A VERY ENJOYABLE, FANTASTICAL & FICTIONAL ROM/COM

What a joy this listen was.... it was funny, frustrating, romantic and oh so sweet when Blake, the drool-worthy business tycoon, decides it's time to find a wife and treats it like just another business deal. So, with cold logic, he makes a list of his wants, needs and expectations and nowhere on that list are any emotional requirements..... especially that of love. Because he is far too focussed on his business he just hasn't got the time to spare, or the inclinations to actually find a potential wife for himself, so instead he seeks the help of a Match Maker. And, little does Blake know, but that decision was actually going to be, without a doubt, the best one he'd ever had.

The usually feisty and talented Andrea was jobless, homeless and penniless and was living with her Sister but her Sister had had enough of her mooning around so arranges a job interview, a job that was going to test Andrea's patience, infuriate and frustrate her, make her shout and throw things and eventually push her to her limits. But it was also going to be rewarding in ways that she could never have imagined and end, as all good fairy tales do, with a HEA ending.

What a fun listen this was and, as their relationship slowly unravels, I wasn't expecting the laugh out loud moments, the explosive combustible chemistry, the misunderstandings and miscommunications, the deliciously slow build-up to the inevitable sex scene/s and the heartbreak and passion-filled pleas as their well-written romance hiccups then comes to an end. But I would have loved their story to have continued and been wrapped-up in a 'three years later' type of Epilogue (greedy I know I know already).

Worth a credit? Told from dual POV's, good narration, a lot of fun-filled angst together with a bit of drama and a love story that was inhabited by characters that I'll be sad to leave behind. So, IMO, if you're looking for a light, contemporary romance that'll make you smile and is pure indulgent escapism at its finest..... then you've just found your book because this is a very entertaining, enjoyable and rewarding listen that's definitely worth a credit.

Nice Story. Dodgy Narration.

While the narrator, Randy Fuller does voices well, I had to give this performance 2.5 stars because of his random and poor attempts at an Australian accent. While it wasn't often enough to make listening a chore, it was a bit distracting.

The story itself is straightforward and sweet. Although the MCs have horrible pasts that could have introduced A LOT of reasonable angst into their personalities, both men are pretty upbeat and trying to live simple, happy lives without their demons dictating their future.

What did you like best about Safe in His Arms? What did you like least?

I loved the main side characters Devon, Ash, and Paul. I didn't particularly like the huge age difference (its just not my preference).

If youve listened to books by Renae Kaye before, how does this one compare?

Renae Kaye is one of my favorite authors of this genre. The Blinding Light by her is one of my all time favorite romance novels. Both Shawn's Law and Loving Jay are amazing as well. I would recommend those three before this one.

Did Randy Fuller do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Not really, they all sounded about the same to me, or at least they all blurred together. I wasn't a fan of the narrator's voice in general, but I do think his voice was a good fit for the story.

The audio book is wonderfully narrated by Randy Fuller and, while he does an excellent job, please note that he's very American sounding accent-wise.

*sighs* I just don't understand why they can't get a good Aussie narrator.

I'll admit the cover totally pulled me in. Because, I mean, look at it! That cover model is absolutely mouth watering. So I probably would have bought it regardless of author or storyline, but then it turned out to be the same author of The Shearing Gun, which I LOVED, so this was a no brainer for me.

Bottom line: Renae Kaye writes another entertaining, quick, low angst (especially considering some of the storyline) page turner.

This is the love story of Lon and Casey, who both have absolutely horrific pasts (and make no mistake, there's a lot of damage for both Lon and Casey), but have managed to overcome what's happened to them and are now determined to be happy together.

I really enjoyed this one. If it was up to me I would demand that you get this series. Hey I take a lot of pride in what I listen to and recommend. I am not going to gas any of my followers up to give a bad book a good review. If I say it's worth a listen give it a try

Slow and repetitive

I enoyed the story, but getting there was difficult. It lacked dialogue between characters. Most of the story is told by thoughts. I found myself drifting while listening, which rarely happens. The story is there, I liked the concept, just not the execution.

This book is so all over the place. The characters decisions don't make much sense. It goes on and on and on in some parts. Then other parts are too short. The quick split second decisions are so unpredictable. The amarok mystical advice makes you want to bang your head against a wall. Because you know the character is taking it the wrong way. The whole book makes you want to scream.

