Im more of a POV type of listener but Gina makes it wotks very well for her story. I love the connection between the best friends, one conservative, the other a bit wild driving the realtionship and story. overall, I cant beg for my lost time on this book but, Ive been ruined by the major alpha males in Meghan March stories. I will definitely read this series.
I CANNOT Express How Much I Love Modern Girl's
Julia is having a rough time. After finding her fiancé in a compromising position, she is floundering and doesn't really know how to move on. It's a good thing she's got a friend like Meg. While attending a function, Meg encourages Julia to pick up a man for a one night stand. Julia is appalled with the idea, but as she is people watching a very handsome and funny man approaches her. For the next little while they sit at the bar and make up stories about the people they observe.
Shy Julia is drawn to the hot and sexy, Simon. She invites him back to her room! He accepts and as they make their way to their her room he wants to make sure he is understanding the signals that she seems to be sending. He bluntly asks, if by inviting him to her room does she intend to have sex with him? Julie surprises herself with a yes!
The night is filled with passion, however when Simon wakes up in the morning, he finds that he is all alone. No note, phone number or explanation. But what does he expect from a one night stand?
Julia is feeling a lot better about her broken engagement, especially after the evening she had before. Perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel
While she never expects that she will see this man again, he is on her mind constantly including her dreams.
She does feel better after her one night stand with this Simon . It is time to move on A lot of time passes but she is clinging to the memory of her in one night with Simon.
They soon cross paths again in a really awkward and uncomfortable position. Do they pretend they don't know one another? Do they pursue the relationship? Are they even going to make it through the long weekend?
The journey of Simon and Julia is packed with passion, action, hurt, friendships, vulnerability, strength and of course the insensitive and tone deaf former fiancé.
I love these books. They are the ultimate in contemporary romance! A good story with some spice in the boudoir and out. :-)
