I don't play dirty, I play to win.
"The more innocent a girl looks, the wilder she is in bed...and that goes double for Natalie"
I went to see my childhood idol but instead I saw the girl I could never forget. People always say there's always one that got away, and for me that was Natalie. We spent one amazing summer together but then I never saw her again...until now.
"Good girls love bad boys always seemed like such a cliché saying to me."
From the moment I saw him on my doorstep I knew I was his, whether I wanted to be or not. Our time together was sinfully sweet but also short, as we both knew it had to come to an end. Only for me, it was just the beginning, as after Chris left I found out I was pregnant with his child.

Second Chances Contemporary Romance
This was an entertaining story and it gripped my attention from the beginning. It is part of a series but you can read it as a stand alone.
The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life.
Chris was really an immature guy. Specially for how old he was. He acted more like a high schooler than a NFL player. The story also jumped from when they met to about 5 years later.
Natalie was unusually dependent on her father. He was pretty controlling and judgmental. I was shocked at what he did to her. Lying about Chris was so wrong regardless of his intentions.
The story concludes with a HEA which is my type of conclusion! No Cliffhangers here.

Great Football/Sports Romance
Chris Taylor has been released by his professional football team in Florida because of his less than desirable behavior. He has been picked up by team in California, the Tigers, in sort of a probationary position. As he is used to being the star quarterback of the team this does not sit well with him. But, as the author pointed out, as a professional football player he needs to buck up and remember that his life is an open book to the team, the coaches and the public.
Chris decides to look up his football hero and instead meets his 22-year-old daughter, Natalie.
Russell Boyd is very overprotective of his daughter, especially around the likes of such a reprobate as Chris Taylor. When Mr. Boyd finds out that Natalie and Chris have been sneaking around he lets Chris know that in no uncertain terms he will ruin his football career if he ever sees our contacts Natalie again. Natalie only knows that after a special to her night he stops contacting her altogether.
There are couple of twists that I could allude to but I feel that would spoil. They came out of nowhere, for me which is unusual (I can usually see them coming from a mile away) I hope that they surprise other listeners as well.
I usually enjoy Aundrea Mitchell's performances. It really makes it hard to write the following bit of negative feedback. This was the wrong narrator for this book it sounds like she has a Canadian accent and this is about American football. .
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would have given it five stars across the board but for the unfortunate choice of the narrator.
