance did you like?

Connor did amazing! His voice was the PERFECT pick for Lawton, he brought Lawton to life, I found myself just sitting here listening and forgetting the task I was doing. He made Lawton more approachable, and more down to earth.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, most definitely! I actually enjoyed listening to Lawton's perspective a lot more than Chloe's. Getting a different side of Bishop as well, and his relationship with Lawton. And what they do behind the scenes that we were all curious about in the unbelonging/rebelonging series.

Any additional comments?

Awesome work, Sabrina and Connor! You both made this series even better! Definitely my top favorite, and will for sure be added to my paperback collection as well!

Thanksgiving is Everything!

Rastor is the conclusion of Lawton & Chloe's story. While I loved Unbelonging and Rebelonging, I always thought to myself "I wonder what Lawton was thinking!" Thankfully, Sabrina Stark is apparently a mind reader, so she published Lawton and Rastor, which give us Lawton's POV for the events we read about in Unbelonging and Rebelonging, as well as just a little bit more.

Without giving away too much, Thanksgiving dinner is a major plot event in the 1st 2 books. Hearing what was happening from Lawton's POV is everything. I was pretty sure I was in love with Lawton Rastor before, but Thanksgiving made him swoon-worthy! You don't have to have read Unbelonging and Rebelonging to love Lawton and Rastor, but getting the whole picture is very much worth it.

Again, this relatively unknown narrator really worked for me. I hope he gets more work from these books.

I am a notorious re-reader (re-listener). Even before the audiobooks came out, I re-read both Lawton and Rastor a couple of times. I enjoyed the story so much that I ended up having to re-read Illegal Fortunes as well because I wanted to catch up with Bishop :)

Definitely worth the credit....

I would definitely Put this in my top ten of the books I have listened to this year!

Title: Dirty Lies

Author: Emma Hart

Narrator: Iggy Toma, Lidia Dornet

Format: Unabridged

Length: 8 hrs and 14 mins

Language: English

Release date: 04-12-16

Publisher: Tantor Audio

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 49 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

Aidan Burke is the perfect rebound guy for Jessie Law after she catches her asshole ex-boyfriend with his hands down some other girl's pants. When she meets the world-famous drummer of Dirty B on a night out, she takes him up on his simple proposal: one night of fun, hot sex with zero expectations. But soon Dirty B's tour is over, and they're back in South Carolina - which means running into Aidan more often than Jessie would like.

When Aidan saves Jessie from her ex-boyfriend by insisting that the two are dating, the band's manager convinces them to keep up the charade in the hopes of reinventing Dirty B's image as lovable bad boys as opposed to d-bags. Now all Aidan and Jessie have to do is put on a very obvious, very public show to convince everyone that their affection is real. Unfortunately, Aidan's hordes of jealous fans have no problem bombarding Jessie with threatening messages online - and worse. And things only get more complicated when Jessie realizes that her feelings for Aidan may not be so fake after all.

Contains mature themes.

Members Reviews:

Jessie gives new meaning to the phrase "fiery redhead"!!

I've been looking forward to Aiden Burke's book since I finished Dirty Past a few months ago. The wait was definitely worth it.

We get to experience again all my favorites from both previous books, including the firecracker known as Mila, but we're introduced to Jessie's sister Saskia. And like most 16 year old girls is a total fangirl for not only Dirty B, but Aiden in particular.

"My sister is pinned against the window, face squished against the cold glass and her hands flattened against it. I bet she looks like Chewbacca or something from the outside."

We also get to live again the totally freakish way the identical twins Aiden and Kye talk at the same time,

"That speaking at once thing is creepy. Donât ever do that again.ââCanât help it,â Kye replies . â One of those things.â

We finally learn how to tell them apart. And I love the attention to this detail Emma has given us.

This book picks up pretty much where Book 2 ended with Dirty B home on a break from their recent tour. In this book we're introduced to Jessie Law a girl who grew up with Aiden and his brothers. And let me tell you, there's no love loss between our H/h all stemming from a childhood incident. Which when I read it made me laugh out loud in the way Jessie described what happened and how she still holds a grudge against Aiden!

For reasons that are explained in the first couple of chapters Ads and Jessie come together as a couple to serve a couple of purposes somewhat reluctantly on Jessie's side. Needless to say the phrase "let the games begin" is very appropriate.

âI said it before , and Iâll say it again. You looked like you were about to lose your s***, and my hero complex kicked in. I canât help beinâ this alpha.â

I absolutely swooned as we move through the story and Aiden starts to feel more for Jessie than he wanted to.

Members Reviews:

Unraveled

What made the experience of listening to Unraveled the most enjoyable?

The story.

Unraveled tells the story of Samantha Anderson and Sgt. Gray Phillips.

I was curious to see how Jen Frederick would write a believable love story between a young widow and a "soldier" who was burned by love (his longtime girlfriend cheated on him while he was deployed).

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the relationship between Samantha and Gray. It started as instant lust and soon developed .

I liked seeing things from Sam's perspective, the regrets she held at not joying her late husband, at her life as a young widow and her struggle to be so much more.

Gray was a great hero. After the initial misunderstanding and awkward night that didn't end with sex, his and Sam's connection grew.

Have you listened to any of Stella Bloom and Andrew Eiden s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The story was great and the narration added to the enjoyment of the book.

I liked both Stella and Andrew's narrations.

I usually prefer a female narrator, but Andrew did a wonderful job narrating not only Gray but also Sam.

Also, this being a Romance, kudos for Andrew for narrating Gray's dirty talk in a sexy way.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The various relationships and growth each character goes through.

Sam needed to move on, she was more than a young widow, more than the last connection to her late husband.

I loved seeing her take chances, not only with love, but also by going out of her comfort zone and trying new things.

I loved seeing Gray change and find room in his life for a new relationship.

He was fearless in the field and a fierce protector.

I loved reading about his concerns about extending his duty and about being responsible to the well being of the Marines under his command.

Unraveled wasn't the typical story were the hero was a warrior ready to do battle. It also wasn't the typical story about the woman being left behind.

Sam did that once and wasn't going to make that mistake again.

Members Reviews:

Boring story line - zero romance - poor narration

I struggled to finish. Boring police detective murder story line that was not well developed to the point where I did not care "who did it" just meh! Tragically the romance of the story lacked even less luster-I felt zero connection with H/h and could have cared less at the finish it was so simplistic and meaningless - these two had no chemistry and no character development. To add to the overwhelming nothingness this listen provided was a poorly executed narration, male voices all sounded like women and the women all sounded alike with exception of a few differences. Don't waste a credit