Disappointing

I find it unbelievable that an Ivy League educated lawyer would tolerate a man beating her for two years and then not take the winnable case to court to make sure the man doesn't beat another woman. Every fourth word seemed to be the F word. Narrator did a great job with a bad story.

It was painful to finish!

Utterly thin plot, subpar writing and terrible acting. I kept listening with hopes it would get better but I was terribly disappointed!

Fabulous narration

This was my first from both of them. While I wasn't all the impressed with the story, it was fair. The characters were well done. Even though the story itself was not. Jack Garrett did a fabulous job on the narration. I will definitely look for more from him.

Fun Sweet Story & Great Narration!

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were realistic and flawed and very likable. Joss is a strong independent snarky women which I loved and Derek is a laid back, slightly snarky ex-SEAL. How could you go wrong with that match! The story was a little more PG that I usually like. The only negative thing I can say is it was too short. I would have loved the end of the story in detail instead of a quick run down of how things turned out.

Narration was AWESOME!!! I really couldn't stop comparing Sarah Beth Goer to Amanda Ronconi and that is a huge compliment IMHO.

Single Mum Needs to Show 'Stability'..Marry a SEAL

This is the first book that I have listened to from KS Thomas. I was not able to shut it off. It was five hours of just the right mix. It has romance, danger, mystery and suspense I cannot think of anything it was missing.

While it is a bit fantastic for the main character (Joss Kelley) to marry the first person she can find in order to keep custody of her son, it is fun and the eclectic household is humorous, as well. It was a little bit of real life along with a little bit of swooning behavior without getting too silly.

Sarah Beth Goer performance was great. She is a solid performer and I will look for her narration in this genre in the future.

A few warnings, while things don't get too descriptive, there is a bit of mature content. There was also some strong language and a violent scene or two.

Narration - Sarah Beth Goer - Pretty good. I liked her Character voices. This book is written in dual POV and I did sometimes got confused during Derek's chapters because, while she does a good male voice for Derek, she reads his POV in the same voice as she does Joss's. So I was listening to his thoughts but in what I perceived as Joss's voice.

A sweet & pleasant book

This is not Linda Bylers best books. However, the story is sweet and easy to listen to. The conversations are consistently shallow. Nevertheless, I enjoyed having the lightness of the book give me a real break from the alertness required by more intense books. This is a Christmas story perfect for reading together as a family.

Action Heros, Romance & Side-splitting Laughter

The second book in the series, Shattered Valor was the best! I loved the strength of the characters, their integrity and loyalty. Eden & Ty made a great couple and Tank, Eden's bomb and drug dog was awesome. Don't miss the action and the laughter in this book!

I love the series!

My only complaint is there isn't an audible version for ALL the books. I really like the ongoing/over arching story from book to book, how characters from previous books weave naturally into the new tale. Excellent!

Eric G. Dove's performance was well done as usual. Really enjoy the male voices just the right a amount of masculinity.

So, the second book in the Red Team series and I should mention straight off that this novel doesnt stand alone. You will need to read the first book, The Edge of Courage, to understand what is happening here. If you havent, I can recommend it. Its a great suspense novel and sets up the action and introduces you to a whole host of mouth-watering alpha heroes!

While Ty and Edens story was sweet, I didnt actually feel the same chemistry or connection I did with Mandy and Rocco but thats not enough to stop me from continuing with the series. I definitely will and Im very much looking forward to the next book.

Action/romance

This was a hard read because of what happened in the heros past. I did enjoy the story and interaction between all the characters and look forward to book 4. I am skipping 3 because I don't like Ivy.

An often told story

The two women who use magic on each other. Ho hum. What would have made a good story would've been the magic giving them someone they had never considered.

Loved the creation on the Amethyst power

Superstitions can go a long way. Luck and coincidences are always suprising. Both ladies tried things for the first time and really did not need to. Loved the creation on the Amethyst power. The book makes you decide if the spell worked, or was it just a coincidence. Read and place your own opinion or idea. Can love be magical?

Magic Works (Sometimes)

Interesting story about two women wanting each other. One woman has an amethyst stone which is supposed to attract her friend. The other woman uses a love potion. They have explicit lesbian sex, and at the end they each wonder which spell worked. It's an unusual story written by a woman who knows how to create atmosphere.

Although part of a series, this amazing short story stood alone as completely satisfying...intense descriptions of love making scenes and well executed story line; I thoroughly enjoyed Beverly's Secret! Will certainly recommend and look forward to more from this author.
