Every time his country called George Washington reluctantly said yes, packed his bags and  hit the road.  But through all the times he was away, his thoughts always returned to his pride and joy, Mount Vernon.  The General’s intensity and focus to this special place was for good reason, it was much more than a home, it was his business – a 24/7/365 Virginia Tidewater farm!  We're examining what the place meant to him and what it means to all of us today!  This is part 1 of a 3-part series, recorded during our private behind-the-scenes visit to George Washington’s Mount Vernon!
