Turns out, there's no such thing as rape!

If that little bit of dialogue makes your teeth grind, you'll need a full set of dentures by the end. Mandy is every woman who has ever tried to be nice while an oblivious, selfish man tells her how she feels. Sawyer tries to force some ambiguity into Mandy's stark refusals by having her feel attracted to her stalker, while at the same time trying to make Shane's manipulation and threats endearing because he lost his fiance. She fails on both counts.This is the story of an elaborate gaslighting and rape told by someone who doesn't think rape exists, for the following reasons:

- It's not rape if you find the guy attractive.

- It's not rape if you climax.

- It's not rape if he sends you flowers.

- It's not rape if he's a cop.

- It's not rape if you go along with it because he threatens your family.

I'm not a victim of sexual assault, but I found the story and dialogue so upsetting that I'm still thinking about it days later. Truly an awful book.

There was this disconnect some where and it was like a punch line that just kept going past it's expiration date. It was like make it stop, make it stop. That guy needed therapy. Period. I DNF. great storyline & heat

This was my first book by Amber Bardan and I already can't wait to read more!! This book had it all for me suspense, great storyline & heat!

Angelina and Haitham chemistry was there from the moment they met but, after she goes back to his yacht her nerves get the best of her and she leaves, or so he thought. Now the option to leave is no longer in her hands!!

This book was so good and had me on the edge of my seat, I devoured it in one sitting and already can't wait for the next in the series!!

How many secrets need to be revealed?!

This story is about a man who takes a young woman captive on his yacht for several weeks, thinking that she is spying to find out his secrets. There are several big secrets that get revealed as they fall in love. The sex scenes were great, and built up from one type of sex to the next until the final act of penetration and climax. This is a great book to read if you like mystery and suspense with your romance.

Erotically charged...AND an amazing plot...

All boxes are checked off and I was surprised how good this actually was! Found this new (to me) author when I received an email that it was on sale.Suspenseful borderline dark,erotic romance with non con ,"captive" elements ,mystery, intrigue and danger on the high seas...with well written with well developed characters(albeit maintaining an air of mystery with Haithen) ,what more could a girl like me ask for? And part two ready and waiting for me! I am rarely willing to jump outside the bounds of my KU membership,but this one I worth it ! Loved it and off to book 2 now.

Plus,I am happy to see that Amber has another title under KU and will move onto that after completing this series!Thanks Amber!

Pretty good plot...

This is the first book I've read from this Author. The plot was pretty good. There were a lot of grammatical errors and some small things didn't make sense but the overall story was good. I'm curious to see how things unfold in the next book.

A woman that can kick some "butt" & swing a baby on her hip ROCKS!

I really liked that Jenny was a strong woman last summer n ends the story even stronger. I even like when they show her human n vulnerable and stools to date the puke Neil. I mean really who doesn't love a cute baby? I think it would be best to read this in order to get the emotionally pull more intense. The words Simon explains to Spencer why he is leaving his house because Jen isn't a one night stand she is a life changing woman. In saying that Simon did exactly that changed his life from celebrity playbook to the real down home gentleman he is and that really is the shinning star Jen was drawn to n wanted to share her life with. Reminder life I s blessed in the little things that t ouch n make us all truly happy. I walked away with now that story was good! A recommend this to anyone that may have stumbled or thought what am I doing with my life to see every step forward is a gift to treasure....enjoy n share.

Great Read- Give a First Chance for Second Chances 2

This was the second in the "Second Chances" series that I read and I liked it even better than the first. You could read it as a standalone book but I don't recommend it. I think you would get about 10 minutes into it and want to go back and read the first one to get context for the story. There are a few other characters from Book 1 that reappear as well.

Jenny was an overachieving real estate agent when she met Simon, the dashing British movie star. Just as fast as she fell for him, and he for her, he was gone.

Boring!

I don't know why I continue to buy these books because there is no story but sex. Not that I don't like sex because I do but I wish the the characters are a little bit more developed as well as more action outside that of the bedroom.

Decisions, decisions....

I received a free copy of this book as a member of Stephanie Brother's ART team for an honest review. I really like the story line and characters....Ethan and Ambra. I wasn't too keen on the fact that he "loved" her but hadn't been celibate over the 3 years they had been apart.....him waiting for her to "grow up." She did give him 2 days to prove himself which I would have loved that type of proving! I have ready pretty much everything written by Stephanie Brother and can honestly say I have been disappointed yet. If you are looking for a good book and a short read then I definitely recommend!

This was a wild ride from beginning to end--Ambra Hathaway started the night going to her engagement party, one her step father had arranged for her. She didnât love the man she was engaged to but to save her step father and his business, she would marry the devil himself.

She went to go down to her engagement party and one minutes all is ok and next, she is kidnapped from the party by her step brother , Ethan Cartwright, who she hasnât seen in over 3 years. One who once she told how much she loved, he disappeared out of her life. Oh the confrontation by Ambra over Ethan âkidnappingâ her and whisking her off in a limo was great The scenes when they get to Ethanâs home were classic SB writing and I couldnât get enough of the H/h lines.

There is some back story as to why Ethan stayed away and there are some really great bedroom scenes between Ethan and Ambra which is what makes this a great SB book. This is a standalone and has a wonderful epilogue which, as a reader, I very much appreciated. I think only thing I would have liked is maybe to have had a quick page or two of a young Ethan and Ambra to show them to get a glimpse of them in love before the story goes right into where she is kidnapped but that is IMO. Otherwise this is a great story and I cannot wait for the next one.

Wonderful bwwm story w/ slightly older woman..Yay

Great job with the story. Mia Caldwell does it again. Of course the story has a happy ending but, the REASON for the the drama that happens in the story will put tears in your eyes. This story mention the color differences as just a discription and mattr of fact. Think this story was cute and well written. A great purchase with diversity and drama with some steamy sexual situations.

Horrible Narration

The story was good and that was the only thing that kept me listening to the horrible narrator's voice. Not only did every character sound the same, making it hard to distinguish between who was talking unless there was a 'he said' or 'she said' there to help you, but she also mispronounced some words! If I stopped the book and came back after a while, I would physically cringe when the narrator's voice started up again.

Worst narration ever!

This book was ok. It was very basic, however an OK read since I was really looking just to decompress. However the narrator was truly awful!!! She read with no expression, nor was she able to differentiate the voices of the main or supporting characters. But my biggest complaint about the narrator was her lack of knowledge with how to pronounce certain words; basic words. It almost felt like, in some instances, this book was the first time she was ever seeing these words. She could not have possibly read the book prior to narrating, and no one bothered to edit the book. Disappointing!

I really enjoyed this story, my only problem was the narrator... Her voice was muffled and quite boring... I hope it's a part 2 to this book...

Disappointing

Castelli's Virgin Widow: Narration was okay, but the story was irritating and lacked substance. The leading male character seemed bipolar and immature. One minute he was raging/insulting the leading lady's morals and the next he was kind/loving. This happened on multiple occasions, even after he found out she was a virgin. The climax of the story was resolved so abruptly that it felt like the author got bored with the story, and just wanted to get it finished.

Surprise De Angelis Baby: I was not impressed with the narration. I actually found myself daydreaming twice during the first chapter because his voice could not hold my interest. It may be a good read, but I couldn't force myself to listen to the narration.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wished the reader had more "Vibe".

i just finished It and instantly ordered #2. I love the characters, the flow of the book. just made me feel good at the end.

Definitely no Sarah Waters (yes, yes, I know it's not trying to be).

Anyway, this book has zero conflict and the "power lesbian" drives a Mazda-which the protagonist describes as luxury. Might as well chosen a Corolla.

The dialogue also made me cringe and roll my eyes at times, so I give this a skip.
